I have a theory that Eddie Jones brought Joe Marler back in not only for his Rugby qualities but more importantly because he knew he would bring a sense of comfort and confidence in the locker room through his humor, loosen the boys up.

I’m a 26 year old lifelong football fan. And I’m guilty of riding the wave with England doing well but I have to say it’s been really refreshing to see actual personalities in press conferences.

England: undisciplined and arrogant
South Africa: humble and disciplined
These differences played a huge role in the outcome (in my opinion).
These guys acted like a complete bunch of fools - cocky, arrogant, immature disrespectful and uncivilized...they weren't funny at all!

Whilst i'm gutted England lost the world cup and congratulations to South Africa.. i think winning this competition is about the sport and doing well by rugby.. The issues that seem to take prior position when S.A. wins a world cup is trying to bring a nation together.. either due to a dark recent past or currently corruption thats destroying the country.. This isn't a snide comment.. But lets have a look at what should just be people celebrating a world cup win..will be wonderful 1 day if you're country can just celebrate a win in a sports comp... Lets hope that ages well.

Take a few moments next time to consider England's role in the issues that many of its former colonies face today, the current state of your own country and its identity crisis before passing any judgement. South Africa has more problems than most, and media storms aside, the majority of us are realistic in our suggestions that this win won't do much more other than serve as a well-earned reason to celebrate together, and potentially serve as a catalyst to draw more people to the sport in the country. Barring all that, it has allowed the top South African sporting personalities to make comments of concern about how our country is being run on the international stage, so yeah, lets hope that ages well.
