Honestly, from only hearing your commentary on the video I can tell that you sound extremely excited. Congrats man! What a huge milestone for this project. BTW, the car sounds soo mean
I've watched every single episode and it's moments like these that make all the previous work worth it. It's different compared to those big car shows on TV that have entire teams and big budgets to spare, and don't go over every little detail. This is basically one man doing all the work himself. It sounds glorious!
Congratulations!! What a great sound! I'm a hardcore Ferrari man but if the engine has to be swapped, I'm glad you chose this Honda engine. The Ferrari 308 V8 is a fantastic engine, a robust gem. But hey, that Honda engine is a peach, a very clever choice for a lower budget. I can't wait to see your episodes from spanking it around a track!
Man, you deserve some special trophy for automotive madness! You are an inspiration to all petrolheads! I was always rooting for a V6 for this car, but I can’t deny your vision being unique !
Perfect car for a K24, really any rear or mid engine car with old crappy engines is perfect for the K platform. Awesome job! Sounds a bit like a 2-stroke, i think i would put a muffler on it personally to make it a bit more easy to drive to meets and stuff but im not really sure if you ever plan to street it. Why was smoke only coming out of one side of the exhaust?
Before you criticize the Old Man for his choices, you should remember a thing: the car was engineered in the mid 70, and the "turd" was a stock v8 producing 85hp/liter. I don't remember a single stock american NA v8 producing 85 hp/liter, but I remember stock american v8 producing some glorious 35-40hp/liter 20 years later, so if you are looking for turd, try searching closer. Oh, yeah, in 50 years something has changed in internal combustion engines, surely Ferrari parts are overpriced, but in his days none dared to call the ferrari 308 a turd. It did something good in competion too. I understand your choice, k24 is probably the best engine for your project. But it was not available in 1975, when the car was created. Beautiful creation, interesting project, it has a tremendous potential. Good luck and good work. ps I'italian, if someone had still a doubt...
American engines from the time are even bigger turds, I don't really know why you'd suggest that like its a "gotcha" moment. The Germans had it right during the time period. Ferrari should have looked to them, if you ask me.
Getting rid of the vetec seems silly, ? As it gives you low rpm street manners below 3500 rpm..also you gain power everywhere with vetec that’s the whole point of it..it’s like a dual cam…plus it helps with oil pressure drops..although I guess you’ve got enough addition oil pressure pumps that it probably doesn’t matter..I mean if your not going to street drive it, and only run the piss out of it, maybe you don’t need vetec, ???
It definitely sounds like you're misfiring a cylinder as my vtec killers sound/idle nothing like that. Check your duty/inj deadtime/ig timing but something sounds off. Either way vtec killers don't idle "bad" after you get it setup correctly.
Maybe it’s just me but I thought it sounded like absolute shit. Maybe it sounds better in person then through the microphone on the video. But that did not sound good at all. It sounded like a Yamaha R1 with a misfire. I’d rather listen to the 150 hp Ferrari engine or even a turbo Honda/Acura V6…but that’s just me. As long as you’re happy with it, congratulations!
When you first started the engine up it sounded like it was running on 2 cylinders. I only saw one exaust pipe smoking. The other one on the left did nothing. I have Ridium spark plugs in my Subaru from Auto Zone. They work awesome!
That’s rad bro ,so happy to hear it fire .Looking forward to seeing it roll out of the garage, first test drive with a sweet fly by , with some in car footage.
Sounds awesome and I know you’re more than pleased to be at this step in the build…can’t wait to see it on the ground rolling and what you do with it afterwards.
Ohhhh mannnn....holy shyte...I smiled the entire episode..very happy for you...it sounds insane..only at 5000 rpm..when that dude stood up.you knew this was some different shyte..congrats brother this is the build a the year..
The sound honestly kind of reminds me of a 2 stroke MotoGP bike, but deeper and a little 'sharper' for lack of a better word. Congrats man, I know you worked your ass off for this. Excited to see how it finishes out
Unreal. Braps so hard it's got rotary vibes. Sounds like a f*cking two stroke. I must have said OH MY GOD like forty times when it started up. Can't wait for the first drive video... And the first burnout... And donut... And its first fat tokyo-italiano drift... Hearing it redline under load. Damn. Hurry up bro!
Mike, I have been watching your build since almost the beginning. I’ve been checking daily for this episode, knowing what it’s supposed to be. You didn’t let us down, thanks! That K24 sounds absolutely rowdy too! I wouldn’t doubt the guys standing at the back could feel the pressure pops from the exhaust. Wish I was there in the cameras spot…. Maybe with some hearing protection….. Grats!
I looked away for a second and the sound of this thing reminded me of a weedeater... I realise it helps with the over all power, but can we take a page from some other super cars running turbos and full exhausts? A full exhaust setup will not dull performance if built right and it will change the tone just enough. Right now it sounds like every turbo honda ive come across because everyone dumps the exhaust out the hood. The build is great and im sure you will love it how ever it ends up.
Yeah, usually thats where ive seen them the most. I look forward to see how its finished no matter how its built. Some times the finished car brings it all together in ways you can only see when its done.
I have been watching so many videos and waiting to hear this thing run I'm so happy you got it to this point keep up the good work it's coming along great 😃.
Nice build. Everyone under estimates the power of a K24. I would put money on you against any stock 308. I'm building an MR2 w/ K 24 and your enthusiasm makes me excited for my build too.
CONGRATS!!!! That sounds so sick!!! I am putting one of these donks into an older BMW 320 and this just make me MUCH more keen to make similare noises :D Congrats again and well done to the whole team there!!
I’ve been binging this build and caught up to the end just in time for the first start. Amazing attention to detail, presentation and explanations throughout. This car incredible too, can’t wait for the rest of the series as it takes its final form 👍🏻 great work Mike
This engine is the perfect upgrade for the 308. It's much more efficent and the tecnology that runs it allows for more power from a much simpler and more reliable design. You can make any amount of power from the K24. It sounds like a race car and when you're revving to 9 or 10K it will be astounding. These front wheel drive combo's placed just in front of the rear wheels (ala the Muria) offer so much to owners of classic european sports cars to repower with smaller, more reliable and more powerful Japanese engines with modern transmissions. Anyone who is snooty about this kind of engine is not examining the engineering qualities that these mass produced engines, with very high quality casting and tooling used in their manufacture bring to the game. This car could well be very competitive, depending on the class entered and the state of the tune. Congratulations.
So youtube throw this channel to me out of the blue. Nice to see a cool project of a cool guy without a fame poisoned ego. Keep it real man. Good stuff.

I can't wait to see this thing fly down the road!
Sooo good. Even though you were a little far from the camera lens, you could still see that smile! Congrats Mike. Great milestone and so happy for you.
Sounds awesome man. Congrats!
One of the best car projects on RUclips.... Amazing. Thanks for fulfilling so many ppls dreams
Wow!!! That sound is perfection! Also, you should put on the BBS Pininfarina wheels on it now that would be kinda dope 🤙
Hooray for you... from a common man who drives an old Honda CIvic .
Well done sir, you are the only man that I have ever heard about who has made a Ferrari into a reliable vehicle.
Never clicked so fast.
I usually don’t comment but I have to for this video! Dude I’m so happy for you 100k subscribers and it STARTS!!! Sounds phenomenal too!
The 308 is gonna gain so much respect when it dominates Build Biology.
Why was smoke only coming out of one side of the exhaust?
one side is the exhaust, other side waste gate. i think
I think that bad boy sounds dope!!! Let's Go!!!! Congratulations Mike, it's definitely a great milestone to reach in the build.
That idle sounds so sick! Keep up the great work guys. Can't wait to see the rest of this build
So rad, it’s gonna be so light and that’s what will really give you an edge on the track over a v8 setup
A group of amazing engineers . Most advanced tech's on the net. The Ferrari is spot on
Getting rid of the vetec seems silly, ? As it gives you low rpm street manners below 3500 rpm..also you gain power everywhere with vetec that’s the whole point of it..it’s like a dual cam…plus it helps with oil pressure drops..although I guess you’ve got enough addition oil pressure pumps that it probably doesn’t matter..I mean if your not going to street drive it, and only run the piss out of it, maybe you don’t need vetec, ???
by far my favorite running build. I am Not even a Honda guy. Just a great concept. i want to see this girl on the track
It definitely sounds like you're misfiring a cylinder as my vtec killers sound/idle nothing like that. Check your duty/inj deadtime/ig timing but something sounds off. Either way vtec killers don't idle "bad" after you get it setup correctly.
What a beautiful moment..I literally got teary eyed..something I look forward to with my build. Congratulations 👏👏
It sounds like a 4 cylinder, so nothing special, a Honda Civic with a pipe and some tune that looks like a yellow Ferrari. So disappointing!
That’s rad bro ,so happy to hear it fire .Looking forward to seeing it roll out of the garage, first test drive with a sweet fly by , with some in car footage.
been following you since you started this build, to hear it fire up is sweet! Sounds amazing. Good work man!
Now THAT's what I'm talking about! I got over the whole V-8 thing after my first Ecoboost. Congratulations on this milestone, truly amazing!
I have been with german cars for all my life and the V8 was always just meh, best cars had V10 or V12.
This is one of the sickest builds on RUclips 🤘🏻
You absolutely got the correct spark plugs. During tuning start your plug gap at .017 As power increases you may or may not have to closecthe gap up.
Amazing mah dude!
Can’t wait to hear this thing under load. That’s when we will really get the appreciate this the most as viewers.
The sound honestly kind of reminds me of a 2 stroke MotoGP bike, but deeper and a little 'sharper' for lack of a better word. Congrats man, I know you worked your ass off for this. Excited to see how it finishes out
Awww yea congrats on hitting 100k. Love seeing the progress you’re making 🙌🏽.
One of my favorite builds...... Comes to life!!! Stoked for you!!!!
Came here to scream this is sacrilege but it’s well done as is the video, good job.
Grats!
The sound is Great ! It's Sounds really like an older Group car ! So cool can wait to See the Next Video
I've never heard a Honda that sounds anything like that outside of a drag strip.
Congratulations! It’s awesome to see how happy it makes you to hit a goal after watching all these videos
Just finished watching from episode 57 until the last nonstop !!! So satisfying man!
Gonna start watching from the first tomorrow 😍
Good for you! It's milestones like this that provide motivation to keep going. Can't wait to fire up my project for the first time
Super happy moment we all been waiting for at last! I am very happy for you, great project
When kid I want a Callaway HH V8 in that car but all the money and hard work you have done. Just WOW!
I liked this even before I watched it just because Ive been waiting for this video for so long!! So excited to hear/see it run!
Congrats man! I know the feeling and I’m glad for you. Love the enthusiasm as well. Looking forward to the next one.
CONGRATS!!!!
That sounds so sick!!!
I am putting one of these donks into an older BMW 320 and this just make me MUCH more keen to make similare noises :D
Congrats again and well done to the whole team there!!
You have a new subscriber in me. Just the battery box did it for me, what a build. My inner Honda fanboy is drooling on this.
I’ve been binging this build and caught up to the end just in time for the first start. Amazing attention to detail, presentation and explanations throughout. This car incredible too, can’t wait for the rest of the series as it takes its final form 👍🏻 great work Mike
Glad to see all of the hard work come together. The car sounds gnarly.
Really pleased to see you sooooooo happy with the result.
So youtube throw this channel to me out of the blue. Nice to see a cool project of a cool guy without a fame poisoned ego. Keep it real man. Good stuff.
Back here for another view! Been watching from the beginning and it never disappoints. Congratulations on your continued success with your channel
Congratulations!!!
I've been watching this amazing build.
I'm not a fan of the idle but the revs sound awesome. Im excited to see this build finished and what the engine puts out.
Never seen your channel before but man brother this is a crazy build and I’m super excited for the progress that she will be making on it in the future. Subscribed and can’t wait for more
That thing sounds so sick!!!!!!! Its been real cool watching from the start till now.
Sounds great. Almost there. Now the excitement. You should hear a all motor k-series with itbs. Talk about wicked.
