Pure marketing bs for unaware consumers.
Thank you Joost and everyone at Appelboom for always showing us tours, interviews, and educating us on the history of these fountain pen makers.
You are very welcome, we appreciate your support
Absolutely love this brand. The devotion to one of the oldest forms of art is extraordinary and I find every single one of my Mont Blanc pens is a joy to write with. I’m still waiting though to purchase a beautiful 149, I plan on buying and keeping it as an heirloom for my kids and their kids etc. using it only to sign important documents and for use in celebratory as well as somber life events. Truly an awesome company.
Beautiful beautiful amazing tour! Thank you Joost!!!
There is just so much elegance and richness in history about how this brand has evolved throughout the years!
The heritage of Montblanc is overwhelming
I'm glad to see they have this record of their company's history. My collection is mostly vintage, and I've found it difficult to get information on a lot of pen models because either the company is gone, or the company never saved their history.
And, yes, my collection does include 5 vintage Montblanc pens!
With Montblanc Vintage you know for sure that you can find all the data
The artistry and creativity that went into designing the Montblanc Haus is spectacular. You were very fortunate, Joost, to be able to take a tour. Thank you for such an inspiring video.
The High Artistry writing instruments are truly amazing!
What a superb tour! Thank you so much!
It was amazing to be there
I’ve had my meisterstuck classique for over 20 years. The refills are around $18 US now, but worth it. I use it daily.
Thank you for sharing this tour!

Guess I'll have to go to Hamburg soon :) Also thank you for the inspiration and contribution in spreading the word of the beauty of these high quality writing instruments (and pieces of art)!
You should definitely visit the Montblanc Haus
Great video, THANK YOU!
Thank you for watching
Thanks for this Joost! What an amazing tour. I absolutely love every one of your "How It's Made" videos. I have two Mont Blanc fountain pens: a 146 and a Chopin. I have used my Chopin literally every day for the past 19 years. Out of the 50 or so fountain pens in my collection, it is far and away my favorite! I did cheat a little by having Richard Binder regrind the nib to a 0.4 mm Cursive Italic:) Thanks again!
Thank you for your support! A special nib always makes a fountain pen even more unique
Wow 🥳Amazing, very beautiful, you are very lucky to see.
It was indeed beautiful!
Thank you so much Joost for this tour 😊
Thank you for watching!
This video is simply amazing!
Thank you!
Lovely video, beautiful pens
They do have some amazing pens
What a beautiful place and a great story. When my Dad found out about my interest in fountain pens he gifted me his Mont Blanc Meisterstuck that was pres ented to him in the 1980’s when he was sworn in as a Federal Judge. It’s a gift I will always treasure and I will pass down to my daughter. Thanks for sharing, I hope I can visit one day. On another note, I purchased one out of the two turquoise Leonardo limited edition FP’s from you at the DC Pen, I’m really enjoying it, I now have my eye on a couple of other Leonardo pens.
What a beautiful story about your Montblanc! Glad to read that you enjoy the Leonardo and we are happy to help you grow your Leonardo collection!
Absolutely like ur videos. Keep up the good work Joost

Beautiful presentation. Montblanc has made high quality instruments. But I remember pens being more affordable years ago. Now, they are far beyond my capabilities to purchase one. 😔
Unfortunately everything in life is more expensive now. Afraid to go to the gas station nowadays
@@AppelboomPennen if they made a Meisterstück with a steel nib, that would be fantastic.
Paul, there are more than a few 1950's & '60's Montblanc vintage models with steel nibs, & they are excellent writers. Do not make the mistake that a gold nib is superior to steel, Chromium-Nickel, or indeed any semi-precious metal - it is the tuning & attitude (angle) at which a nib is cut, tipped & ground that makes the difference, & ultimately, the performance & handwriting style of the user.
@@andrewtongue7084Thank you. I do not have any negative feelings towards any nibs made with other than gold. I have many pen made with steel nibs. I will investigate the vintage pens. Maybe the company would consider using steel nibs again. It would not detract their prestige. Rather, it may enhance their presence.
Precisely, Paul, but unfortunately it is as with many things in life - the most obvious solutions are often ignored - & it is why Pelikan (another German manufacturer) make entry level, inexpensive, yet stunning pieces to this day. I do own a few Montblanc scribes, admittedly, but then I've been using fountain pens for over thirty years, & my collection is a summation of that duration; of course, back in the day, high-end pens were (relatively) more affordable, however MB have become something of a niche market - & that's unjustifiable - in terms of their overheads to produce quality writing instruments. I have nothing against MB per se, but they've lost touch with the business they're engaged in, & that is a shame; that is their modus. Might I suggest you look carefully (if you haven't already) on say, e-bay; there are some good examples of pre-owned Mesiterstuck models at reasonable prices: The key, obviously, is the business end (nib), & what I've found is that the older generation issues are better than the brand new contemporaries. 70% of my entire collection are used pens, & they write very well. Obviously, I don't know what your budget is, so I'm not going to insult your intelligence by speculating, but I wish you well in your hunt for pens that bring both satisfaction & enjoyment,
Andrew 🙂
There is one MB I’d like to have but the price is so high idk if I’ll ever buy it (it is around 700 euro that’s a lot for me). It’s a pretty pen though.
Maybe one day…
In this video, the music is louder than the speaker's voice thus making the information difficult. What a pity.
Thank you for the feedback
A stylish temple..
It is!
It's a montblanc museum!! Is it opening publicly?
Yes, you can enter it for a small admision
I owned a Hamburg Burgundy Hat also, go figure
Montblanc is simple the best
On top of the mountain

If you are not "I will only use expensive brand person", Jinhao gives the same experience for much cheaper price.
With all due respect to Jinhao, but you can’t compare it to a brand with such a heritage as Montblanc has. And if you state that the writing experience of the pens from both brands are the same. You don’t know what you are talking about.
@@AppelboomPennen May be porridge eaten with golden sppon tastes better. What I am saying is you can also eat with a stainless steel spoon and your stomach still gets filled if you have the right mindset.
It's perfectly reasonable to say that for most people, the value added by owning a Montblanc fountain pen isn't enough to justify the difference in cost between a Montblanc and a Jinhao.
It's true that Montblanc doesn't write 10x or 20x better than its Jinhao "equivalent". But to claim that a Jinhao writes "just as well" as a Montblanc (or, by extension, an upper-tier Pilot or Sailor) is just plain wrong.
All of them pen companies are the same selling something affordable at gold price.
I rather get a copy that is if I even wanted to, don't really like MB pen design at all, I favor demonstrators.
that aside, nice video.
Thank you for sharing your opinion
Do not understand a man in suit with no socks on !! Doesn't look right !
Welcome in 2022
It would be great if you got an English-speaker to voice over. - The accent, the articulation is really awfull.
I gave it a like, because I love to see it, I hope for more with anothe speaker.
Thank you for the feedback! Looking forward to see a video where you speak Dutch!
Overpriced lol
Thanks as always great content!
