I love your sister, Christine! She and her family are blessed to have a sister and family that is so generous and talented to be able to fix up the house that she will call a home. 🥰
Thanks so much for giving your sister such a wonderful hand up. 💕 Thanks for taking her out of the crazy rental market. As a single mum, I know how much this means to her. 🥰
I’ve been a long-time subscriber & I love when your sister is in your videos! So exciting for her & her kids to move into such a big beautiful house!! Love these types of videos from you.
I know I am such a weirdo but I love '80s & '90s home vibes. If I found a 1992 time capsule house, I wouldn't change a thing 😂. They just feel so homey and nice 🥰lol
I'm so happy for her. You Christine are such a blessing to your sister and for sharing your life with us. You truly show a wonderful kindness and beautiful heart to all of us! May God immensely bless you!!! Enjoy! The home is so beautiful too!
I wish I had a crew like yours working on my house. Things would actually get done! Her kitchen reminds me of yours, the way the appliances are laid out. I love your color choices.
The house looks AMAZING--and I love it's a whole family project. And Lauren, can I just say your arms are phenomenal! I feel like you put the rest of the internet to shame. :) I hope you and your kiddos find years of joy together in your new home.
We just bought another home (planning on selling our current one) and it was built in the 80's. This home has the EXACT same hardware on the cabinets... ugh. However, with over 50 pieces the cost to replace seemed outrageous. I taped off the white porcelain section of all the hardware, painted the brass part with black chalk spray paint, and they turned out beautiful! Just a thought to save some money and get a more updated look. Nice home and congrats.
A cedar lined closet is wonderful for winter clothes storage, especially wool!! Take some fine grit sandpaper and rough the cedar up and the smell will be fantastic!!
Oh to have your own bathroom!! Congrats! We are a family of 9 sharing one bathroom. Well to be honest there's only 6 of us at home now. Still 1 bathroom though.
How cool! Is this the house where you and your sister Lauren reorganized the pantry? I see that this remodel took a long time therefore I was curious about the timeline of doing the pantry and Lauren moving to the remodeled house in this video. Everything looks great in the after scenes (that kitchen is laid out kind of like your kitchen). I’m sure your sister and family will be happy there. Thanks for sharing.
i moved into a new flat last summer and although it was "completely renovated" according to the contract we had to do a lot of stuff before i was able to move in. we did it all ourselves (we didn´t have to move walls, close doors and put new doors in walls). we did have to build in a complete kitchen though which we did for the first time ourselves. i did it with my sisters and it was such an awesome time. we worked like horses, but it was so much fun. no matter how much hard work it was, the time is SO well spent in my opinion. i almost envy you a bit for all of that ;)
What an inspiring video. Great job family! I love the design choices too. Very serene and functional. Lauren - nice to meet you! Love the guns. An additional inspiration.
You had to go into the master bedroom to access the only working bathroom in the house we lived in when DD2 was an infant. When we viewed the home during DH’s job interview (the house was part of the perks of the job so we couldn’t make any changes) there was another bath upstairs between the other two bedrooms, but since there were drainage issues in the shower, they totally disconnected the sink and shower drains. Totally awkward. The kitchen layout looks a lot like yours.
Christine, I love the new house and all the upgrades that you guys have done. I noticed in the after tour of the kitchen that you missed a set of gold hinges under the sink for the flip out doors. Great to see all your kids helping and learning all the skills that most kids now a days don't know.
Congrats on the new investment venture! Really nice that you can get the work done and painting pryor to moving in. If it were my kitchen; I'd remove the curved upper cabinets at the end of the island and put up open shelves. It would open it up more and make a nice focal point. Congrats again!
Congratulations to your sister! I'm so happy for her and her family. Now she can be comfortable in her home. The changes are amazing. The place looks so good. You all did a fantastic job.
Congratulations on your joint venture! Basement looks and functions so much better, awesome you were able to get those changes done before the actual move. Congrats Lauren on completing your body building show hope you enjoyed your event! Nice job and amazing what you can get done with extra hands.
Such a great video. And so timely for me to find. My husband and I bought our first rental house to redo back in January and we are still finishing up. However, it's just the two of us working on it so I think we are doing well. We've also had to take out the floors in 2 of the rooms all the way down to the dirt, literally. So its been a chore but very rewarding to see the progress made too. Loved this video. Gives me hope of what's to come. Your house is beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
The reason the basement closet is like that for access to get in where they can't get around all of the furnace to do any repairs. The closet is best left as an open source for all repairs in the future. Most furnaces now are only made to last 6 years. That's not a long time before you're going to need to get full access into that space.
I get what I want and he's ok with it ....YUPPPPPP married 45 years in June and its worked for us :) glenda ALSO so happy you are helping family - family first then on to helping others :)
That is really awesome I wish my brothers would help me like this me and my husband are renting when the housing market crash of 2007 we lost everything we are disabled and in our late 60s my sister in law is a realtor they can afford it they have no mercy it really sad I'm happy that you are helping your sister God bless you and your family
Those cabinet pulls are the standard package for new builds even now, lol. If you want anything different, you're looking at paying around $5 -20 per pull plus labor cost (think $40 an hour for someone to use a screw driver). Most people just live with it, because they're functional, and aren't going to add several thousand to your final mortgage price.
We are on week 9 of a full bathroom redo that the contractor said would take 2 to 3 weeks. We are continually told that the crew will be back in the morning to have them never show up. I added up all of the days that they’ve worked and it figures out to about one day per week! They keep saying it’s because they can’t find workers to do the jobs that they have scheduled. Perhaps they should stop scheduling jobs that they don’t have enough staff for. Profoundly frustrating!
Those handles are circa 1994! I had identical ones in my house when we built it🤦🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️ changed them out to black ! Changed door knobs to glass with black hardware! Oh no! Don’t paint those beautiful wood cabinets!😕 love the black handles😉 Thanks for Sharing!
Love that the kids are learning all these skills. The more you know how to do yourself the more you save in the long run. Great way to prepare them for life!
Becky from acre homestead also, painted her new house in agreeable grey 😮, must be a popular colour, at least I think it was that colour she used, I know it was one she did test on her walls, I’m sure it was that one.
How great that your sister will be able to live close to you and your mom! The new home is beautiful and it’s so wonderful to see you all working together on it to make it come together!! I really loved the new floor you put down in the basement!! I hope you’ll be able to carry it out throughout the house someday! It’s so pretty!! Great job!!
We took all of the fixtures the cabinet handles , the door handles the door hinges we painted all of them black. Sooo much cheaper then buying new same with light fixtures that we we kept Along with fans
My parents still have handles like that in their kitchen 😅 They built their house in the 80s. And in the middle of the handle on the white part has flowers lol
My dad had alot of rental property. Just a word if advice, if u r using a neutral for paint. Use the same color throughout so u can easily repaint. My dad used the same color for all walls, a certain color for cabinets, and for porches. That way he always knows which paint to use according if something needs repainting. Just a suggestion.
You're right but since this rental is for her sister being flexible with paint colors is good. I'm sure her next properties will be more conservative. Good advice.

I love your sister, Christine! She and her family are blessed to have a sister and family that is so generous and talented to be able to fix up the house that she will call a home. 🥰
I love that these projects are done for the purpose of function and practicality, not just to keep up with design trends!
Love that it’s a family affair, and the kids are learning theses trades will come in handy later in life . 💗💗
Christine, while you were in the kitchen, I thought you were at home! The kitchen setup is just like yours! Nice house.
I thought the same, it looks like her house! Lol
Love that she's getting her house , plus both your families get to have the memories of working together
Thanks so much for giving your sister such a wonderful hand up. 💕 Thanks for taking her out of the crazy rental market. As a single mum, I know how much this means to her. 🥰

I think that the dark marble will match the handles on the cabinets, for the worktop something like the design in the grey/ darker grey marbled tile.
❤️❤️❤️ Christine - you are such a blessing for your sister and her family. Teary eyed seeing the love in your family.
I'm so happy for her. You Christine are such a blessing to your sister and for sharing your life with us. You truly show a wonderful kindness and beautiful heart to all of us! May God immensely bless you!!! Enjoy! The home is so beautiful too!
I have always admired Christine's fitness...then there is your sister! Bang Bang Gun show! Lol I like the family chipping in. Great job guys!
Just loved all the projects for this house. Your sister Lauren is so sweet! Such a wonderful and loving family you all are.
Love this!!! You guys working together!!
PS your sister’s arms!!!!! GOALS!! Share the goods! Workout routine!
I wish I had a crew like yours working on my house. Things would actually get done! Her kitchen reminds me of yours, the way the appliances are laid out. I love your color choices.

Congrats on the new house! It's great that your sister will have more space. You are so kind and generous to help her.
Congratulations to both of you. Such a blessing to have your family so close to you now.
Congratulations on the new house I hope you sister and her family have many years of happiness there.
That kitchen looks like yours, pre-new counter top. The basement looks great!
The house looks AMAZING--and I love it's a whole family project. And Lauren, can I just say your arms are phenomenal! I feel like you put the rest of the internet to shame. :) I hope you and your kiddos find years of joy together in your new home.

I’d love to see pics of you and your siblings as well as Dave, as kids!
I’m so happy for your sister!!! What a beautiful blessing. If you know - you know
I love that you guys are so close! Great job on the house!!
Lol when you're in the kitchen with the camera pointed at you (9:55 ish?) the layout looks a LOT like your kitchen!
Awesome renovation! I enjoyed having it all in one video instead of broken up into multiple episodes.
Oh to have your own bathroom!! Congrats! We are a family of 9 sharing one bathroom. Well to be honest there's only 6 of us at home now. Still 1 bathroom though.
How wonderful you were able to help your sister and her kids! What a gift for your whole family!♥️🙏🏻

Terrific video and congratulations on your new investment! BTW: the cedar in that closet is intended to keep clothes moths at bay.
Congratulations to everyone !!!!!
The first new house we built, we were told 3 to 4 months build. Twelve months later we moved in and still had stuff done incorrectly.
The closet within a closet is so awesome. I want that for my future house.
Congrats on the new place ladies, and I adore the color in the daughter's room!
Wishing your sis and her babies all the joy and happiness in this new home.
What a great house! So excited for Lauren and her family. Think what you did downstairs was right on point. Thanks for sharing
Your own bathroom AND a walk-in closet! Sis, thank God and enjoy it. Congratulations!
Fun to see your project. Thanks for taking us along!
You all done good, girl. I personally would NEVER attempt something like that. I’m not creative enough, nor am I experienced enough. It looks great!

Yes! I noticed that too 👍
Thank you to all sponsors. Very interesting.
Congrats on the new investment venture!

If it were my kitchen; I'd remove the curved upper cabinets at the end of the island and put up open shelves. It would open it up more and make a nice focal point. Congrats again!
I have considered that! It would make it feel more open for sure.
Congrats!! 🎉 I love you and your sister! great content!

I grew up in a family of five with one full bathroom and I will NEVER go back to sharing 😂 I totally understand that!

God bless your family. I hope all goes wonderfully with the new home.
Passive is a great color (in the right light). We did all the main areas of our last house Passive
If the dishwasher still works you could cover the door with a sticky cover. Did that to my fridge and freezer doors.
Best of Luck in the new endeavor! That house looks like a similar layout to you home!

It would looks nice to change all of the doorknobs to black. We did that at our house and love the look. Amazon!
Agreeable Gray is the bomb
Will you be changing out the bedroom floors in the basement to match the new floors? The new ones are beautiful!
Absolutely beautiful!!
Luv the creamy color specially with the teal/slate color accent wall
The kitchen layout reminds me of your house!
