5:00, look at those frikkin' traps. That's why I love training traps more than anything, has to be one of the most dominating and powerful looking muscle and feature on the male physique.
i dont think tjis dude did a single rep of smith machine or dumbbell shrugs in his life. those are purely a result of heavy ass squats, snatches and clean&jerks. isolatioon training is overrated af

And if so why does it help these athletes?
Isolation exercises are useful to Olympic weightlifters in regard to the added benefits from that exercise.
Ex: someone had a weak over head due to weak core and back. Now after months of core and back ext. They are now able to overhead squat with ease and better form even at maximal weights.

Im surprised at the precarity of their equipment. Those squat racks seem not really meant for such high level usage, and there's no back extensions bench. Yet, amazing athletes
It just seems that way, but everything that they use and the way they use it is next level. Back extension bench puts too much pressure on the joints and the spine.
They keep it simple because they train all over the place, for back extensions they stack weights and have his trainers hold his legs
Those squat stands look pretty good to me. Stands are typically rated to at least 350 kg. Most quality ones are tested to 450+ kg.
But you'll rarely see any full/half power racks in a traditional weightlifting gym. It's much more cost- and space-efficient to pull stands onto the platform when it's time to squat.
i dont think those are their usual squat racks
they're the racks provided by the IWF venue
they usually use their own wooden racks
They are at a different location here, so had to use what they could get

You mean the one at 9:10 ? Thats a great exercise tbh, but do smaller steps with your feet wide apart to keep the tension. Also focus on your knees, if they fall to the inside choose a different band or narrow down your stance a bit.

I'm surprised they don't have a bench to do those back/core exercises with the bar on his neck. Having to have another guy hold your legs is fine but would make more sense to have a bench for these kinds of things.

Literally comfort.. everyone is different
That's a weightlifting belt. A wide one is obstructive in the movements. So even for squats they use tapered belts because that's what they're used to brace with.
I have a 13mm powerlifting belt and if you try to squat deep without, it really digs into your ribs. Really painful.
When you are that strong 300 lb might feels like 30 lb to us lol

What is the scar on the collar bone from? The other guy holding him down during back raises has one as well just like it.
It’s a callous built up from holding the front rack position, so from catching the bar in a clean, front squatting, etc. i think people have said it’s from an uneven collar bone, hence only one side having it
