      Light(or none)weight knee oscillation is good to stimulate bloodflow to the knee. So it could be good as a warm up, to help recover...
      If you add a bit of tension, or even "high" one, it can also help work your quads. You can see them always adding knee band statics for couple of minutes after workout.
      Overall it's good for knee health (and they need to take care of that in weightlifting!)

      They do lots of heavy pulls off the floor. Snatch grip dead’s, clean pulls, will help build the back. Additionally they do accessory work with straight bar back raises, lat pull down machines, pull-ups and DB rows, Seal rows. The Olympic lifts all work the lower back and upper back well.
      On top of that they have been training for most of their life and are on steroids.

    Why do weightlifters sometimes stand on plates. Why not just lower the rack height and stand on the floor? Just curious that’s all

    • @Tomoi811
      @Tomoi811 3 года назад +19

      Are you referring to 7:15? My guess is that it was too much of a hassle to take off the weights to lower the squat rack (since the barbell is already loaded with plates). The extra clearance he gains from standing on the plates lets him safely do his rack holds.

      @@SP1x5 Maybe they set it up after regular squats, and avoid having to unload the bar to adjust height by just setting up playtes to stand on. And why not have it lower to begin with? They're probably used to unracking a squat at a certain height, and it might throw them off a bit if they unrack at a lower height. Also maybe they use the same rack, and they're different heights.

      Toes out is safer and provide better carry-over towards lifts I'd assume. Can you find anyone squatting toes straight these days?

    • @UziiTube
      @UziiTube 3 года назад +1

      when you are lifting the weight they lift almost every day having toes out is less force on your knee ligaments/tendons. if you are just a regular lifter you can definitely squat toes straight to strengthen your knees as long as you get proper recovery so you dont overdo it

    • @polgzz
      @polgzz 3 года назад +1

      That heavily depends on one's hips anathomy (your hip socket). You don't have many degrees that you could work with (if you really go down).
      One angle will fit the head of your femour right in your hip socket, others won't.
      It is more of a coincidence that they have similar angles.

      Provides better stability and support.
      Try squatting that deep and heavy with your toes straight and you’ll end up injuring yourself. Some can get away with it but most no way.
      But most people don’t squat correctly.

      lu xiaojun has been the same his entire life and he’s still living healthy and happy today. tian tao is an obvious natural too. both of their frames are consistent with their mass, but some of the other lifters in the program like chen and shi probably do use peds though not even close to the amounts your below-average body builder would use. keep in mind that this is not the west and they are not all insecure body dysmorphic snowflakes who dont mind skipping steps and blaming failures on everyone but themselves and the mentality is to do right things the right way or failure is deserved. dont assume everyone is like you.

      @@obrad79 Yes the old "you're naive if you think high performers are natural" that helps you cope with your mediocrity but applies perfectly in the West. Once again, the East is not the West. If China wants to save face and truly wants natural lifting they can and will be imprisoned for using steroids, if China wants to appear natural they will be mostly natural while finding small loopholes. If China needs to abuse something they will get to a point where they do not. I'll repeat once again that the mass and muscle definition is consistent with the frame and training/career duration of most of them.

      Laymen love to attribute the results of Olympic athletes to doping and there is no doubt that many athletes are using drugs that are not detected by doping tests. However, it is simplistic to claim that a weightlifting athlete or sprinter is using steroids. Steroids are drugs that are easy to detect by doping tests and even when an athlete uses out of season, their performance tends to decline after use, so any experienced athlete and trainer knows that oscillating the dose of steroids is not a smart thing
