Alf,
Doc Harley has a video about changing the battery and even tho Harley says its ok to pull main fuse with power turned on, he highly recommends not to, says the electronics do not like the power disrupted when power is on. His procedure is as follows:
Turn power on, let everything set and alarm clear, turn power off and before the alarm sets, pull main fuse then! You have a few seconds to do that, more than enough time, doing it this way will totally avoid any possibility of shocking the electrical system since the power is turned off. Check out his video. Cheers
Ok interesting cheers
Forgot to say that I found the Revelator Alf videos because of a blown fuse on my trickle leads. I had no idea that they were built in on the newer softails! Thanks again!
Thanks so much. Cheers
From the thumbnail I thought Les Stroud started doing motorcycle maintenance. Great vid my friend, very helpful.
ha ha I'd never heard of him until now
RevelatorAlf He’s the real deal, makes Bear Grylls look like a girl scout by comparison. While Bear has an entire crew including cameramen, medics, hotel stays, scripted encounters, etc. Les Stroud hits the wilderness with nothing but a backpack full of his filming equipment and a couple scavenged items to demonstrate survival skills and a satellite phone for emergencies. Admittedly, I’m a Bear Grylls fan but your doppelgänger is a man among men!
@@MaxwellFaro Ah OK. There's a fella here on TV which I really like too. Ed Stafford who puts himself in difficult situations with little to nothing to help himself too. Cheers
Thank U. You the only person I found to explain in detailed but simple terms how to do this. Now I can change the battery on my fat Bob
Cheers
Ok, Revelator Alf, thanks much. I've seen this video a while ago but had forgotten. I'm trailering my 2020 Low Rider S and am bothered by that nasty Harley Alarm flashing lights, draining my battery. Thanks again, you're my "go to guy"
Cheers Jack glad it helped
Check manual for transport mode
As with your other video on removing the battery, it's those extra little details the other videos (also good vids, mind you) leave out that answers all my questions on how to do it. Good stuff!
Thanks Ken. Glad they’re helpful. Cheers
Thanks for this, just used this and your battery removal tutorial, however afterwards I have the engine management light came on. Everything seems fine. It will go out eventually. My bike is a 2021fat boy.
Very good. Thank you. Just 1 thing, by having the bike 'on' when removing the main fuse, the sudden power cut could 'shock' the ECM or other modules. This may not be an issue most times, but this shock can be avoided by turning the bike on, once the alarm has deactivated, turn the bike off and within a few seconds (before the alarm reactivates) remove the main fuse.
This is the correct procedure for these bikes with the alarm and fob however other bikes will be different. Cheers
Another useful video, well done.
Thanks so much
Thanks for the video.. Just installed a new Cam and this was the first step. it all helps.!
Great videos helping me to understand my Low Rider S - so glad to have found Revelator Alf on You Tube; thanks!
Thanks. Glad you’re enjoying. Cheers
Much Appreciated Alf,,Very timely as I need to do this to begin installing my Smart security Siren and I didn't know where exactly the Fuse was or How exactly to Do it...All these videos are So important and at times save money ,,Thanks Again.
Thanks Paul, much appreciated. Enjoy
Thanks for helping me out buddy 🙂
Thank U Dunedin. FL, USA 🛠
Great videos! I appreciate the maintenance tutorials and information.
cheers
Are there any fuses related to the speedo and tach on the softail m8 platform? Been trying to resolve a blank dash and can’t find a fuse for it.
Thanks guy this was really helpful THAT DAMM ALARM 🚨
You really are a big help. We have the same bike 🤙 more power to your channel
Awesome, thank you!
@@RevelatorAlf welcome from Philippines 🤟
Good help big man . Cheers
Thanks mate.
Hi! Thank you for this video! What should I do if the battery is dead and the ignition doesn't turn on, but the security siren is triggered when the battery is replaced?
Pull the main fuse before installing the battery and try that
Thanks from Italy! Great. 😉
Thank you for the video
Cheers
Hey!
What size fuse goes into the other system power that has the blue coloured clip on it?
Thanks!
So do you leave the IGN on? You just hit the run. On a breakout you have an ignition and a run switch
really helpful - great stuff thanks
Cheers
Hi
Which O2 sensor should I buy for my FXSB Breakout 2014
Denniskirk is claiming theirs better from oem as they are made with ceramic body made of stabilised zirconian dioxide, surface coated with gasspermeable platinum electrodes & porous ceramic help erosion due to contamination particles in exhausts
Thanks a lot mate😎
Cheers
Thanks 😊
Nice Alf. Thanks. Need to pull mine, saved me hours of trawling a manual! Bacoin butty for you then!
Good man
Is this the same for the 2019 FXBB? Thanks for the video
Yes if your bike has the fob alarm
Thanks Alf for the info...appreciate it...By any chance do you have an idea how to adjust a brake pedal on a Softail? I have been searching for it, but it seems like a secret or maybe it’s too easy, so no one is talking about it...:)....Thanks again for sharing and stay safe
Hi Rami yes there is a way. I have a video coming out about that very soon. Cheers
RevelatorAlf GREAT, I am looking forward..cheers mate
What you have on the 2019 and up harley,s. Having brake rotors rivets loose
Most 2019 bikes and up have floating discs so it depends how much movement you have. Not had many reports of issues to be fair. Cheers
Do you have the ignition on
Do you remove the main fuse before you charge the bike?
No need to do that. I would invest in a trickle charger aka battery tender and that will help you out. Cheers
@@RevelatorAlf would it do any harm if I did?
Cheers for the reply and help from ireland
Thanks, I couldn't remove the battery without setting off the alarm
Glad it helped
I bought a speaker for my 2020 Softtail standard with the fob security system. I’m trying to run the one wire to the ignition fuse so it doesn’t kill my battery. Would this be the same process you talked about here?
No, this is the bike main fuse which you should pull before doing any electrical work to your bike. Ok the best thing to do is stop what you're doing and go get an accessory harness either for the front end or for under the seat. Then attach your speaker and sound system to that. If you go to your dealership they'll tell you which parts. I have a couple of videos coming out very soon explaining this whole process too. Cheers
@@RevelatorAlf alright thanks I’ll keep my eye out. Also the speaker I have does have a harness included with it already. It has the red positive, green ignition, and black ground wires with the c clamps on the ends so I can just add them to the screws. I just didn’t know where to plug the ignition one in being the first Harley and new one at that, that I’ve ever owned and didn’t want to mess up the security system and kill the battery.
Yes the harness allows it to be powered on ignition switch. Cheers
@@RevelatorAlf nice thanks, we have sally coming near us right now so I’m gonna have to wait until the storm blows over and I’m gonna get to work on it
Be safe. Cheers
Torx size for the compartment?
Which compartment are your demands for?
i have a 2005 fatty efi & it's electrics are dead, no life in it all, cannot locate main fuse ? its doing my nut in so any help will be much appreciated.

Which bikes are you referring to exactly?
v handy Alf
Cheers
