This is the Harley that could make me finally buy one. It’s like a smaller, more nimble Road King. The new generation of Softail is a huge improvement.
I owned a 2006 Softail Heritage Classic that I used as my daily driver for a full year when living in Florida. This line from HD is great. The older versions used to be the only ones that had an engine balancer like they use in cars. That helped reduce the vibration in that line. As for the burning from the exhaust. I had that too and ended up singing a couple pairs of pants before I started tucking them in to keep them from touching. The speedometer location is actually quite common on cruisers and can be found on bike from multiple manufacturers. You just kinda get used to it. Personally I prefer the turn signal style of HD, but that's probably because I was used to it having had a Sportster and then the Softail. I loved that bike and put quite some miles on it before I sold it for cash to help make ends meet at one point. I think my biggest issue with the bike was the exhaust and how it singed pants when at stops. Other than that, I think it's a great all around bike that can be used for a daily commuter, around town riding, running small errands, exploring new places, and long range riding all with great ease. I even did my shopping with it for awhile, lol.
I just bought a 2019 Heritage classic 114 in wicked red, and I absolutely love it. Thanks for the video, dude! 👍😜
