- The new episode of PRIMETIME, Watchmaking in the News is here! And there’s a lot to talk about that might shift the market in the near future.
First, we talk about the free trade pact signed between India and Switzerland along with Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein. The new reality will come into effect in 2025 and open enormous possibilities for the expansion of Swiss watch brands in this strategic growth territory of India.
We checked the latest report on the watch market performance in 2023 released by Oliver R.Müller and his LuxeConsult in collaboration with Morgan Stanley and revealed 3 interesting trends.
The new MoonSwatch Moonphase is also on our radar this month (with the video of the secret phrase), as well as some noteworthy developments within and with the @swatch Group that might influence its future on the stock market.
An interesting scoop to speculate on is related to the Sandoz Family Foundation and the @ParmigianiFleurier group. However, we’ve been told by Sandoz that they are not commenting on rumours, so it’s better to wait for the official statements.
We present the upcoming non-conventional watch sale organised by Sotheby’s in partnership with the self-proclaimed outcast watch magazine “heist out”. Pretty cool idea, rare and interesting lots and a really fun concept of a catalogue. Timepieces are on view in Geneva at « La Corne à Vin », Rue de Lausanne 47b, 8-10 April | 4:00PM-8:00PM. Check them online here: www.sothebys.c...
Christie’s as well have some great cards in the sleeve with timepieces coming from none other than the race king Michael Schumacher. The sale is on May 13th in Geneva: www.christies....
Meanwhile, Phillips is moving to a new location which has a lot of potential but may lack privacy this time. But let’s wait until the first sales in May.
Only Watch is also testing the grounds for the comeback which this time may be less eagerly anticipated by brands as well as the collectors.
And a bit of a “sharing economy” scam from Japan to spice up the day with a warning to stay vigilant about your timepieces.
In our watch department, we present you the new AP Social club opened recently in Milano, the @frederiqueconstant x Seconde/seconde Slimline Moonphase Date Manufacture, the new Octo Finissimo Automatic for the 140th anniversary of @bvlgariofficial , the @HMoserWatches Streamliner Perpetual Calendar Concept Smoked Salmon, and three exceptional timepieces from La Fabrique du Temps of @louisvuitton.

Not a bad comparison, we'll take it ;) The very best to you
Wow !!! I would say that about covers the issue !!!!!!! Thank you Marc for such complete coverage...amazing and entertaining !!!! Loved it.

Viva watch making! Another great video! 😎👍
Many thanks for this and a great day to you
Excellent video Marc Andre.
Thanks so much for this and have a great day
Great summary as usual Marc! Thx
Many many thanks!
Marc-André is not only one of the most well-informed watch industry experts, his fluid, to-the-point mix of detailed and more general watch news brought in a style both appealing to the watch nerd and the less informed alike, is unmatched. But the icing on the cake is his positivity, radiating from every episode. A breath of fresh air in a World where it is badly needed.
Look forward to the watches and wonders. Wont be able to make it to geneve this year
Don't worry, we got you covered with our videos from the Salon :)
Thanks for sharing

Bravo 👏👏👍🏻👍🏻
Hi hi Marc bewn waiting for ir new video. Awesome content as usual ❤
Very nice of you, thanks so much for this
Great video.
I Love watches.
I have Rolex Submariner, Omega Seamaster blue 42m, Heuer Monaco Calbrie 11 blue Steve McQueen,Doxa 200 Orange dail bracelet after watching this going to add another watch to my collection soon.
Will omega get back above cartier? And do cartier actually sell more watches than omega or is it simply price point that keeps them higher on that list?
I'd never insure my watches. Only insure what would make you broke, in case something happens. In most cases watches are paid for already and if it gets stolen etc. life basically goes on like before.
That's a good philosophical way of looking at it, thanks for sharing
As always superb presentation and up to date horological news. All presented by your own inimitable style Marc.
Many thanks to you and your Team.
Many thanks for your message, really makes us happy 🙏🙏
You did not mention the sad news that Rebellion will no longer make timepieces.
I never heard of them - what was their most compelling model ?
That's true and unfortunately could well be repeated this year.
They had some quite crazy pieces, like the Warp.
Is Cartier that high up? Intéressant or intressant as they say here.
Speaking about wines, there are some bottles of 1925 Château d'Yquem for sale near me. I soooo want to taste!
Why is Ferrari and watchmaking not a greater success?
Quite something to taste such a precious nectar 👍
Where were you. I missed oyur videos
🫶🏻🦾
How did Rolex do so good when they have no watches to sell? Maybe they are selling something else lol
