    Dropping sun, melting rays, river flashing colours, darkness enveloping grassy bushes. Perfect evening.

    I live surrounded by waterways: rivers, creeks, lakes, marshes, and that's exactly how certain dusks look ("red sky at night, sailor's delight"), perfect colors SirMikey and the reeds do stand tall and proud. Lovely piece, just lovely. An added mallard in landing position barely scraping surface would be the honk and quack. The music ambience is a spot on match for that's how one feels standing on a fishing wharf as the sun waves sleep tight. You must stick your head in a pencil sharpener regularly as you stay sharp as a tack! Ouch you're bonzer. 🤠

    When perfection becomes ordinary, but it is never 'ordinary' it is always stunningly beautiful.

    One thing I'm guilty of when painting grass: I have to bounce around otherwise all my grass blades line up like a group of chicom soldiers ready for inspection hahah.

    I have a question: when you are painting some of the ripples on the water and you are using a straight edge is that so you can match up with the other ripples that you have already painted in? This paint is absolutely breath taking!

    Fantastic. I would like to ask you: how do you make the board you paint on so smooth? Also, when you layer shades (e.g. light green on dark green) how long do you wait before painting over it? Thanks and congratulations again.

    • @MichaelJamesSmith
      @MichaelJamesSmith  2 месяца назад +2

      I use exhibition panels, (available from my website) link in description. Don’t need to wait at all to paint lighter shades over dark

    • @marksimonian210
      @marksimonian210 2 месяца назад

      Unlikely that the final detail is acrylic. I have never seen him use acrylic start to finish. Maybe he started with acrylic, but he definitely finished with oil.

      Acrylic under painting. Oil for the rest
