I walked the 10 miles, the extra 5 miles after I found out the buses dont return you to the other side until 12.00 noon. I must have looked like a zoombie going back to my car but at 62 Im happy to look like anything live or dead walking ! See you all next year !
I’ve set some goals for 2022 and the Mackinac bridge walk is one of them! This would be so fun to take some of my pups to do!! Thanks for another great video PJ.
Sounds like a plan! I’m not sure if they allow dogs on the bridge walk. They might. I’d call the bridge authority and ask 1 (906) 643-7600. They would be in the best position to answer that question.
@@NomadDogAdventures If your pups are service dogs(paperwork maybe requested by the state patrol), then they are welcome to walk the bridge. That being said, if your pups will ride in a dog stroller they are welcome as well. I know cuz I used to take my pup with me in a stroller.
I do not like long bridges over water, I close my eyes whenever we drive over the Big Mac or the Ambassador bridge so I don't think I would ever walk across the Big Mac. I have, however, walked underneath it when I was a kid. You used to be able to walk from one lake to the other under the bridge. It's been a long time since I was up there so I don't know if you can still do that. Looks like you had a fun day thanks for sharing!
Great video as always! I didn't know that about the reason the grates are there, so thanks for the info! Don used to work at the log-looking hotel you were standing in front of and he got pretty excited when he saw it in your video, lol! Merry Christmas!
Thank you so much and that is cool. I’ve always loved the exterior of that hotel. I’ve never stayed there but it’s so cool looking especially from the highway!
And here I am two years later as a 4 time Mackinac Bridge Walker. First year aka the year this video was on I walked it for the first time, then last year I did the double cross which is 2 total, and now this year I did another 5. Adding up, I have walked 20 miles across it 😅
Hello! I apologize for the late reply. The grated portions of the bridge are at the center span of the bridge between the anchor blocks, and only the center two out of four lanes are grated. You don’t have to walk on the center grating, you can walk on the paved portion of roadway if you wish.
Good video. I love the Mackinaw Bridge
Me too! Have you ever walked the bridge?
Sorry I missed the premier. Family Christmas call!
Understood! I was cooking meatloaf the whole time 😂 had to wash my hands just to respond in the chat.
Another great Michigan story, PJ !!! Didn't know you could walk both ways now !!! Lots of interesting info on the bridge!!! ✋ 🌞
Oh yes! All of the footage of me talking to the camera is too windy to even hear. The voiceovers worked perfectly. Thank you so much!
Can’t wait !!
Thanks :) this was such a fun video to make.
Thank you .I was also doing that same walk.
Thanks for sharing this
Amazing
Thank you friend :)

Hey good job! I was so tired after this bridge walk but it was so worth it!

I have this as a 2023 goal.

It depends on the water level. Sometimes you can, sometimes you can’t. Yah my mom never walks it with me she hates it too!

@@ignition1991 It is! It used to be a Days Inn, and when it was, Don worked in laundry and his sister was the manager.

Where are the grated parts and do you have to walk on that part?
