    Hi Mike. Just re-watched this having hit my F9 irons for a year. Still love em and they really perform. With my F9 irons and Cobra Connect I am now regularly going round for 5 over rather than the 14 over I started on. They are long easy to hit, forgiving and (I think!) look shiny and lovely too. So pleased I got them and no reason to change up. Even now I am now on 5 hcp they still stopped on the greens when I was off 14.... Great review thanks again

    The F9's perform very well for me. I bought the one length version and am very pleased with the sound, feel, and performance. I'm a 5 handicap, these irons are definitely thicker than what I normally play, but the shaping of the heads seem to minimize that bulkiness. Distances on each iron are very consistent, just like your review. Very impressed with the F9 irons.

      8 hcp here, using the F9 One Lengths, absolutely love them :). Yea, I'm late but figured i should comment anyway.

    Just bought a set yesterday. Bought entire f9 set from driver 3 wood 4 hybrid and 5-pw. Then picked up two new cobra wedges a 50 and 56! Spent the entire day at my clubs range yesterday lol! Hit every club like butter but was struggling with the 5 iron. Typically I hit my old mizuno 5 iron fairly consistently so definitely will be spending some time working with the 5 iron and 4 hybrid as I've never had a hybrid in the bag! Seemed to be getting a consistent 220 out of the 4 hybrid! Very excited

  • @currbag
    @currbag 4 года назад +1

    I am a 8 handicap and just purchased these 4 hybrid 5-pw. Definitely can still get into the low to mid 70s on the course with these clubs. Too many guys think they need a less GI type of iron or even blades when in actuality they would be lowering their scores with this type of consistency and distance in their bags

  • @bdeheton6445
    @bdeheton6445 5 лет назад +3

    Those spin numbers and consistency of carry distance are very, very good for a GI iron. Cobra seems to be onto something with their recent releases.Thanks for the review.

    Any chance you could hit the one-length 5i and, say PW in the F9 and compare the results? Really interested to see how the one-length tech has progressed. Great video.

    I didn't care for the appearance of this club when I first saw it, but it's starting to grow on me, I think it looks better than the m5 or M6 and seems to perform very well.

    Picked up a set this week and played first round yesterday. Don't see any problem with how they look at all. Has weight to it, gets ball up in the air, and adds distance. I'm using the GW instead of my 9i, the 8i instead of my 6. Can't go wrong if you're old set is really old, like mine was.

    Just tested F9 v my own F7. Very impressive results, length and forgiveness much better on F9. If you can get over looks, well worth considering.

      Sue, I also play the F7's. I am interested in the F9's, can you tell me what is the biggest difference between the 2? Size? Is it too chunky or does the size compare to the F7? Thanks in advance you would be a great help?

    • @sue3513
      @sue3513 5 лет назад +1

      Hi Eugene, I would say that the F9 is more forgiving and at least 1/2 a club longer. I have now purchased the F9 irons.You soon get used to the chunkier head and don't really notice it at address.

    3:56 loft on the 7-iron is 29.5 not 29 (to be exact). I have the variable length F8 model 5 through Gap Wedge and F9 in the 4-iron. I really like these irons. I hit the 4-iron better than my 19 degree hybrid (with just as much height), so my hybrid is now retired. The 4-iron is really more like a high flying driving iron.

    I have a f9 5 hybrid...its perfect for second shots on par 5 and long par 4's...easy to hit, great looking club and def dropped my score. Cobra has amazing products. I wouldn't hit anything else. .

    If this is a stronger club, for higher handicapper, what do you roughly lose in carry and spin? Guessing 10-20yds but the spin seems similar?

    It would be nice if you could compare the numbers you get from the Cobra Connect with the numbers you get with your launch monitor.

    • @KNYD650
      @KNYD650 5 лет назад

      I've been using cobra connect on my F8's. Distance is determined from phones GPS and gets registered when you make your next shot. The app uses the mic on your phone to detect each shot and as such doesnt always track fat shots if the crack of the ball off the club face is not loud enough. My showed a 430 yard drive to the green once because of that,LOL, so had to go in after the round and edit in the approach shot. All in all it is fairly accurate when verifying yardage with a range finder. Plus it is real world yardage of what you actually shoot during a round and not what what you do in practice. Which I find is more valuable, especially since my practice is usually on mats. Hindsight though I would probably have gone with the regular grips and arccos sensor set and not the cobra connect because now I'm limited to the grip selection from cobra. That and your stats would stay with you even if you change your clubs cause you could just swap the sensors over.

    I just bought the set Cobra F9's and to my surprise I tested much better than other brand clubs, my handicap is a 16 and hoping to improve this year, I did download the Cobra Connect AP and I was shock to see a 90 days free trial follow by a $100.00 yearly fee. :-(

    I just don't like the look of it, top line a bit too thick (in fairness I hated the Rogue for the same reason), the back is too fussy, and the iron as a whole is a little bigger than I like.
    And the loft is just too strong for me, 30-31 degrees is as low as I like to go with a 7i but the spin rates are actually pretty good for an iron of this type. So definitely playable although not for most single figure HC golfers. I would say 12-25HCPs depending on consistency of strike
    I am not anti Cobra - I play the F8 hybrid - but Cobra really need to re-think the appearance of their irons. The F9 driver is a nice looking, distinctive club...the irons are just ugly

    Thanks Mike for this review....I use to play the Cobra AMP irons and like them before they took them off the market, even the forged...But I can't see how Cobra can put these irons our and hope to compete with the Wilson Staff FG V6 irons in the 5 to 20 handicap range....With Cobra lofts being two club stronger is the only way I can see this....But then again it is a big market....I love my Wilson Staffs FG V6 Forged irons just have to get adjusted to the weaker lofts in the irons....Thanks Again....

    how does it feel in terms of softness compare to forging irons?

    • @SodapopBandit

      A forged club will always feel better. But it will typically be harder to hit. Even offerings such as the P790 aren't full forged.
