Im trying to swap the grey for black so I don't have to do a complete rebuild and the instructions I found online make it look like it should just slide right off after removing the 3 inside screws but the dang thing is acting like it's stuck and I can't seem to find any obvious push tabs. • @BuildsWithV
      @BuildsWithV  2 года назад +3

      Thank you 🙏 There’s a tiny gap but it never caused any issues with my old case and this case has an even smaller gap so I don’t expect it to have any issue with this case. Since my case will have positive air pressure with my fan configuration the only thing that’ll happen is air will leave through that corner as well as other open spots. I think I will be doing a video once everything had time to work and show how the temps are and how everything is going. Might be in a month or two, we’ll see tho.

    • @BuildsWithV
      @BuildsWithV  Год назад +3

      I haven’t done anything with this case since this video. I did do a couple more mods like this on and the workaround is to just scrape the bezel on the front corner and leave the rest alone. It’s less work because the brackets can stay on besides the corner and I just cut the parts off while it’s still on the glass. A bit more dangerous since you can cut the glass by accident but I just go half way deep and then break it off with heat and prying. Also the new method allows you to keep all the stock brackets which means the glass is more secure. I’m working on another mod like this as we speak and the video will be out soon. This case is getting a full color swap but I talk about the new methods a bit more in this new video. Thanks 🙏

    The only problem with using a razor blade is that it can leave micro scratches in the glass. They aren't always visible but are often there. I use aircraft remover and 0000 steel wool to remove the silk screen on tempered glass for my mods. The razor blade is definitely easier, but again, I prefer to maintain the glass in the best condition possible.

    • @BuildsWithV
      @BuildsWithV  2 года назад

      @@BuildsWithV No video that I know of. Just go to autozone or whatever and grab the kleanstrip or rustoleum aircraft remover. Spray it or spread it onto the silk screen in small areas. Wait about 10-15 minutes, then start scrubbing with the 0000 steel wool. It takes a good amount of work and a good hour to remove it all but doesn't damage the glass. It's my least favorite mod while doing it but is super satisfying once finished.

    Question: Ive seen some people remove all the rivets vs using a Dremel. Any reason NOT to drill out all the rivets? Seems a lot easier to do and can put it back if you ever need to.

    • @VideoMania89
      @VideoMania89 8 месяцев назад

      You can use a dremal and remove the rivets on 'O11 Dynamic' but this method doesn't work with the newer 'O11 Dynamic Evo'. With the newer model, you need to get a tiny saw to remove the support bar . I also imagine you can use a drill and keep puncturing holes into the support bar until it can be easily snapped off by hand.

      @@BuildsWithV, another case I'm really anticipating is the Phanteks NV7. Obviously, I want something with the seamless glass look. I was even thinking about modding the Thermaltake Tower 500, but the side panels slot into the side rails, so they are essential to the panels staying on. I'm not going to go as far as making slots, coming up with a mounting solution, and aligning everything so it looks right so the panels will attach at the top and bottom. The standard 011D you can’t unfortunately, I’m not sure about the black version of the evo either. If lian li used the same method on the black evo as the original 011 then it can’t be scratched off so custom glass would be the only option. I was surprised by this white one that it was so easily scraped off.

    I didn't understand one thing about the 6:00 minute passage, but why do you remove the original glue from all sides of the glass? Wouldn't it be better for you to just remove the glue from the side where it will fit with the small front glass so as to have an angular effect on just the glass without the white band? I don't understand why you remove all 4 corners of the glass and then repaint those 3 sides and put the glues back on the 3 sides, isn't that a waste of time? all you had to do was remove the glue from the right side of the glass which will match the small glass and you would have saved a lot of time and fewer errors.

    In Russia, the paint is scraped off the glass without problems, using toilet cleaner, a bottle with a curved spout. And use a scraper for kitchen cooktops. And of course, before this action, you need to drink vodka and play the balalaika to mentally prepare for such a difficult and responsible job. Work, brothers!!!

      @@BuildsWithVWhich dremel tool did you use in this video? Looks like you got the black and decker heat gun I was thinking about getting the same one. Maybe this is a dumb question but does the white spray paint you buy really matter? I'm just a bit worried about different shades and it comes out looking weird, would prefer it as close as possible to the case's paint. Dod you notice a difference in the paint color? And if not can you include the paint/primer you used.
