I think mentioning the difference in sound from online to real life is worth talking about. When you drove it into SEMA it shook the ground, it sounded like a proper full tilt racecar. In these videos it sounds a little like a lawnmower, which is a shame. Awesome work man! Keep it up!

It sounds rowdy! Probably just too loud for a regular camera mic to handle. I can't say I've ever recorded a racecar, but had similar problems filming live metal bands. The audio comes out all thin and distorted.

Your 'end of vid' talking-head segment is very relateable. I have, for much of my life, accused myself of procrastination. My midwestern work ethic has always made me to self-critical. However, in the last couple decades I have realized that putting things on hold and stepping away for a bit is a gift, as it allows you to get new perspective and usually avoid multiple 're-does', as rolling things around in your head can solve problems you didn't know you were going to face while rushing to some self-appointed finish line. Happy accidents need to be embraced and taken to heart.

Awesome, I hope it solves the burping issue, the burp bottle is the best way to monitor tour coolant system. Once the air is removed of several heat cooling cycles you monitor to burp bottle level, if it changes, somethings up with your coolant system. For it to work properly, everything must be sealed. No seal burp bottle level will change.
Good Luck, can't wait to see it rip 😁

I totally relate to you about the slog of putting stuff together. It can feel like that at my shop sometimes too, especially since I do a lot of the same jobs over and over again (timing chain replacement, head gaskets, suspension, etc). Yes, there's a bit more motivation since I get paid for each job, but that doesn't stop it from feeling like a grind. I just have to remind myself that I'm getting to do what I want for a living, and that some monotony/slogging is just a necessary byproduct of "living the dream."

Take it back apart and try to find a shorter piston for the release bearing you will absolutely have an issue. Keep in mind that once the new disc break in that air gap will close up. I have a sequential and a 7.25” Tilton setup. I spent a year battling this and it was terrible. When we install a new clutch now we shoot for .170 to .180 and mid season we pull it apart to clean, check, and reset the gap.

So in my Lotus Elise the radiator hoses go in the top of the radiator. The passenger side radiator hose has a bleed port. This makes it fairly simple to get the air out I will jack the passenger side up and fill the system from the engine and bleed the air out. Takes only a few times of this after its warm to get all the air out.

I really needed to hear that at the end. Thanks!
Personally my car is mostly done, but the turbo is at the back against the firewall and the nuts keep shaking loose no matter what I do, so I need to remove everything and have it changed for v-bands which will prevent that from ever happening again. I'm not too stoked about doing it just like you weren't about doing all that work. It's uncomfortable, it's a hassle and it's something I've done many times before trying different solutions to end up in the same problem. But it's as you say, if I don't do it, nobody will for me and when the car is working, it's a joy to drive and that's the best part 🙏🏽

For the air gap on your clutch, you are missing the mid/backing plate between your block and transmission case. It goes behind the flywheel covering the "inspection hole" @ the lower part of your bell housing. The plate gets sandwitched between the mating surfaces of the block and bell housing, allowing you to tune your thrust bearing gap.
For the coolant expansion tank, it bleeds the air out, but doesn't feed fluid back in due to the tank fittings being too high up on the tank. Expansion tank works pressing the expanding fluid against an air cushion. When the fluid cools down and contracts expansion tank feeds the system with fluid to keep cavitation bubbles away. So, the feed line into the tank needs to be @ the bottom of the tank. Your system works as a puke tank, bleeding the air out, but not feeding fluid back in. Constant bubbles in the system, not enough pressure, overheating, burnt headgaskets etc.

You have gone the best route installing the air / steam vents on your system.
There will always be entrained air in the coolant that would inevitably come out of solution and cause problems in the high points. With the vents the system will self bleed all the time.

Bro…..I love your car and your channel. Your content, film work, and delivery is top notch! The car doesn’t sound like your viewers expected because it’s not a Ferrari engine. I’m sure that it is gonna scream under load and I can’t wait to see that. I love the car in white and I hope you decide to stick with it. I have one opinion otherwise and that is the wheels. I absolutely love the Rotiforms and really don’t like the 3 spokes at all but hey…..it is your car 😂. Keep up the good work!!!

Use UHU stick to mount template to sheet metal, saves even more time during fab.

A hole saw trick for clean edges - clamp some sheet wood either side of your metal part and bore through the lot

I don't think it's selfish to ask for a like and sub considering you're the one doing all the hard work and making the videos! It's the least people can do if they're enjoying the content, which I'm sure they are!
