I purchased one after weighing different options and other launch monitors. I didn't really like the subscription model, but this is the way the world is going, and in my final analysis the subscription is much less expensive than a few sessions at any of the golf sim places near me. Importantly, I'm able to get some swings in when I have time, since it's quick and easy to set up in my back yard. It's not absolutely flawless. In certain light conditions it misses shots - but this is rare, I haven't figured out exactly what it is, but when it's happening, it is annoying. Chipping is very temperamental in my setup. But, if I can nail my approach this will not impact play- lol. I use mainly practice mode and range mode. If it weren't for the chipping frustration I would probably use course mode more. I did have challenges with connections, but I'm outdoors and at the fringe of my wifi. Direct connection to my iphone has been virtually flawless. I've had some synching issues where I can't see session info unless I'm looking on the device I used to record it. I did see distance issues, but these were largely resolved by being a bit more diligent when setting up for a session and getting the right distances from device to mat, and mat to net. The device records your swing, and if you use a phone holder you can get both down the line and face on. It also records impact in super slo-mo. I find these videos quite useful. I use an app called Golf Fix that analyzes the swing videos and points out flaws and provides tips on how to fix them. I can say that using the launch monitor along with this app has done wonders for my golf swing. I can confidently say that it has provided more value than the amount of lessons I could get for the money spent. I didn't go from a 20+ handicap to breaking 80, but I'm on the path. Before this I was just using the hitting mat and videos of myself to try to improve. The data is not always perfect, but it is pretty good the vast majority of the time. I find reviewing the numbers and the swing video while practicing is great feedback that helps me tweak my swing, and it's satisfying when I know i've struck it well to see the validation in the data . If golf sim was my priority, I wouldn't have a super rosy review due to the chipping, but I also probably would have spent the time to troubleshoot and fix that as I did with the distance issues. The special balls are pricey, and its a subscription model so they've got you locked in a couple ways. On the flip side though they are always updating it, so it will continue to get better (until they want you to buy a new one and send an update to make it stop working- apple battery performance anyone?) . anyway hope this helps.
With new Update on the SkyTrak and being able to get the Original SkyTrak for less than $1,500 it deserves a serious look.. Graphics on new SkyTrak V5.0 looks light years better. and you can use normal Golf Balls..
Graphics do look good. I'm yet to try out the new course software. Subscription cost might be an issue for some, $220 per year on top of Essential plan ($129) when you can get GSPro for $250 and no SkyTrak subscription
Got mine 2 weeks ago having trouble with distance off 20 to 30 yard. Got it to help improve my game but I feel like it hurts me because I'm over swing. The longer the iron the worse it reads. I'm currently working with rapsodo on it but if they don't fix it by end of week I'm returning it
I have the exact same problem. It tells me my driver is hitting only 160-180 or so. I’m generally 200+ off the tee. Seems like the longer the club the more inaccurate it gets. . I bought mine used so I’m stuck with it .
Had my uncle hit on it with his clubs it ready pretty accurate. He hit the same distance as me on the golf courses got a few day to decide if I'm going to return it. Just worried that I will have same problem with r10. Besides distance I love the features of it, except the connection issues
In your original set up. Your starting point was off to the right so you could hit your longer clubs. Is it possible to move the starting line with this equipment, my simulator set up is in my garage and I'm off the centre by about 2-3ft. Will this affect anything?
I’ve had mine for about a year now and with the new connector that’s out there you don’t even need the app open any more you just initially connect then disconnect and it sends shots via Bluetooth to my computer for GSPro, but with that said I’m looking around thinking to upgrade
I second that. The springbok is great and can do putting using ExPutt or even a webcam. My GsPro experience so far was great with MLM2Pro. The best tip is routing a Bluetooth receiver close to the LM and the response time is surprisingly really good.
Mine disconnects about every 15 shots. It's so aggravating. It also glitches meaning I can't scroll through clubs because the screen is frozen. It might be too late to send it back I have to check.
I have encountered the disconnection issues a couple of times but it seemed to sort itself out and I havent had any issues since. If anyone knows of a solution to this please drop a comment below 👍🏼
i was interested in using the stack system ,are you saying that rapsodo stores it own speed data, as this product has a subscription and so does the stack, but the stack has AI to build your swing and rapsodo only stores data ( swing speed ) is this correct
There are many reports of this device constantly disconnecting and not working at all. How many hours have you put in for the review? Did this ever happen?
I used it at home against a net and screen played it to a tv i brought outside. With and without the Callaways. First thing i noticed is that EVERYTHING was short. I played some of my home courses and a private club that a friend of mine had invited me to. I couldn't hit a damn thing more than 230. (I hit my 4i 220-230 and my 5 wood 245-250. Brought it to the range and hit misread everything besides my wedge shots. Sold it on Ebay for $500.
I think as a community we need to make it clear to manufacturers that charging yearly subscriptions to unlock “on box” features isn’t a business practice that should be rewarded. Pay for updates and upgrades? … maybe, but charging 25% of purchase price every year just to use basic built-in features? That’s just greed. Mevo+ offering bolt on features for a one off? I’m ok with that. Lower initial buy price gives them charitable/favourable comparison to lower end models while also ensuring that the resale price will be a fraction of the initial BUY price not the TCO. My advice by a Garmin, spend the “subscription costs” on GSpro which is amazing and if you love having a golf sim then upgrade the launch monitor later. Compare the full costs of the rapsodo over 5 years to skytrack or mevo+ and it’s a hard no.
I agree. first of all all technology is flawed, however for units that cost this much they should at least have accurate results; e.i, Distance, Carry, and Shot shape. if these three things are accurate then I would definitely consider paying extra for Online golf courses and all types of data. But it should work almost perfect out of the Box with new updates every month to ensure that the results stay up to date.
My experience with launch monitors is at Golf X. Its a commercial indoor gold simulator. Its a lot of fun but it cost $40 an hour.

How's it going? You mentioned that you don't like the delay of the MLM. How would you compare the delay to the new Skytrak? Thanks.
Pretty similar in my experience 👍🏼

Are you hitting indoors or outdoors?
Are the yardages on the short or long side?
Both and its short right now my pw is within 10yrds of my all my iron to 5 iron

Yes absolutely - just move the launch monitor a little to the side so it’s in line with where you’re hitting 👍🏼⛳️

what connector is this?
Springbok
Is there a tutorial anywhere for how to connect the MLM2 to GSPRO?
@@hcpgolf springbok has some videos and so does Joe Lagowski’s RUclips channel.
I second that. The springbok is great and can do putting using ExPutt or even a webcam. My GsPro experience so far was great with MLM2Pro. The best tip is routing a Bluetooth receiver close to the LM and the response time is surprisingly really good.
When you are outside in an actual driving range, do you have to use the special balls included?
No you can use regular range balls. You just don’t get as much data 👍🏼⛳️
It's £165 for the yearly subscription I've just paid mine

How are you projecting?
I have a USB-C to HDMI connector similar to this amzn.to/3YrpRG5
There are many reports of this device constantly disconnecting and not working at all. How many hours have you put in for the review? Did this ever happen?
Its happened to me on probably 2/3 occasions
How accurate is it when not using the Callaway golf balls that are supplied with it?
I used it at home against a net and screen played it to a tv i brought outside. With and without the Callaways.

latency is one selling point of rapsodo's products, incl. the skytrak
I don't think 14 to 15 feet is equivalent to 6 meters?
Work on more hip flexion, throwing your hips, can tell your losing distance
You can literally mirror whatever device that you have to your PC via Lonely Screen w/Bluetooth.
The subscription breaks down to like $16/month.
I mean come on. That’s Pennies to have a golf sim at home.
When you put it like that, not bad is it!
You didn't talk about the course play at all!
Course play is spoken about at 4:10 and 13:05-14:56
200$ a year is nothing i spend 150 at top golf every time i go and its for and hour or two
😂 ye I don’t think 200 is too much per year
@@hcpgolf i just picked mine up and im loving it i was just hitting into a net blindly now im seeing what im hitting and it’s definitely helping
So you don't need a computer with this?
No just a phone/tablet 👍🏼⛳️
