It would have been nice if I received credit for putting this press conference together. This was taken from my King to Legend documentary that was written up on Elvis Information Network. I agree with your comments but again I put the November press conference together with audio and transcription.
We appreciate your work, sir. This is a great channel and the creator brings us a lot of great content and always gives credit where credit is due. As he said, he’d never even seen it himself so I’m sure he didn’t intend to snub you in any way!
I would love to view your King to Legend documentary! Could you please let me know where I can view it? I’ve looked and subscribed to a few of your channels. It would be most appreciated! Thank you. ⚡️
Elvis had a serious side too. Maybe he was tired (not necessarily from medication) maybe he had been doing a lot of rehearsals or had something more serious on his mind. He was highly intelligent and I would never insult his intellect. We've all at some point, in our lives stuttered or said something that just didn't come out right. The fact is, we don't know what he was going through at time.
We knew he was getting divorced, we knew he was being exploited and financially abused by the important people in his life. Was this when the ex wife put a lien on his house? We can piece it together. He was said to have a stutter, on one of his early performances on tv it came out. Here he looked tired and drowsy still fabulous and sexy though.
I DON'T CARE WHAT ANYONE SAYS ABOUT ELVIS HE WILL ALWAYS NUMBER 1 IN MY BOOK AND IN MY HEART. AND IT REALLY MAKES ME MAD WHEN SOMEONE SAYS THAT HE FORGETS SOME WORDS TOA SONG YOU TRY REMEMBERING EACH WORD TO ABOUT 800 SONGS I BET YOU COULDN'T SING 1 SONG WITHOUT MISSING ONE WORD. ELVIS YOU ARE LOVED AND MISSED
That's what rehearsals are for, & Elvis did mostly his own songs, over & over, for many years,. New ones were added, at times, that's why he grew bored , same songs, different cities, no challenges, He was offered star in remake. Star Is Born, in 76, but Col nixed it bcz Babs was getting top billing. ..
@charolettebarnett3420 well said!! Without sounding completely stupid or judgmental, what was the purpose of posting this video? Is it because this person posting is doing it because it is a new clip he has never seen before, or is it to do like so many others, are finding more footage of Elvis mixing up his words? It seems to me that it was posted just to bash Elvis once again. So what if he forgot lyrics or took a long time to answer questions. He did pretty damn good in my opinion..He worked around the clock and when he was performing, he put his everything into it. Finally we all are aware of his use of drugs. I have seen many many more singers and front men stutter and slur words now in this time. I think we are all tired of hearing the same old same old. Let the man Rest in Total peace.
Arent rehearsals for that? You practice the songs you are going to play to perfect and not forget them.... so sorry....but I dont get your response because it holds no water.....being an Elvis fan doesnt mean you cant be critical of him. No one is perfect and Elvis surely was not...bringing up his faults doesnt make you any less of a fan and should not offend anyone. No need to type in all caps.
@@Memow-pk1ng I dont think Parker was the only one who nixed ASIB in 1976....I think Elvis did a lot of the nixing....remember to be part of that movie would have meant he would have had to have gone without narcotics for about 6 months. No way in 1976 he could have done that...he was way too deep into the throws of drug abuse.
@@wendyb5528Your response is just inane......We cant criticize another performer? How crazy is that. Elvis was a performer....performances are meant to be criticized.....wow what a bubble you live in being offended that real fans are talking critical about a performer. The fact that we can be critical actually makes us bigger fans because we can accept Elvis even with all his faults....seems to me you cant do that because of how offended you get when someone decides to do it.
Elvis is and will be #1 forever in my book of life!!! He had great pressure on him..but always pulled thru. The joy and life for love of music CAME FROM HIM !! RESPECT AND LOVE IS WHAT I WILL ALWAYS HAVE FOR HIM !!!!!!!!!
You are on the right track. I can tell you from a very reliable source what happened for the November interview…Elvis was prone to suffer from debilitating migraines due to his glaucoma. He had a migraine and been given medication so he could sleep and just as he’s about to fall asleep, his team was told he had a press conference to do…he said he was struggling to stay awake and trying to concentrate on the questions accompanied by a pounding headache….trying to answer was difficult as he felt like he was in a fog. The day of the Aloha rehearsal, he again was suffering from a migraine (glaucoma) so the doctor had to insert a needle directly in the eyeball in order to extract the fluid buildup behind the eye.
That may be true,.. but it's well known due his schedule, doing his midnight showed, was wound up, & stayed up , to unwind, till 4-5 am, then took sedatives to sleep till 3-4 pm . & then needed uppers/ amphetamines to jumpstart, th same over again ,Th one from Aloha, Jan. 73, was early morning, 10ish, & had probly taken his sleep meds, as was mumbling, almost nodded off .. Aloha was a much calmer, not as much animated , as th NYC Madison Gard. .. One of his best !!
@@kevindaniels8007Not sure about that totally. Yes he was on a 500 calories/day but he had to take other meds because of his other disorders. He was always in some kind of pain from the diseases/disorders he had that affected 9 of the 11 systems in our bodies. Elvis was a sick man.
Dave, never saw this before. He looks tired but better than the Sept. presser. Not easy being one of the most famous people on the planet and since Elvis was the first super star, he had no examples to follow.
It might be that the interview took place at a time when Elvis would normally be in bed asleep. Thought he looked good though and looked even better for the concert. It's a real shame he never got to tour outside the US given he had and still has so many fans all over the world. This was a real treat to see. Thank you for sharing.
We all will FOREVER love Elvis. Beyond the music and hype, there was a man. Unfortunately most never really took the time to get to know or understand the man. He was a special person plagued with a lot of ailments that no one knew and instead of him taking care of himself he ignored himself so he could take care of everyone else. He was born with many problems that were genetic that he did not know about but suffered through them anyway. He was our gift from GOD and he was born to bring us together of which he has done and continues to do. He was filled with so much love and in fact so much that in the end he locked himself away to suffer alone except for maybe Jerry and GOD so he would not cause any pain to his fans. He loved and respected his fans to a fault. That is why Elvis will live on forever. GOD gave us the best he had and took him home with him before the devil totally ruined his relationship with his fans. He is now with his brother that he always missed and his mom first followed by his dad and sadly his only child Lisa Marie. Elvis will be with us forever sort of like Jesus will be with us forever. I believe Elvis’s love for the Lord and the love the Lord had for him is similar to JOB in the Bible. Elvis went to be with the Lord with his book on the Torah in his hands. He was always searching so before he could not, GOD brought him back home. Gif Bless you all. ❤
@@madalynmak1952 I wish I could heart your comment. I think he wanted so many guys around him because he was missing his twin Jesse. Maybe thats why he didn’t like being alone. I always wondered if they blamed ginger for not checking on him like his other gfs & Priscilla did . I also feel like when Lisa Marie passed, our connection to Elvis was gone forever. Even though her girls & granddaughter are still here, they never got to know him like Lisa did. Felt like an ending. Im so glad there are others like you who love him like I do. Thank you!!💜💜🌻🌻
@@butterfliesarefreetofly6964,You are right, with Lisa Marie the last real bond to Elvis was lost. It's enough to make you cry, only his money-grubbing "widow" is still around. God must love the Presleys very much, he gets them all way before their time.
I get pumped up too like I'm actually seeing Elvis live! Can you imagine how we would have felt, actually seeing him in person!? I'm a guy, and I'd probably pass out! Lol😂 I really love your comment! Couldn't have said it better myself!🙂👍❤
Great find and thank you for sharing. I think he was tired and complacent. Having meds, migraines, etc., just added to his stumbling. He remains the best through and through. He was so strong to get through so much.
I've never seen this footage either thank u for sharing. Elvis looked great. I really miss him an him singing I've seen the speak he made in NEW YORK. He looked tired in that one. Thank u . He looks so fantastic. ❤✝️☮️🕯️🙏
Elvis always seemed reticent about public speaking, Even the Madison interview has moments of hesitation and stuttering. That said, he does sound slower here. Do enjoy his speaking voice.. Had a natural rich tone and rhythm. Fascinating, never seen or heard this before. Elvis looked great. Thank you for continuing to find and share these rarities with us all.
He just wasn't. good orator/ speaker,. If anyone remembers th By Gardner calling Elvis, Jul 56 ( before Ed S Sept 56) Elvis was stuttering, searching for words, & looks half sleep, acting s if is drugged up. ( Elcis was already into uppers/ amphetamines , when touring w/ Cash,Jerry Lee, who were known pill poppers, alcoholics, coke addicts, & got Elvis taking) in 1954
Love Elvis, but I respectfully disagree about looking great part. He seemed to be on downers and heavier. And Parker never had another press conference after that. And in September 72 press conference 2 months earlier he was wired on something. June 72 press conference was the best one he did that year.
@@Giblues He did do one from Aloha, Jan. 73, he was a mess, & must've been earl morning, & after taken his packet of sedatives, was mumbling, slurring, & almost nodded off in middle of sentence. He usually did 2, I know did in Vegas, dinner , & midnight, then stayed up till 4-5. am took sedatives to sleep all day, uppers up all night,. & became a habit..
@ElvisistheMan_ I agree. He seemed fine at June 72 press conference. Then but On uppers September 72' & 2 months later in November he was probably on downers & acted like someone shot him with a tranquilizer. And they never did a press conference again after November 72' one.😢

I recently heard an interview where Marty said the reason for the slurring was the timing of the interview, too early for Elvis and he was still under the influence of his sleep medication.
Thank you David 🏎🏁 Elvis always talked slowly and stuttered two important questions even when he was a kid. Interesting insights that you have. TCB ⚡️😻

Great find. Perhaps, most likely they held the conference at the wrong time. EP would have either been too tired, or not fully awake or recovered from his sleeping pill induced sleep. He's still fabulous as always 💯⚡❤
I had never seen these before. Love the new footage of the conference. I was recently surprised when I heard about this Press Conference, from someone I was listening to, possibly Marty Lacker or Billy Smith, in an interview. One of them said that the press conference was held early in the morning, and Elvis hadn't fully recovered from the sleeping medication he had taken, so he wasn't at his best during the conference. I am not sure if this is true or not.
Heard an interview with Marty Lacker who said it was the result of sleeping pills he hadnt slept off. He said he remembered thinking at the time they scheduled him to early to do that interview.
Elvis schedule usually was after his midnight shows, he was wound up , & stayed up till 4-5am, then took his sleep aids/ sedatives,, to sleep till 3-4pm." thwn took his uppers/ amphetamines, so this may been after he took his sedatives.
The fact is per Marty Lacker who was with Elvis from kids to 1976, Elvis was not high, in fact for weeks he had only taken sleeping pills as he always did, he said this interview was changed to early afternoon, so Elvis being night owl had to get their early before he was fully awake from the sleeping pills, so he said anyone who's taken them knows how you feel after taking them if you do not have enough time to be alert. So, Elvis had to fight threw their effect, which is hard as hell, hell taken Over-the-counter sleep aids can make you groggy when you wake up, and you cannot make fast reactions or thought processes. In fact, per Marty Elvis was clean for months getting his mind and body ready for the Aloha from Hawaii. So, there are the facts that were easy to find if one wanted to and not make assumptions without the facts. He was not high. He was still trying to wake up and clear his head.
At higher doses, sleeping pills produce the same drowsy, feel-good effect as their highly addictive counterparts, benzodiazepines. Sleeping pills can also produce hallucinatory effects when an individual takes the drug but fights the urge to sleep. So yea...he was high.
Hi, David! I'm not a native English speaker, but I always thought Elvis' speaking pace weird, maybe due to his southern countryside origin. It's said that Elvis has had a huge legion of fans in Japan since a long time ago, and they were the bestowed audience by the Aloha From Hawaii via satellite.
Elvis looked charmingly handsome and very healthy weight in that interview. Sound was very difficult to hear at times but like you it was a thrill to see something new on him. I'm sure there are lots more on film by Precillia and other friends and family members that we fans would absolutely love you see. What a presence that man had. Keep up the fab streaming 😊❤
Christina, fantastic to see something new on Elvis. He must have been exhausted. He always gave so much in every performance. He would really need time to recover after each one. Thanks for that great footage ❤
Seems to me that it's nothing new for Elvis to stumble with words, and some anxiety probably is a part of that, and he always had a minor stutter. We know he also had a lot of medical problems, so besides drugs, he could have also not been feeling well. Just a thought. Thank you for digging this up and sharing. He looks very handsome in those shots.
Fantastic footage! Many thanks to the initial creator and to you for sharing it with us. I’ve listened to an interview with Marty Lacker for a radio based in New York and the interviewer asked Marty about the conference in Hawaii and why Elvis was so drowsy and slow and Marty confirmed it was because of the sleeping pills and that the effect of them hadn’t worn off and the conference was scheduled at the wrong time for Elvis and Marty said Parker was to blame for the timing of the conference but said it was basically the effect of the sleeping pills.
It's hard to watch. I think it was the beginning of the end, and it breaks my heart. I do appreciate you sharing this no matter how much it saddens me. Thank you.
After th Aloha, J73, was all downhill, especially after Prisc left him early 72, his ego took a big hit,.. & th drug abuse escalated,. As th Col overbooked concerts, , worked him to death !!

It’s good seeing stuff I haven’t seen before. I’ve been watching “Elvis is The Man” for a long time. I’ve been an Elvis fan all my life. Went to Graceland 2 weeks to the day before he died on a summer vacation with my parents. I was 14. I signed me & my girlfriend name on the wall. Thank you for your program, for all you do to keep Elvis’ legacy alive, his music alive. To me, Elvis is the greatest performer ever.
I just found this footage yesterday and I was wondering "if David had ever seen it?"😂. I'm glad you did a video. Now, we know that maybe at least japanese dudes have a full length footage. Maybe we'll see the full version someday.
I have to agree with you, it is always great to see or hear any Elvis material that is new to me. He was as sharp as a tack during the MSG PC, no so much the 1972 stuff. Up until that point I believe Elvis was always very careful to be straight when he was making a public appearance. I don't love him any less for it, but we know the man had his issues. Thanks again for all your work, helping to keep the memory of Elvis alive.
Hey David, I'm really surprised you hadn't seen that bit of footage previously. You should have a look at a channel I came across recently called 'Elvis Presley Collecting King Elvis' the guy who runs it has recently discovered 4 cassette tapes of where Marty Lacker was interviewed, about 2h of footage. The interview asks Marty directly about this press conference. Marty stated that the conference was actually too early for Elvis and he had grogginess from his sleeping medication the night before. Marty states he'd heard the fans say things but the fact is a mistake was made with the timing for Elvis, had they made it an hour or two later, Elvis would have been fine. Honestly you will love these recently found tape recordings, I've listened to them all, Marty was a straight shooter about quite a few interesting topics.
It would be interesting to know if Elvis had a hospitalization prior to the MSG interview and how long before. Possibly he got cleaned up for a while. I saw him in concert at MSG in 1972 and he was full of energy and magnetism.
These interviews were early in the morning, and he had stayed up all night as was his schedule. He may have taken an upper before going to it. He also had taken something like Soma, a medication that can make you hold water badly.
I enjoyed the video but not the speculations. He was in a different Time Zone and could have had jet lag as well and he did have a different way of speaking. We don’t know. No one except Elvis knows
I’ve mentioned this before in the comments of other vids of yours! Around the time of the 73 satellite concert he had cut back on the medications dramatically! This is been noted many times by many different ones that where around & close at this time! And I don’t understand why you would show a rare clip such as this & make the total focus of it (how high he may or may not have been!) that’s lame dude it’s been done so many times! Show the rare clip let it speak for itself, let the fans decipher it period.! I just recently heard an interview done with Marty lacker from 2008 I believe, in wich he spoke of this specific time period. He was saying the same that Elvis had really took a straight path leading up to this event. But did mention that he was still on sleeping medication, & specifically spoke about these interviews and that they where a bit early for Elvis, & that along with nervousness was the reasoning! So I am glad that you kinda mentioned that toward the end! Thing is we don’t any of us know we can only speculate! But there’s enough people that have gave negative opinion as to Elvis , was he high here, was he lit there, I don’t think real fans of the man should join in on this kind of speculation man! I had not seen this clip before and would have enjoyed it more if not for you dragging the focus around the drug thing!!! Not for views, numbers or any other reason ! Of course that’s just my opinion & Defense of “THE MAN”! It’s impossible to try & diagnose the life he had , what he endured personally, why he self medicated at times…. But it’s not Hard to enjoy the Talent, charismatic vibe & all around COOLNESS this man dropped on the world that still helps it spin even today! I could care less if he was high or not in this interview! If I was in his shoes I probably would have been high as well & maybe you would have to bro! Just maybe leave the opinion on the drug thing lay man, It’s insulting to the man & his closest fans!!!
Could be David that he was also nervous I mean doing a via satellite from Hawaii all over the world and he was the first one to ever do that could be possible he was just nervous
This is a Great find, David. Thanks for showing the Hidden Videos of the "Aloha" announcement. Many of us have seen the press conference - but Not the parts with the question and answers that you found. The MSG Press conference was wonderful ( Elvis was Sharp and on his Game ) . These September and November ones were Not So Good. Could the MM guys have said to the Colonel " Push this session back an hour or so ??? Maybe get Elvis a Nap and some coffee ? While he might have been medicated , he seems Exhausted .
I think it’s sort of like Omaha. He was really out of it and said he was going to lay off the pills for Rapid City and gave a much better show. I think Elvis time his pills right in this situation and it showed.
Marty Lacker said the press conference was scheduled too early the sleeping pills hadn't wore off yet. So the influence was sleeping pills. Lacker said he was definetely not stoned.
There is no mystery here about Elvis' sluggishness.Last night I heard Joe Krein's interview with Marty Thacker.Thacker said Parler scheduled this interview before Elvis,' sleep med had a chance to wear off.The interview was set too early. You can google many interviews Joe Krein or Kleine has on Elvis Express radio.Thackerr has 4 interviews. He has several more with people who knew Elvis.
If you watch Marty Lackers interview I believe it’s a 3 part interview titled Elvis Presley- Marty Lacker Memphis Mafia member interview. He tells us exactly that about the November interview Elvis did and he seemed out of it. Marty said it was the sleeping pills, they did the intro too early and the pills didn’t wear off yet. He also mentioned that for the weeks during rehearsing & doing the shows Elvis the meds. Those interviews with Marty are excellent and gives us so much information we never knew during those years he was with Elvis , what you will be glad you did. I believe Marty was a stand up guy and always had Elvis’ back. Unless someone tells me different, I’m convinced!!
Another great episode here David! I’m with you, I’ve never seen that q&a as it pertained to Elvis coming to Japan to do a concert. Of course as many of us long time Elvis fans are aware, this was a bit of an infamous press conference. You asked, rhetorically, what could have caused Elvis to speak so slowly and lethargically; I believe the answer could be, sadly: barbiturates. Elvis was known to take prescription medication like “Seconal” as well as sedation medication like “Valium”. I believe that, coupled with any sleeping medication consumed caused Elvis to appear so groggy and tired. Regardless, it IS so good anytime we come across a lost piece of film footage or a recording highlighting The King! There’s been many reports, as you are aware, of old, archival film footage from “Elvis On Tour” that still has yet to be released. I’d love for someone to unearth that for all of us to enjoy. Thanks so much David!
Exactly the kind of material that should have been on the Aloha Blu-ray, instead of the same old things used over and over again [using the poor quality DVD masters that were transferred using now ancient 1990's technology!]. I wonder how long the whole conference lasts as you can see he's standing AND sitting down [in the photo]? Japanese TV also filmed one of the HIC November '72 shows and to think the tapes/reels are just sitting out there gathering dust. So annoying. Compared to other legacy artists, he has some of the most inept people working on his back catalogue. Re. the September '72 conference: I'd cut him some slack on that one, as he'd not long come off stage and so was bound to look and sound a bit tired.
Elvis worked so hard his entire career and gave so much of his time and energy to fans and people in general. God knows what he was going through at this time. He was the greatest ❤️
No it isn’t. The only real offers that were financially viable were from the Middle East and I can see why that was turned down. He would have played England in 1978 for a planned Elvis on Tour 2
He looked good but seemed a little stoned. I know he got off everything he was on in the weeks going up to the Aloha Special and lost weight. But according to Memphis Mafia memebers after the special he went right back on the stuff. So sad. It's always good to see new footage. Thanks!
Thankyou for sharing your find ……and thankyou to the gentleman who originally put it together ☺️! I absolutely would not be as knowledgeable about Elvis as I do now if it wasn’t for all your knowledge and the content that is posted on your page …. All the little snippets of rare finds that I definitely wouldn’t get to see myself so here is a big thankyou !!! 😊
It's totally unfair to relate Elvis slurring his words at press conferences due to him being high. The reality is that he had to take lots of different medication throughout his life just to function check out Sally Hoedel's book Elvis Destined To Die Young I'm not attempting to excuse his behaviour but you have to know all the facts before jumping to incorrect conclusions.
Oh, I definitely don’t think my assumptions are incorrect. Children from cousins have only a 4% chance of birth defects compared to children whose parents are not cousins chalked it up. Elvis is lifestyle choices because his grandparents were first cousins is a bit of a stretch to me.
@@ElvisistheMan_ I don't know where you get your facts from but a lot of problems that Elvis had he had from birth, the doctors back then didn't know how to treat problems with a persons immunity system and some of the medication that was supposed to help Elvis caused some of the addiction issues that he had. Out of the nine systems that run the body Elvis had problems with five prior to fame and most lightly from birth. You really should read Sally Hoedel's book Elvis Destined To Die Young it goes into great detail looking at the systems and the implications that effected Elvis' life. Thank you for taking the time to answer my previous question it's very much appreciated.

I think you might be right. His health was not good and he was under so much pressure from everything. It's hard for a man to live up to He was human just like us and so maybe his life was out of control and he didn't know where to go or what to do. 😢
Issa very priiivaaaalllaagge 😂😂 this is the exact word tht comes to mind when i think about this press conference LOL the way you say it! Great minds think alike
I was 10 years old when Elvis died, and I thought I had seen every video footage of him in existence. I had never seen this interview and it was great to see something new. He never toured in Europe or Japan because he would not have been able to take his drugs with him. The drugs probably would not have taken such a strong grip over his life if he did not have such a severe insomnia problem. Elvis was noticeably high during the Hawaii performance as well, but he put everything he had into looking as good as he could and performing as well as he could for this one show and it paid off and cemented his legacy. Elvis is the greatest ever.
Hi David ♥ I agree, any new footage is great to see. Love to see his hands with his rings on, sounds stupid but you know what I mean. Marty Laker said if Elvis did an interview and his sleeping pills hadn't completely worn off his speach was slurred and slower. Parker tried to move the interviews to later on in the day to try and combat this problem. Thank you David ❤ for showing us this footage it's fab xxx 💝
I thought the same thing David two different interviews one slower in his speech and the other one in his blue outfit he happy joyfully and talkive I notice the difference in Elvis in his interviews and you David finely mention about it . I allways wounder to why was Elvis like that . Thank you David for this vedio . I reckon got something to do with Tom Parker visa blocking Elvis travelling over seas it's Tom parkers who's blocking on what Elvis really should be doing hi from Sydney Australia . I miss Elvis ❤
This was the beginning of the end late 72, he was on fire and sounding and looking great as you say in MSG He had to be whipped into shape for Aloha 73 then he went down hill again. He ofcourse had some great ups again, but Elvis Aloha (more the rehearsal show) was at his best for the final time.
There's an interview with Marty Lacker, I think it's this interview he was talking about, he says it was the sleep medication and that the interview was just to early in the day.
Being under the influence or ill and being put on the spot is usually a bad combination. Particularly where you're not "meant to" be and where everyone else is sober...The contrast with the msg conference is stark. My mind is drawn to something I was telling a friend about a while back. This is years on but a similar idea. Listen to the way he speaks before performing Unchained Melody at the piano in 77. Then listen to the way he speaks before performing Rags to Riches at the piano just a few months before in 76. In one he can barely speak and in the other he is charismatic/confident/cracking wise.

Dave,,This footage is Awesome,,I truly beleive EP knew that Col Parker had no Visa,,He just dealt with it and kept going,This problem truly put in Dent in his career. Also i beleive if Elvis went abroad to other Countries his behavior would have been different other then being stuck in Vegas numerous times.I also noticed in the Press conference with Elvis sitting down talking about the Aloha from Hawaii tour his speech is alittle slow and if you look thru the sunglasses his eyes are alittle slighted as well.Keep up the Great work,Your Pal,Keith from New Jersey *TCB
Yeah, and his breathing is labored and he was sweating a lot. These two press conferences I was just isn’t right. Compare these to the Houston Astrodome and Madison Square Garden night and day difference! Glad you like the video and yes it is possible that Elvis knew he just didn’t do anything about it, there is some info out there saying that Elvis picked up a fan magazine in 1977 where an article suggested that Parker was not a citizen
Thanks so much,,In talking about the Houston Astrodome press conference i really didnt pick up on Elvis being off that day,,,,,,,,,,,,,,@@ElvisistheMan_

It would have been nice if I received credit for putting this press conference together. This was taken from my King to Legend documentary that was written up on Elvis Information Network. I agree with your comments but again I put the November press conference together with audio and transcription.
Well, thank you sir. If I would’ve known, I would’ve said it in this video. Thanks for your work and I’ll pin this in the comments.
Thank you. ⚡️

He’s still SO gorgeous! And those eyes! It’s just easy to look over all the negative stuff when you’re watching him! 😊
New ones were added, at times, that's why he grew bored , same songs, different cities, no challenges,
He was offered star in remake.
The fact that we can be critical actually makes us bigger fans because we can accept Elvis even with all his faults....seems to me you cant do that because of how offended you get when someone decides to do it.
its called pressure no matter what though hes the king tcb elvis⚡
Elvis is and will be #1 forever in my book of life!!! He had great pressure on him..but always pulled thru. The joy and life for love of music CAME FROM HIM !! RESPECT AND LOVE IS WHAT I WILL ALWAYS HAVE FOR HIM !!!!!!!!!
I get on u tube everyday to see & hear Elvis.
& then needed uppers/ amphetamines to jumpstart, th same over again
,Th one from Aloha, Jan. 73, was early morning, 10ish, & had probly taken his sleep meds, as was mumbling, almost nodded off ..
Aloha was a much calmer, not as much animated , as th NYC Madison Gard. .. One of his best !!
@@Memow-pk1ng …just know that what I wrote to that specific interview is fact.

@@kevindaniels8007Not sure about that totally. Yes he was on a 500 calories/day but he had to take other meds because of his other disorders. He was always in some kind of pain from the diseases/disorders he had that affected 9 of the 11 systems in our bodies. Elvis was a sick man.
He’s still the greatest ever! I wish I could have seen him in concert .
He was INCREDIBLE in concert!!! Only saw him three times in concert but he was the best!!!
Loved seeing new footage! Maybe he was just still tired! Love him unconditionally! ❤ ty
Even watching Elvis in concert now is so thrilling! My heart beats fast & its like Im watching him live! Elvis & his music will forever be my love💜💜

Marty Lacker said when he was interviewed too early in the day, before his sleep meds wore off, he would sound like this. He was a night owl.
I love hearing elvis talk he looks so good
Elvis always seemed reticent about public speaking, Even the Madison interview has moments of hesitation and stuttering.

Yeah, but why would he slur his speech like that? You would think that you would perk up if there’s cameras on you, you know?
@ElvisistheMan_ I agree. He seemed fine at June 72 press conference. Then but On uppers September 72' & 2 months later in November he was probably on downers & acted like someone shot him with a tranquilizer. And they never did a press conference again after November 72' one.😢

Great find. Perhaps, most likely they held the conference at the wrong time. EP would have either been too tired, or not fully awake or recovered from his sleeping pill induced sleep.
He's still fabulous as always 💯⚡❤
He doesn't sound too bad to me! He seems less livley and you can sense a sadness that wasn't there at the Madison Square Garden Conference.
Thanks for posting this I am always excited to see something new with him
I don’t know, David… The Good Lord made him so outrageously handsome it’s hard to tell.
He certainly looked awesome here.
I saw this footage quite a while ago. Really nice to see him talk. And I find him doing quite okay. ❤
Anything new that I can watch from Elvis is always appreciated! And yes he is talking a little slow. But I still love it! Thank you.
Sleeping pills are narcotics. Hate to burst your bubble
Kathy Westmoreland told too, that he was tired, and wish the interview would be taking later .
At higher doses, sleeping pills produce the same drowsy, feel-good effect as their highly addictive counterparts, benzodiazepines. Sleeping pills can also produce hallucinatory effects when an individual takes the drug but fights the urge to sleep. So yea...he was high.
He was high. There's no need to ignore the facts as it's been nearly 50 years since he died. We can take it and life will go on
He was on sleeping medication during the press conference.
----------- Yes, the earliest recorded Elvis stuttered, stammered a bit like Bob Newhart, if you're family with him.
@@scsu5085 I forgot about the classic Bob Newhart routine on the phone. Lol😂
Thank you.

Don't know if you can pull off interviews after doing so many shows in so little time. Yes sleep meds are in his system 😢😢
Elvis fan forever 💗cheers from Australia 🇦🇺 thankyou, thankyou.😍
Yes, I believe that he wasn't quite ready to be awake and doing interviews. I mean, he still looked half asleep.
Ever so subtle, turning the focus!
Marty Lacker did blame it on sleeping pills regarding Elvis' speech and demeanor.
Nice to see additional footage aside from the snippets we've all seen. I'm sure the full length video is out there somewhere
Marty Lacker said the press conference was scheduled too early the sleeping pills hadn't wore off yet. So the influence was sleeping pills. Lacker said he was definetely not stoned.
Love the new intro
There is no mystery here about Elvis' sluggishness.Last night I heard Joe Krein's interview with Marty Thacker.Thacker said Parler scheduled this interview before Elvis,' sleep med had a chance to wear off.The interview was set too early. You can google many interviews Joe Krein or Kleine has on Elvis Express radio.Thackerr has 4 interviews. He has several more with people who knew Elvis.
U mean Marty LACKER..? He was referring to th one from Aloha, J 73.
Thank you for your comment. Your opinion is the same as mine. He was on unneeded amounts of “medication.”
Marty Lacker mentions that he had not totally shaken his nighttime meds and Parker set the interview time to early…
Personally I think some of it was just his accent.
Elvis worked so hard his entire career and gave so much of his time and energy to fans and people in general. God knows what he was going through at this time. He was the greatest ❤️
The reason that Elvis didn't tour over seas is because Parker was an alien and couldn't get a passport
Awesome 👏 intro
I think his dreams were broken, and just gave up
It was th horrible , greedy Col. P. ..Elvis wanted be serious actor,.. he admired James. Dean. & Brando.. but th Col kept him making th same silly, same plot mvies, that knew were money makers. Been perfect in remake. Star Is Born, but Babs was getting top billing, & Col. nixed it
Then over booked concerts, Col. worked Elvis to death !!
I think you might be right. His health was not good and he was under so much pressure from everything. It's hard for a man to live up to
He was human just like us and so maybe his life was out of control and he didn't know where to go or what to do. 😢
Thanks for another great video, I think your analogy is spot on!
Fantastic find Elvis looks great but yeah he was slurring his words, it takes a while for sleep meds to were off
Great… thanks for sharing… I also Love the intro ❤❤❤
Elvis il piu'bello💐♥️🤭 affascinante del mondo
Gosh I still love him.
Issa very priiivaaaalllaagge 😂😂 this is the exact word tht comes to mind when i think about this press conference LOL the way you say it! Great minds think alike
Thanks for sharing this video my friend
Hey david cool video my friend never saw this before. this video keep cool work you do for us elvis fans round the world
I was 10 years old when Elvis died, and I thought I had seen every video footage of him in existence.
Loved this - amazing footage. I don't care if he was slow or not - he's the King regardless 🤩
You're correct. He does seem impaired more than tired. AMAZING how he could get on stage and you'd never know the difference. G.O.A.T.
Great find ❤ thank you 🙏
Hi David ♥
I agree, any new footage is great to see.
Very cool. I haven't seen this footage before either. I find it very interesting that it was his last press conference. Colonel's doing?
I think it had most to to with the pills he was taking and the amounts at each times you’re referring to
@@ElvisistheMan_ I think you're right yeah. Thanks for sharing the footage btw. Was new to me too.
From th book by Sonny, RedWest, Dave H, " Elvis What Happened"" as they put it Elvis was a " walking drugstore", ! That's what he was, .. that last concert tour, Jun21, 26, he was a sick man, w/ many health problems,.. Good thing have it to remember by,.. but was just obscene disgraceful on Col part to allowE Elvis be seen in that bad shape!! All Col cared abt was$$$ !
Elvis is struggling to get thru, difficulty breathing, sweating, but delivrs bone chilling version, so sad,
@@Memow-pk1ngreason he had health problems is because medication abused as parker goes if elvis wanted to fired he would have but he didn't
@@thomasandersen2938No he had to take certain meds,. Opioids, painkillers, bcz had health problems, . but th over abuse of all those caused constipation, that was partly to blame for heart failure, as they had caused to damage his heart. His unhealthy diet of fatty , fried foods, ( he loved those fried Peanut butter, banana, bacon sandwiches !) Caused. his obesity, hi BP, clogged arteries..
I say he could had been tired. He didn’t sleep a lot also.
Due to his schedule, doing shows, an afternoon & midnight, he be wound up & stayed up till 4-5am, then needed strong sedatives. ( prescribed by DrNick) to sleep till 3-4pm, then needed uppers/ amphetamines to wake up & do his shows, was a vicious circle,
New to me. Love seeing this!!
Thank you✝️❤️
