This is the greatest 24 Hours Of Le Mans race ever. Audi R18 TDI #2 "Red Sonja" is the best Audi LMP1 ever. I remembered watching this live on Eurosport and I was in tears as well the time Andre Lotterer crossed the line and won the race. Peugeot did give their best as well and they did put up a good fight. I miss the diesel era rivalry between Audi and Peugeot.
First Audi #3 was Out then followed by Audi #1 was Out only the remaining Audi #2 bringing home the Flag to win the Le Mans 24Hour of 2011 while chasing hard by the 3 PEUGEOT to the very end! what an incredible race that was!! 24 hours of racing and the difference was only 15 second at the end from 1st to 2nd, it cant get any better than that. Holly crap! good job Audi #2
I didn't see this one, but man, it looks like I missed something amazing. Truth in 24 is a good way of watching this race. The documentary was pretty good and emotional.

As much as you support Audi, and you find the 2011 race disappointing? 2 Audi's got smashed by a couple of amateurs driving Ferraris, yes very unfortunate and disappointing.. But let us not forget the fact that the cars held up remarkably well, saving both lives of McNish and Rocky.. And also the lone Audi held off all the Peugeot's to take the win! I find that very impressive and not at all disappointing.
A race runs for 24 hours, a car has 3 drivers that each do at most 2 hour stints before handing over the car to another driver. The car that has done the most laps at the end of 24 hours wins the race.
Yeah, it started out pretty damn good, but it was all over by the time the night fell. It's the first time in years that I didn't stay up all night either.

The driver combo with Leena Gade as lead engineer as won three times now. Congrats to Leena on her 3 victories as lead engineer.

2011 Le Mans was an absolute thriller from start to finish. I watched the entire 24 hours live on TV, and loved every second of it.

Although "my" 908's lost this was one great battle, 2012 will be very pale compared to the last few years.

I thought it was a maximum of 4 hours before the driver had to be changed.
