About Dome Keeper:

Going from NL psycho mining to this is a breath of fresh air.
I can't watch NL play anything anymore cause it all annoys me. It's not even that he's bad, he just doesn't make smart decisions. I still think he's an amazing Isaac player. He's just trash at everything else.

at 55 minutes i was so sad he didn't get any lift speed or extra obs, there was literally like 70 iron in the lift with no progress 😂
I have a 4 hour drive. This will be my comfort the entire time.
Yea a mini map upgrade would be nice to show where you’ve mined, and it could remind you where the mushroom and tree are, and maybe even if they are ready to be picked (that could be a further upgrade). Be a great way to buff the probe

Since the multiplier is each round, I feel like getting at least 1 level on each as soon as possible would be important for a high score.
And grow mineral tree on big chunk of resources, better on all three types.
@@gendalfgray7889 I had the best setup possible last game. Found all 3 minerals in the first 3 layers pretty close to each other, an early seed, probe as first item. Unfortunately the damn thing wouldn't give me neither Teleporter nor Lift for the rest of the game. It became pretty much unplayable after a while, could have been the perfect run.....
If you watch the current WR on RUclips that’s exactly what he does. Early cobalt is all used for score multiplier, then later iron and water once you have some upgrades done.

What makes speed runners, and completionists so impressive, is that many would’ve had what happened to you, but thought “Shit, if it happened once. It’ll happen again.” or “I don’t just need the teleporter, but I want to keep grinding until I get a game where the pieces are side by side”
That being said, even through text I can feel your frustration, passion and just how close, yet so so far. It absolutely sucks when the more random of the two RNG key points goes perfectly, but then for the other key factor, that has a much higher chance of success not happening at all.
Hopefully you did not sacrifice the bestest drllboy to the Gods.

The benefits of two teleporters is you can leave one for going down and one for going up. It would give you a lot more time to mine

As someone who watches beartaffy long videos are the best to watch for falling asleep and being able to pick it back up later. So this is blessed. Thank you
debilitate + freeze is great for the sword, cause it can just kill the little dudes immediatly and give you time to kill the meteor squids before they hit the dome.
Idk if it's just me but not turning on the long days on prestige mode is like shooting yourself in the leg with how outrageous it is in the long run for the amount it takes for you to even mine resources on lower levels
But I'd say you were very efficient in this run and it was genius of you to use Heavy sword + fast stab

You can block projectiles with the blade. You don't have to shot it out to block.

I was on such a good Prestige run when I forgot that I'd already deployed my one-way teleporter and tried to deploy it as I was entering my base to fight off a wave...there was no way for me to get back in time :(
There is a sweet spot and a simple motion that will allow you to mine two or three lanes, respectively.It’s obviously slower that going down one lane, but either feel good to me. Curious if you’ve tired either strat and what you thought of it.
some of the sounds during fights sound like sirens which makes me think they're outside my window. gotta love living under war
Honestly the more I watch late-game prestige play, the more I think Ping is a trap. It can work to give you a jumpstart finding the big iron stockpiles, but after a point you only really care about cobalt, and at that point it's better to just do a proper, thorough strip mine to make sure you find all of it on the upper levels.
Probe is excellent because as you get very far into the game, mining becomes unbelievably slow even with drill upgrades.
Teleporter+probe is the current highest score strategy in the game. Look up “trubba dome keeper” and watch his run if you are interested

Idk if you noticed but on the leaderboards it showed what 3 devices they used I think. If that helps at all for future runs and gameplans

I'm gonna guess that the unmined tiles change their appearance based on how high the drill strength is, which could easily confuse or discourage the point of investing in drill speed.
As far as I can tell, no, tile appearance is static, but the more dense the “stones” are in a tile the more it’ll take

@Skoottie I have seen others do two spaces for mining in order to not miss things.
In hindsight I think 3 is better for relic hunt and im undecided on pretige
@@Skoottie you gotta do 3 spaces per line but at the bottom dig up every 3rd block since you can see resources via the corner between other blocks

I don't know that I've seen you use resource converter. Did you know that one of the options is to convert one iron to five iron?

Why is he making tunnels leaving 3 layers in between instead of 2 layers? This way he would not miss any minerals. And this way the middle layer is not visible and he has to dig randomly like in 1:05:38
You get iron faster but lose out on a few cobalt and water, just the strategy I think is better

I like your playstyle now after watching some other channels, but you're really not beginner friendly.
More precisely, you don't pause on upgrades so we can read the text or say what you're going to use them for, a lot of one/two word game references which again can't decode. A little redundancy would go a long way!
The upgrade @38:30 is a great example: you say "fast stab" while being on another upgrade, then you quickly get intense withering and then say "will get that" while stopping on fast stab.
You could replace it with: "Fast stab" while taking a second to consider it, "actually let's get some wither damage, the AoE might be better."
I try to be beginner friendly in the earlier videos I make of each game but I do also understand that new people dont always watch my first video, so ill try to balance it a bit more! Just dont want people who have watched all the videos hearing the same thing over and over
@@Skoottie Thank you for your consideration! As far as I remember I just clicked on the first 5 videos I found on YT, wish I hit your first one (would have looked for it if I saw you have a playlist e.g. ep 14)
It's small things which would go a long way that I suggest doing:
* showing the upgrade you buy for more time(at least enough to press pause, instead of insta bam, bam what just happened?)
* using longer names/descriptions when you first mention a game item/mechanic. Once per 1-3 hour session I really don't think is repetitive.
But you know your target audience best, these are just my suggestions and even now that I know how the game works wouldn't mind the redundancy.

cobalt actualy makes sense to be in repairs since cobalt is stronger than iron

Upgrading to the javelin opened you up to getting hit a lot more. An upgrade that changes the firing mechanic should be avoided at all costs.
I believe you can add more probes to carry things in the lift...that has the same circular arrows on it.

Can't understand why condenser upgrades for more water wouldn't be worth it in prestige. It's an infinite source of score multiplier.
Has anyone done a run where you just completely clear everything( all the dirt/soil pieces)
the javelin has like a set amount of dmg it can do. once it does that dmg it doesn't pierce anymore. so like those big guys eat up all of the dmg it does unless it's the last shot, then any left over dmg becomes the pierce dmg that the next enemy gets hit with. you can see this when you shoot the javelin at the tiny dudes that dig under ground. it'll pierce like 3 or 4 of them usually.

Converter is good because it can duplicate iron. Very nice specially early on.

I don't understand why 3 block wide mining paths is a good idea? With 2 wide chunks you see every block but 3 wide the centre is hidden. Are horizontal lines of ore rare?
It’s because iron never spawns on its own but always in larger groups so if there was iron in the middle you would be able to see.
The only problem is the water and cobalt as they often spawn on there own, so that’s why every now and then he digs up and down to see in the middle if there is anything.
So it’s far more efficient for iron mining which is the primary resource in the game. Because even if he does miss the very odd water or cobalt he would’ve found far more iron.
I think that luck shouldn't have any place in a competitive game mode.
You should just be able to pick your loadout instead of having to reroll every time you don't get teleporter.
yeah dragging resources should at least add to the weight you're pulling
I've watched a lot of Dome Keeper content just to see the meta evolve. Out of everyone I've watched you are by FAR the most skilled with the sword dome!

Why does he drill with 3 spaces between each row? Wouldn’t it be better to do it with 2 spaces between each row to not miss any material?
Btw, you can use those triangles at the start by making the tree roots grow upwards, you have to make sure though that all tree flowers are able to bloom without hitting other block layers or the tree will eventually canbalise those blocks. The best way to do this is to let let it have 3 tiles of space to left or in this case right and at least two but optimally three tiles down.
I think you are missing cobalt by leaving lines of 3 terrain instead of 2
Resource converter + condenser is OP, infinite mats with upgrades. Plus the tree can give all three different resources if you find a good spot for it
