  • In continuation of my "Short Takes" video series at All City Auto, I give a tour of a 1999 GMC Sonoma flare side. I take viewers on a close look through the interior and exterior of this truck while showing details, over viewing of features, and noting unique styling cues to the vehicle itself. I also show the engine and the details of it, start it up and see how it sounds under acceleration. A thorough tour/review of this truck designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.

I had the V6, one of my favorite cars I've owned. It felt like GM put some thought into these. Not perfect, but you're glad you bought it.

I remember that instrument panel :) Except the Oil Guage went hellfire and the oil guage is over to the right below the highest number. I think it was because I accidentally wired the gauge wrong so I bought a new one on the dashboard! looks good.

Because Spanish guys are usually the ones that detail a car dealership's used car. A radio should never be left on in any car or truck because it's inconsiderate to blast a customer with the radio. Just a policy I developed a while working as a sales managers assistant on the lots of several large car dealerships. Customers are only interested in the car and the sound of the engine to begin with. The radio comes later when the atmosphere relaxes. People are always nervous when they meet a new car salesperson and begin to get aquainted with he or she and a car they might buy. A radio playing is out place at this time. That's just my two cents worth. Feel free to take it or leave it. Probably wouldn't matter unless you've worked as a person in charge of the lot at a car dealership.

@mustang633NY Durability? Yeah, I've never seen a Delco radio stop working. Sound? The sound is pretty bad. The one good thing about the Delco radios is they are easily taken out and replaced with aftermarket radios.

@talldude123 im talking torque, horespower gets you up to speed, torque gets you moving, i find torque more important because it is the rotational force, i have a 8000 lb camper, i can't tow it with 140 lb ft of torque ( 2.2 ) neither can i tow it with 171 lb ft ( 4.3 ) so i say they are both shit engines because the 4.0 in my brother's explorer puts out 240 lb ft, and it's smaller .

My dad's 2003 Impala key unlocks the doors on his 2005 GMC Sierra 1500, as well as starts the truck with a bit of wiggling. There's only so many key patterns so they eventually get recycled through different generations of cars.
