Great video! To get it into AC coupling select the starting and charging and then click on the diode/ripple test. That will get it into AC coupling.

      thanks for the info,
It would have being nice to be able to select ac coupling from a drop down menu
maybe Hantek will do an update to include this

      Hantek 1008c
I tried your fix to change to ac couple ie going into charging, alternator, diode ripple test but it still shows dc and button is still grey?
Does it need to be connected to an alternator ?
      Any suggestions?
      Cheers sean

I have tried to get this to work, I even went to Hantek website and downloaded the latest software, but the AC coupling is greyed out I don't have a fix for this
I would connect it to the alternator post and see what kind of a reading you get on the scope

Just ordered the 20:1, and the scope.. For home measuring.
At work we got the bosch fsa 760

The only way to change coupling to AC is to go to the automotive presets and in the camshaft/ crankshaft presets (I believe its the camshafts that have it) select one and the coupling will switch to AC automatically and the scales will change appropriately too. Then you just clear the reference waveform and then "SAVE THE SETUP" -that way whenever you want to use the AC coupling, you can just go to File-Load setup and it will come up and then you go on as normal. Hope this helps. This is a great beginner scope to learn before stepping up to a pico, and for people on a budget.

Tried this and worked, however yet to use the scope in this setting, but the scale did change from DC to AC. Used preset for Camshaft (Inductive) Thanks!

Youre welcome. I did some investigation and come to find out, THERE is NO AC coupling for this scope AT ALL. That change in the Cam preset is for reference ONLY! ( so you know what you should be using).
      I DO have a resolution though- www.aeswave.com/files/03-90-u%20Data%20Sheet%20-%20AES%20Pass%20Filter.pdf
I went to www.aeswave.com/AC-Pass-Filter-Adapter-p9178.html and for $17 I bought the AC Pass Filter Adapter. It works both with my uScope and my Hantek. In fact I used it today performing an alternator ripple test and it worked great. Resolution was CLEAN! Hope this helps.

The hardware it self isn't configured for AC coupling.

One of the features of this scope is, that you can click on a button, and it sets it up for coil current testing/injector testing ect

I'm looking at a 1008B and your video has been very useful. Thanks!
There's a "hum" in your audio. Not sure if you're familiar with AUDACITY. I use this open source software to edit the audio in my videos.

If you buy one of these, stay tuned for much frustration!
It defaults to Chinese and the Hantek web site simply ignores the questions. I got lucky, by uninstalling and downloading software several times, to get it to English but trying to install to a new Windows 8 laptop and back to chasing the same problem. I wish I'd bought something else!

Hi, without probes/dividers what is the maximum input voltage you can measure? Is it 5v?

Hi liked the review on the Hantek 1008 ocilliscope
Just bought a 1008c and have the same problem that I cannot switch from do to ac did you ever get a fix for this?
If so could post the fix.
    Thanks Sean

Hi I'm looking at buying one of these, I watched the Almera scan on the injector pulse . Would you have been able to change time scale or zoom to see if it had a pintle hump? I would really like the 3 to 4 chanel capability of this scope , but I am also considering the DSO 2250 100mhz 250 MS/as 8 Bit but it is only 2 channel. I have looked through the Automotive section on the 1008 and I don't think It's a big deal to give up for the hugely better resolution, but maybe the 2 channel could be a problem . Looking forward to your opinion . Thanks

Sir very nice video. Sir i want to know whether these four channels are isolated to each other . Probes ground points are isolated.

would the 10008C be suitable to measure 120/240VAC @ 60HRTZ. If so can you advise proper probes?

Hi I need your help a have a model HANTEK 1008C,Do I have to use a passive Attenuator to check primary coil because the voltage spikes are too high can be more than 100v ? If yes, how I set up on the software screen to tell the scope what Im using. THANK YOU

    • @ElectronicWorkshop
      @ElectronicWorkshop  11 лет назад

      I use a x10 scope probe
You would need to use an attenuater to view injector pulses reduce the risk of damage to the scope
On the right hand side of the scope, about 6 buttons down, you will see an "x1"
Click on the rhs of this, and you should be able to select x1 x10
just select the attenuation you are using

Hi! I'm after buying one of these and reckon its a good job for the money. The only thing is I can't seem to use the signal generator function. There seems to be no documentation on that side of the scopes features. Have you managed to get this to work?

  • @joller79
    @joller79 9 лет назад

    Hi.
If i need to test primary ignition, with spikes up to 2-300volt, do i need an 20:1 attenuator, or can i set the scale up on the scope it self??
I guess it might brake if not??? Because the description of it says max input 400v.
    It is a 1008c model
    Cheers

joller dk To be safe, I would always use an attenuator for coils/injectors

I got a reply back from Hantek and it does not have ac couple feature on the 1008 so I have returned it. I am still looking for a scope .has any one used a lab scope like the owon for automotive work and if so how would you connect it up on an inductive ht pick up lead like the ones Hantek use on the 1008 ie what scale would you put the scope on .

it seems like the screen refresh rate seems slow. Does it just seem that way because of the video or is it really that slow? Can it be adjusted to be faster?

The timebase is ok for automotive use, It could be the desk top recorder I am using at the same time as the scope

This scope is good only for automotive shops. Don't waste your money otherwise.

  • @PicoGirl

Not much storage with just a maximum of 4000 points. There's no way you recorded more than a second. The hantek software record function is rubbish because it seems to only save what's on the screen at any one point in time.

I just bought this scope and its rubbish, total waste of money, you cannot even put up a vertical voltage scale ,get a pico

    • @ElectronicWorkshop
      @ElectronicWorkshop  10 лет назад +1

on the right hand side of the scope screen there is a drop down menu for selecting volts per div. I have used this no problem on auto electronics,
It would not be a scope that would be any use on television repair, where there is fast changing waveforms,
the pico is a far better scope,
