Thank you for a common sense video that shows exactly what I wanted without stupid, drunk commentary,or long winded opinions. I will use your You Tube videos in the future.
@@RevelatorAlf However, i really do think my "chirp" has gone for a duck as it's just stopped working without me turning it off :( But I will be following for any future videos :)
Apparently this feature is not available on 2020 Softail models, I mean that if you have a siren fitted, it's going to chirp everytime you turn the ignition on and off, no way of going "silent" mode. I fitted the "missing" siren on my 2020 Softail Standard and haven't been able to disable the chirp with this procedure. I've tried several combinations and different timings with no success. Finally they tried at the dealership with no luck and told that this is not working anymore (at least here is Spain). Anyways, it is a bit more secured now with all the chirps :) Thanks for the videos and the excellent work! Cheers from Barcelona
Just came across this video at a time when I was thinking I should turn on the alarm chirp on my 2020 Bagger!. Thank you for clarifying!. I suspect that Harley is cutting manufacturing costs across its model line. In marketing speak its sold as “you asked for it, and we listened!!”. How would Harley know that a lot of owners turned off the alarm chirp?. They are notoriously poor at communicating with their customer base, and dealers would not be reporting that as they often turned off the chirp during servicing?!. The 2021 baggers have now got a cable clutch, and I am looking forward to the explanation!!. I also wonder what else they changed?.
I am going to get an HD dealership to fit Road King alarm since left off 2020 models- will chirp mode be selected automatically? Your clips identified the omission - dealership never told me! So thanks for info👍
Hi Alf, great video I've been going crazy trying to put chirps on ONLY to find out that my 2020 sports glide no longer has this feature , I've been advised by my dealer that all newer bikes no longer have a siren fitted, anyway I hope this helps Graham from down under AUS 👍👍👍👍
@@deborahwilson2916 Yes it does ridiculous no cheerp or alarm fitting a new siren is not easy depending on bike. fitting a cheaper aftermarket one may give Harley a warranty out!
Hi great video👍 just bought my Sport Glide here in Sydney. No chirping when turned off nor is there an alarm sound when fob is out of range and I move the bike. Is the alarm not standard I wonder?
Ah I think there is a slight setting change for 2020. If you go through setting you could change it back but depends on the market as it might not be on the bike, in which case it has to be added but check with your HD dealership for clarification Cheers
@@RevelatorAlf yes will do tomorrow. I am particularly enjoying your videos now as you focus on the Sport Glide. Being an owner of one it has relevance. Keep going with them!👍👏👏🏍
Hi there. Did you find out why your alarm isn't chirping? Was it because the siren wasn't fitted? There is an optional extra for 2020 models from Harley or there is one on ebay for considerably less too. Hope this helps. Cheers
@@RevelatorAlf hi yes apparently its an optional extra which is why mine doesn't chirp. I'll get it added at first service. Also the reason my saddle bag lock doesn't work is that when my bike arrived at the dealership there was a scratch on the bag so they swapped bags but didnt change the lock which explains why its so damn hard to get on and off so it'll need replacing
That's interesting, although I think I prefer to let everyone know there's an alarm armed on my bike when I park up in public. Also in my manual (for the Street 750) the process is actually detailed on page 42.
Hi buddy, I have the sport glide too, so, I have two FOB´s , but one FOB don´t work, I change battery, but not solve, I would you like to know if have some thing to recover the programming ? Thanks
i got a 2019 fat bob. dealer told me bike is equipped with alarm but siren is optional if i wanna buy it. is the siren good thing to have? why so many of you set it on silent mode? should i not bother buying the siren for it?

Great vid just been out and turned the beep back on been on silent and wanted the beep
Keep up the good work 👏

I don't like the chirp but it does let everyone know that your bike is alarmed. Useful to know. Thanks.

Thanks so much. Yes they’ve really messed this up with the 2020 bikes. Cheers
Working perfectly on my 2014 Road King
Thanks for this video. Been scratching my head for a couple of days and this was really easy to follow. Nice work sir.
Thanks so much Dan. Glad it helped

Yes, I wonder if they bring the chirp back too. Cheers
Thanks for the video, I believe the 2021 Fat Boy Do Not have this option, you have to probably buy something to have the Chirp enabled.

Hi so since the 2020 don't have a siren does this mean it is silent with no audible alarm.

My dealer did it when i bought the bike thank goodness.Thing is it still "Chirps" when moved from the stand once in a while (of course fob in pocket).
Great video but I think that my Lowrider ST does not have the biep biep. 🤔
Thanks, I thought the alarm had gone faulty, I had switched the sound of accidentally :)
Got an 08 Dyna, I've tried following the owners manual so many times on how to turn the chirp mode on that I don't think the Bike has that option LOL

I would say there is a fault with it. Best take it to a dealership to see what they can do for you
@@RevelatorAlf Thanks brow
I like the chirp enabled on my Fatboy, that way I know everything is working

Well not sure why anyone would want it in silent mode either but some do I suppose
Man, I like the chirp
Thanx man!
Koos van Zyl you’re welcome cheers
So in the US we have to pay the Harley tax to get a siren installed first :(
Oh really. I wonder why that is? And why it’s not a stock part of the bike over there? Cheers
@revelatorAlf we all wonder that over here too. Cheers
Well that explains why it wouldn’t work for me!
79 dollars pluse install if you dont want the headache
🙏
Do all newer bikes come with the siren installed Justin silent mode
I believe the Harleys do either with silent or Chirp mode, certainly all the softails. Cheers
@@RevelatorAlf thanks I got my 19 and I never knew they had an alarm included I'll check
So sad US Harleys do but have sirens it only flashes when tempered with
Now if there was a way to turn it all off for good. Security is worthless except for draining my battery. A good disc look is much better
I take it the alarm will still operate if the bike is disturbed.
Stephen Fleming yes this is merely to turn off the arming and disarming chirp sound. Cheers
Cant do it, make me sick
Same for me
This still makes no sense
