That first book is a real treasure! I love the detail in the old sewing books. People didn't have computers and the books were vital. That's so nice that the author signed her couture book. Wow! I don't sew Burda patterns. I find them confusing. That book would be helpful. I've never seen a Japanese sewing book. All GREAT sewing books. My favorite of mine is the Better Homes and Garden Sewing book from 1961 rereleased in 1970. Such a work of art. Thanks for sharing your books. All very interesting! ❤❤
Thanks for sharing your books! I love Claire Schaefer and Alabama Studio books too. I have several boxes of sewing books that have been packed away as I'm setting up a new sewing space in an old cabin. I can't wait to get them out again.
what a great collection!I will be hunting for some of these titles. I have two flat pattern design textbooks that I occasionally dust off and use when adjusting a pattern. one title is "Fitting and Pattern Alteration". the other is "Principles of Flat Pattern Design".
Hi Katina. What a nice surprise to see you. I enjoyed seeing your sewing books. It’s like finding a brand new treasure when your reunited with your books, fabrics and favorite things. I have a Sewing Bible that I learn a lot from. I will have to look to see who it’s by. Have a wonderful week. ❤ Diann
@Silver_Threads_Sewing it is so special to be reunited with my books and fabric! I have heard about the sewing bible, and will definitely keep my eyes open for 1
What great books!! Thanks for sharing!! The plain cover couture sewing techniques looks like a good one. I'm going to see if I can find one second hand! I've been collecting a lot of sewing books lately!!
What a brilliant video. Thanks for the book suggestions. Have you seen the Pattern Magic series of books by Tomoko Nakamichi? They're amazing. You've inspired me to maybe do my own video where I discuss my favourite sewing books.
