From my opinion, the most challenging thing in a group presentation is how to get your group members to actually work . In most of the group presentations I had before, I suffered to get my team to do at least something.
Yes, that's the most challenging for many people. Not everyone is motivated the same way. It's good practise for leading a team, so it's also a good challenge for you.
Yes, it can be hard when everyone is watching you. Just remember that it's also a great opportunity to show what you can do and who you can be. How often do we get that kind of chance? Run with the opportunity! Good luck and thanks for commenting.
Thanks for the comment. Yes, it's about the same as a stage actor in a play. Lots of rehearsals, dress rehearsals, and experience will help. Another thing is to prepare your content in a structured way to help you remember it better. The confidence of knowing your material will help reduce your nervousness. Good luck!
Thanks for watching and for your answer. Yep, I'd agree with what you said, especially the part about agreeing on who will present what. I think staying on topic is sometimes a matter of trust, as much as it is communication.

i have a group presentation coming up this week and there are about 7 of us in a group(i know that's a lot). what's hard is getting them to do at least sth that can be of help. doing everything that needs to be done by a team of 7 is actually hard and what's worse is that they don't even understand. i just hope everything goes well. thank you for this video. it'll help me cause i am the presenter....

The beginning is the hardest part when it comes to giving presentation. Having a full first minute of your presentation committed to memory will help you at the most critical moment.

Most people tend to speak too much. A good rule of thumb is that 60 seconds of speaking (in English) is about 175 words. I usually use this guide: 60 seconds: 130-150 words 30 seconds: 65-75 words 15 seconds: 20-36 words So please have your team practice and try to manage their speaking time. The most annoying thing is for a presentation to go too long or over time. Good luck.
the hardest thing is 1- relying on a partner to understand you, cause sometimes you need to work with someone who doesn't quite share your thoughts and values... 2- you get stuck with someone who does not work as hard as you or doesn't take things seriously... 3- last, trying to figure out who speaks first or who takes charge of the presentation. these are my problems... It's hard communicating with people... oh well...
Yes, that's true. So you need more time to prepare and to communicate ideas so you're both on the same page. Also, you're both working towards the same goal. But yes, it's challenging. Good luck.
Thanks for sharing. Yes, I know the feeling. Did you choose a team leader? Are you being graded as a group or individually? You could keep a log of your meetings and what's done or not done and by whom. If you all have to speak, then I suggest you make your part awesome and get the best grade. Good luck :)
Watching this video the day we're supposed to give a group presentation about group presentations and realizing everything we're presenting has barely anything to do with group presentations that's the hardest part lol
What's the hardest part about giving a group presentation? I think it would be "groupthink.'" Not wanting to downplay another's idea that may not be the best thing for the presentation, but also not wanting them to stop contributing. Thoughts?
Yep, that's a tough one, for sure. I would suggest "keeping your eyes on the prize"... Make sure you know what the goal of the presentation is, what the main message is that you want to convey and evaluate ideas based on whether they help you reach that goal or deliver that message. You could set out some criteria for what the ideas should help accomplish and use those as a measure. Also consider the time that you have. You won't be able to fit in everything. But the BIGGEST measuring stick is would the audience care about it. You have to be clear about what's in it for the audience and what they care about. If an idea does little to nothing for the audience, then it should not go in the presentation. Hope that helps. Good luck!
Ok but im the next speaker.. how do i start the continuation of the presentation? Is starting the very first topic of a presentation the same with starting another topic as a next speaker?
The most hardest part of group presentation is when you stammer while looking at people! I'm sure most of the people will watch this video at night before the presentation day
Haha yes, most people will watch it last minute :) Stammering while looking at people is very normal. Being prepared will help reduce that, as well as experience and conscience effort to speak clearly. Thanks and good luck!
Hi Carl! I like your video! Do you have video about Seminar and talking about Education or Curriculum! And how i open the Seminar, introduction the guest speaker and ending the Seminar.. Please send me the link Carl! Thank in advance.
Hello, excellent idea how you suggested the introduction. My group presentation is on globalization, from social to political. Six people in my group, i would like to know what is considered equally fair, when you suggest how many slides should cover your part.
Thanks for the question. What I always say is: As many slides as it takes. I wouldn't worry about fair. I would worry about being a good team and giving a good team presentation. Thinking about what's fair shouldn't be the focus. Good luck.
We are a group of 6, the class is 1 1/2 hours long, this is why i thought it was necessary, but on tuesday, on our 1st meeting, i will include your suggestion.

Sir pls would you give me any suggestion about group discussion
Dividing tasks and time between the members of the group is the hardest part in my opinion
Takes some trial and error to find what each person's good at. And you need someone to lead. Works best that way, IMO
