Linda Thompson wrote in her memoire that Elvis would have a routine of clearing his throat and nasal passages (which she described as being a little gross-sounding!) and even having injections to dry up mucous membranes. And it was Ginger who wrote in her book that Elvis would not use his vocal chords anymore than he had to before a show, speaking only quietly, so as to not strain them.
ELVISISTHEMAN CHANNEL I think Èlvis is the greatest entertainer and knew what he wanted when it came to recording and the pre warmup was all the gospel songs he sang before and after his recordings and concerts. Thank you for this short video. ❤🎉😊
David i agree with you on that . That was his normal way of doing things .he new when he was in the right mood to record..he set the tone nobody else did.
For voice hygiene warming up is crucial. And absolutely before intense concerts. Elvis did the right thing. I would like to know what he drank to even make his voice more smooth and resilient. Give that stuff to me too.😂By the way every singer has his own way to warm up and should be able to decide how without interference of whoever.
This is something I’ve never thought about but this is a great question! I do not remember (off the top of my head 😅) anyone talking about his ‘routine’ preconcert..maybe Linda Thompson or Ginger witnessed him warming up?! Let us know if you find out anything 👍
I saw something somewhere else, in the past year or so, about the contents of his “vocal cocktail,” but I don’t remember any details. In one of the live documentaries, either “Elvis on Tour” or “Elvis in Concert,” there is a clip of Elvis using an inhaler just before going on stage. That was likely albuterol, which was and is a prescription drug. However, back then there was an over-the-counter inhaler available called “Primatine Mist,” so it possibly could have been that. I’m not sure what the formulation of “Primatine Mist” was back then, but it appears to again be available over-the-counter. In its current formulation, the active ingredient is epinephrine. Perhaps that was what it was back in the day as well.
Elvis was and still is bigger than life!
Thanks for this video! Enjoyed these clips of Elvis!
Elvis's pre-show vocal warm-up,........wake up at 8.30 pm,.....limousine to the venue by 8.55,......stat singing ''That's all right Mama'' at 9.00pm
😂👌 💯 ⚡️👑⚡️
You forgot the drugs 😂

Elvis lived and breathed his music so only he would know when he was ready to do a show or record a song.
Really! OK!!
The gospel music soothed his soul, thats why he wound down after shows, fyi, theres a great interview of larry strickland talking about this!!
Great! Yes, I like the short clips.
Ok cool
This is good, EITM! Keep this type of videos going. I like this very much (my input)! 😉 😎👍 💯

I always thought it was just a plain inhaler, but maybe that’s what it could’ve been
Okay...I give up. Where's the warmup video?
Was expecting some type of vid also
