This is the first song I bought on a casette with my pocket money, young girl from a farm in the middle of nowhere in Australia. It blew my mind away and I couldn't stop playing it over and over. We had no fm radio or any access to new music!
platinumare Same here Blue cover and listened to it an awful lot. If Utah Saints caused a casual A class drug addiction a few years down the line is a multi-million government review I'd be happy to manage
This takes me back 30 year's ago, going to Raves in San Francisco ❤️ great dance song. Never knew Kate Bush was vocals. I'm 47 years old now. Reminds me when I was in my 20 s
Long time ago I'm 53 now Kate bush is an icon think I was 20 ish when this was released 2 babies in all 4 brought up with the classics music is so important my grandson is getting the same as his mum aunties and uncle Dan may music continue for all our sakes 😅
It still has the ability to surge the mind, body and soul. The track hasn't lost it's spark, it's more profound than ever. A happier and better time (on a technicality or by default) via the early 90's, those days maybe gone but the track and it's momentum lives on we need it now more than ever in 2018 plus!!
I have been looking for this for over a decade. I remember hearing this when it came out, I was like seven years old and fell in loooove! music was so hype!
I remember when this song first came out. They didn't say "Utah Saints" on the radio at first. Many people thought it was another Paula Abdul song. About a month later, their band name was mentioned a few more times during the song. I had assumed it was because of the initial confusion. Kate Bush has a smooth, deeper voice whereas Paula Abdul has a more high-pitched, nasal voice. BTW, yes, I am that old. I bought this song in my late 20s. This song still kicks ass.
I remember first hearing this song in late 1992/early 1993 while in high school and thought that this was the best thing to come from the UK since...Well, there have been too many great things from the UK that have invaded America. Anyway, I still rock to this '90s Eurodance classic.
Oooooooh damn. You knew the secret sauce. Those were the best. We got those here in Vancouver around 1996. I wish I had a time machine to jet back to those times. They were the best times for sure. Peace yall.
@@tylero8595 I live in Portsmouth, England. I never knew E's were big across the pond! Can't even get them anymore but I took pure MDMA a few years back and nearly had a heart attack and now have to take beta blockers. I'll be 42 in April but still feel like a teenager. My daughters are in their 20s and I embarrass them with my antics 😘
@@meryatathagres1998 this song is better than the entire career of Kate Bush put together, one of the best piano techno riffs of all time, you just have bad taste.
When the great sprinter Usain Bolt was in his prime I always thought he should have used this intro as he came out the tunnel to line up for a race. Banging tune and would work brilliantly with Usain Bolt U U U Usain Bolt. I think he missed a trick there! Still a great athlete and the Saints a cracking band.
I heard this with the Kate Bush sample before I even knew about the Kate Bush song it came from. Now I love both and are on regular rotation on my drives.
I love how they put clips of Kate Bush’s video Cloudbusting❤️😢🎼in honor of her since they sampled her.❤️😢🎼❤️❤️ I cry so much watching that video. She really knows how to tell a story.❤️😢She is so precious like a little girl in the video 😢❤️🎼🎼 (She is playing a boy in the video)❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
If anyone ever checks out my playlists/faves etc etc.......3 quarters of it is down to these guys having such a HUGE influence on my musical tastes.....Thank You so much guys! Sorry for putting this as a reply btw
Despite hearing this originally in the 90s, and again in the 00's for the '08 remix, is it bad that I have only just learnt that the singer is the incredible Kate Bush. 😱
Hell yah!!!! I was barely too young to be clubbing around the time this song was popular (well, I suppose I could have with a fake ID if i had known the right peeps, heh)... but damn, I bet this song was bad ass to dance to! I still love cranking it up.
In the backseat as my then brother in law ( Mr. Speeding Tickets 1994 also Medal recipient King of Saudi Arabieé in operation Desert Storm and a verra well liked bloke!!
Love the song, remember watching TOTP back in the day (when the show was aired weekly on a thursday evening before the top 40 singles chart at the weekend) open chords to the song is amazing and timeless because you knew the song/band by it, only regret is that never bought the song CD single/album, always ebay can come to the rescue for that
I recorded this off the radio and extended it using a double tape deck ghetto blaster. Not sure if this was before or after I realised you didn't have to put the ghetto blaster under a pillow to block background noise when recording off radio.
I remember when this song came out over 30 years ago, how whenever it came on the radio wherever I was driving I would find myself jumping in my seat despite the seat belts I wore. Never got a copy of the CD (don't ask me why, I have a list of songs that marked the '90s for me and I ended up buying only ONE of them), but I keep finding it here on RUclips (and placed it on a song list of mine so one can always find it).
Makes me kinda laugh, but I was a Mormon for while in my 20s post raver days...lol. but yeah this was a big anthem...but also so good. That then was the prodigy!! Life changer!! Tamworth circa 89 was our first taste of this.
Still enjoying this classic in October 2024 🎉

Sounds like me and ok computer by Radiohead here on the farm in Kansas.
Glad it made it's way all the way out there.
platinumare SNAP! Rural Tassie girl here. This was the bomb! I LOVED it! First tape I ever bought 💖
The kids will never know how massive this was back in the day 😁👍
To right I'm 35 I remembered this back in the day this was heavy back then as it is now
No matter what club you went to there's a good chance you were jamming to this tune
I was never into rave/techno, but loved this at the time. 58 now.
This was the biggest of the biggest bangers
bigger than king kongs dick
This was a landmark song for me.
Something about the really great blends of old, new, and disco/rave style.
I'm 54 and this is in my fave list.
I m fifty eight now and it's still in my playlist
54 too and feel the samw
I feel ya at 52 brother 🤘🏽
Representing 60
MASSIVE Track, even after 33 Years !! It still BOMBS, 1991, #UKHardcoreContinuum ! Breakbeats, House-Piano, Samples, YESSSS BABY !!! 😀
I was at the recording of this video. It was at a rave called Organik in Leeds summer of 1992. Good times! :)
wow!!
its my go to version..because of the power of the intro at high volume.
must have been fantastic
My dear Mother used to play this on any road trip we went on through the early to mid 90's. So much nostalgia!
your mother had great music taste
Released over 30 years ago. And I've still got the feels for this tune. ❤
34yrs ago I think
Music that's as cool now in 2024 as it was then, Flawless from start to finish❤
Timeless Masterpieces, they are TIMELESS !!! 😀
One of the most definitive uses of a vocal sample ever, I've listened to this about 15 times today
30 years and Utah Saints and the rave scene is still going strong.
Rave on!!!
2024 now. Still true.
I'm a huge Kate Bush fan from the start and just love this !!!

47 - 30 = 17
Or am I doing the maths wrong?
😉
Yep.. She has made headlines again with No.1 in the UK Charts 👌😎
@@Landmaaler Ahh.... there's always one, unless I'm doing maths wrong 👍😉
It was also in heavy rotation on Live 105 that spring/summer of 1992.

Yassss….Kate Bush CBE…the _only_ sample of her music she has ever permitted. I bloody love this….🥰
did not know!!
Fact
Oh my god, I have known this song (and some of Kate Bush's songs) for almost 30 years and never realized that is her!
Think i had this on a rave generation tape.
Always remembered this song being played at the fair in the 90's. Great times, amazing music
Such an awesome track and the beautiful Kate Bush just enhances it with that amazing voice of hers ❤

When the world made sense.
Brilliant, i agree 👍
This was on the music channel on tv all the time back then
I have been looking for this for over a decade. I remember hearing this when it came out, I was like seven years old and fell in loooove! music was so hype!
What other music fid you listen to in your youth?
Finally with the "Utah Saints" shout in it! Been lookin forever 👌❤️
They cut it from the 2008 remix and I really don't know why lmao
First decent rave I went to was in motherwell (scotland ) 93 I was 14 at the time ! it was utah saints and the shamen!!
OMG life! Amazing.
Came out my Senior year of High School. Caught it at like 6am on MTV. Had the CD that afternoon.
Kick ass. And such a nice tribute to the incredible Kate Bush. Utah, USA hello to Leeds. Great song, cool video. Utah Saints!
grew up in leeds..gday usa!
and tribute to Wilhelm Reich (Orgone) w/cloudbusting
So glad I was a dj in the 90’s ….proper bangers back then 👏👏

Rave classic! I remember it from my teenage years!
I still have this single cassette tape 🥰
I'm glad they made this song b/c without it the incredible 08 remake they did wouldn't be the amazing song it is.
Origins of awesomeness.
Only this! , & forever! For everyone!
