  • Lots of knot teachers forget lefties need to "loop" the other way. This is also known as a Dutch Marine Bowline, Cowboy Bowline or a Left Handed Bowline. It is just as strong as a Right Handed Bowline. If you want it to look like a Right Handed Bowline, make the tag end go around the "Tree" the other way. All are based on a Figure 8 Stop Knot.

There are more than one bowline. The tag goes on the outside with this version. Research Cowboy, Dutch or Left Handed bowlines

I like a cowboy bowline better than the common one, you don't have a tag in the loop to restrict. I've been a knot guy about 45 years, It has made coordination excellent, your brain as well. A bowline isn't my favorite loop , as you know there are many, I Love teaching useful knots to Family children, it's something you retain your entire life, nice video, Thanks

Sometimes people can be so critical of rabbit stories and knot tying, but I find them useful. Thanks

There are much better climbing knots, as you know, a bowline is a maritime knot , it needs to be under load to be secure, it also is easily untied, I'm a climber of trees , what climbing knots do you use
