The cashier snaps the soup of George's hand is genius!
I love this episode and the guy who was the Soup Nazi was fantastic. But nothing beats the cashier girl who takes George's soup back and gives him his money, all in less than 1 second. The precision of her movements, her inexpressiveness ... the curl. It's perfect.
He was also the BlackJack dealer in Austin Powers lol
I wonder how many takes they did to get that perfect moment. You are soo correct. She abruptly grabs the soup bag and quietly gives him back his bill. The sound of the exchange with the look was genius.
@@alanw2036 Disagree most strenuously. The opening sequence where George is kicked out is the only funny part of this whole episode. The rest of it-Jerry & his "schmoopy" girlfriend, the two gay guys who threaten Kramer and steal the armoire, isn't even a little bit funny.
Yes !
Joe Hansell wow, really? Not even Kramer with the armoire and gay guys? Loved that episode. . .as well as Elaine’s revenge at the end. Remember. . .Seinfeld always has subplots in each episode, some of which tie into the bigger theme.
I don't think any character ever became so famous based on being on TV for just 10 minutes total.
It took Basil Fawlty of Fawlty Towers longer than that :)
T G max scorpio
This and the "no philange plane" guy in friends 😂
No soup for you
Wrong, the no philangy guy was on severely episodes of That 7o's Show.
"No soup for you, come back one year."
rande stuart it's been 1 year. I'm back 😏
You're pushing your luck little man
No bread for you!
I love Spike's impression of Jerry's sarcastic "Iiiii'm sorryyyyy...." First off, he sounds just like him, and second, that's the best response he could've given him. XD
The girl grabbing back the soup from George is so perfect...She did that like she did it a thousand times...:)...Who doesn't LOVE the soup nazi...An Iconic Seinfeld character...
Wow Newman has gotten thin!
LOL indeed! You should see the guy who played George Costanza. Kinda feel bad, but he's gotten fatter it seems
***** Jerry, I'm a little insulted... You're not a little anything Newman lololol
He looks great, plus his real voice isn't so "Newman"-like. Lol.
Jason Alexander is fine. Better with age.
***** HIs laughing at the end sounds a little like Drew Carey.
The cashier woman was like a ninja
Why were tbey putting their cash on the soup counter and how did it get instantly into the cash register?
Like lots of New Yorkers in the 90s,I went to that original soup shop many times and I can tell you this episode is very accurate.
It was not an inside restaurant, just an opening on 55 st that you walked up to after waiting on a very long line.
The soup man himself was often even more crabby than the actor played him but boy that soup he made was just incredible.
Every day the menu was different and yes, sometimes you got bread, fruit and even chocolate with the soup and sometimes you didn’t get anything at all.
But you better not complain -or he would throw you off for making the same silly errors that you saw people make on the show.
Despite all of that,I think if you ever talked to his old customers who stood in those long lines day after day they will tell you without a doubt that it was the best soup they ever had!!
John Rigs -hilarious!
So did the franchise zupas basically rip their strawberry side thing off of the soup Nazi?
@Reginald Dove it has a different owner now I've read. The original owner that influenced this episode has a franchise now called The Original SoupMan.
Thanks for the info
The best, John, the best!

Lol yea it sure was!
I remember one time the turkey chili ran out and I took too long deciding which one I wanted and he kicked me off the line!
On TV it’s funny - but when you are hungry and were waiting 40 minutes - it’s not so funny lol!
But guess what -
Next day I was back on line again!!
"Let's go to the Soup Nazi for lunch."
"I don't think that's a good idea."
"Why not? I made him famous."
"He doesn't see it that way. He says you ruined his life."
Jokes and funnny stories aside. They probably really ruined his life.
Thanks for the subtitles
"Nice... Bread." "You are pushing your luck little man !"
I love how the real soup Nazi said no soup for you to the real Jerry... LMAO that's amazing
this inside look was almost more fun than the original episode. thanks for making it
Newman looks a lot more healthy now. Awesome work!
Hammern28 Now? That interview is about ten years old.
Lynn Turman Now, yes. And it is allowed to look at people other places on the internet as well. Google him, and you'll see.
Healthy? He looks like death. What you don't know about life is a lot.
It’s a shame he was killed by that dinosaur when filming Jurassic Park. Rest In Peace.
it's like you could say... he's a new... man
Jambalayaaaa
This show had dozens of great episodes..legendary show for sure. You have to appreciate sarcasm and the other types of humor expressed in this show to really "get" it.
Perhaps the best episode of Seinfeld. That is saying A LOT.
Maybe...! To me, picking the best episode of Seinfeld is kinda like picking the best Beatles song. THAT is how good this show was/is!
This was not simply an "episode of Seinfeld." This is Legend. This is forever a part of NYC history.
Nah
@Mark Stone
Full marks go to you for knowing the A LOT is 'Two words' and not ALOT as the Uneducated illiterate Sheeple write. ( There is no such word as ALOT in the English Dictionary, and the uneducated masses don't know that)
Good one but the best episode is "The Contest".
I met Larry Thomas yesterday in Portland Oregon. One of the most relaxed and down to earth guys I've ever met. My goal is to meet the entire cast of that show.
Who the hell is Larry Thomas?
I once went into a diner and on the wall was an autographed picture of him as the Soup Nazi!
Wayne Knight looks great
suzycreamcheesez I know, looks younger.
@Michael Scott you just made my day
lol! You sound like a junior high kid!! @Michael Scott
suzycreamcheesez Was. Vv
Don't go to soviet russia with him, because if you go there his ass eats you.
Seinfeld, the greatest show ever. I know some people may say Breaking Bad or Friends or Game of Thrones but I love funny shows and to me Seinfeld is the best.
Yeah meetoooohoohooo!!
i watch it everyday on my phone app
Nope, Seinfeld is the best, along with Miami Vice. Some people can't relate to Breaking Bad or Game of Thrones....but EVERYONE can and has had one or a few Seinfeld moments in real life. lol
I might say M.A.S.H. and Only fools and horses are better.
Mohammad N absolutely......nothing is a close second to Seinfeld
I love Wayne's line at the end. Plus that evil Newman laugh he did! =D
Ah, the 90s. When you could actually get away with saying something like: "only gay guys would steal an armoire."
the problem is one guy tells a joke, the listener finds a way of materializing it into some kind of persecution....some people don't deserve to be told jokes....that my friend is our world in a nutshell.....one guy whistles another thinks he is entitled to grab.
Jolly4jc I was just thinking that.
@@tesoro7788 How about we just have thick skin?
Great episode. GREAT writing !!! Great interview.
There is a blooper in this episode, when Elaine returns from the soup nazi, and her armoire is gone, right as she enters the screen, immediately to your right the Armoire is off to the side and is caught in the frame, they must have just pushed it off to the side to film the next scene, and he cameras caught the edge of it.
This still stands up 20 + years later. - Chip Barkhouse The Drummist
My favorite all time soup nazi moment was when he was on the stand. Prosecuter asks his name:,"Yev Kasem"
And could you spell that please: NO! Next question!
Contempt of court charge aside, that was hillarious.
Esto es oro puro, por dios que genios no podés dejar de escucharlos.
wow how great. Thank you and keep up the good work
Epic. Schmoopy and No Soup for you. Easily the #1 Seinfeld episode.
Eric Stevens I named my rabbit Schmoopy because of this episode
You're schmoopy!!!!
It's been uploaded for over four years, and NOW RUclips decides to recommend this to me!?
Aaron Jake No recommendation for you! Come back four years!
I bet the real soup Nazi's restaurant would've been a total hit after that episode if he simply owned the part. Maybe even set up a stand with a bunch of joke rules for the customers as they order the food. Maybe his little restaurant would've become a big tourist attraction for New York for years to come.
Just goes to show how opportunities can be missed if we take ourselves too seriously.
+Jean-Luc Picard Maybe he thought that dancing for the man just ain't where it's at?
Bleargh Bleorgh better to swing with the times than to eventually go bankrupt, like he did. Life is survival, bro
Jean-Luc Picard That's exactly how Nazi Germany started.
Bleargh Bleorgh
well, he is the Soup Nazi after all
+Jean-Luc Picard sorry, but actually the real guy banned the word Nazi from being said in his shop, and after the episode, he had to close
"You know something? NO SOUP FOR YOU!!"
Who will ever forget the soup nazi, one of his best !
Thank You for sharing the video with us.
I love BOB and Cedric "We're taking the Armoir and that;s it " :LOL
"You want bread? $3!!!"
@Tony Montana
George:*stammers*
Soup Nazi: NOSOUP4U!
Cashier Lady: *takes soup bag away*
I took my ex wife to the soup nazi on 54th near Broadway in 1998, the show was all ready out of him but he hadn't franchised yet so he was still in his raised little shack looking down on you. We ordered with a smirk in our faces and he looked like he wanted to kill us, like just say Soup Nazi once and see what happens. He charged $13 bucks for soup, bread and fruit and it was delicious. He soon sold out, franchised and closed up his little shack but I can always say I went to the original Soup Nazi.
+terrymalloy69 Dear god 13 bucks for a bowl of soup in '98? Or that was 6.50 for each?
13 bucks each...the snarl was free
Oh I went in in 2014, I did not know he had sold it. The guy serving it was not in a good mood, though.
I would do aaaanything to try out a bowl of hot mulligatawny
id take my ex-wife to a real nazi
I met Spike Ferested and helped with a local tv interview of him, cool guy.
The "street toughs" who stole the armoire were a great touch on that episode. Seinfeld is classic TV. I can watch reruns hundreds of times and still laugh.
The fact that they went to the actual soup place is hilarious! 🤣
This exchange would have been great:
Soup Nazi: No soup for you!
Babu Bhatt: No soup!? That is unfair! You bad man! You very very bad man!
Now THERE'S a perfect fanfiction just waiting to be written!
The Dragon Killer.......ruclips.net/video/jocI_R8lMpM/видео.html
LOL! Yeah, you can't have Babu without that finger wag!
I would love to see babu vs soup nazi in a cage match.
This episode puts me on the floor every time
I never would have guessed that was an Omar Sharif impression. BRILLIANT!
One of my favorite episodes
that at the end there is truly one of the coolest stories I've ever heard.
Glad to see Newman looking so fit and healthy!
Newman's laugh at the end - perfect!
They all aged so well
One of the best episodes
one of the best eps of seinfeld other then the contest ep
You know you're successful when you can tell a customer not to come back for a whole year.
This is one of my FAVORITE EPISODE like so funny a freakin CLASSIC! Legendary!!!😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊☺
Half Spanish Customer - "....... Por Favor"
Soup Nazi - "POR FAVOR? ADIOS MUCHACHO"
Aditya Sharma He says, "Gazpacho, por favor."
Other than the Festivus episode The Soup Nazi maybe my favorite Seinfeld episode
The Soup Nazi episode would without doubt be in the Top Ten best and most memorable episodes.
I have the entire series on DVD, when I have an opportunity to view them I will post my Top 10 best episodes,
It's up there... but I don't think anything tops The Opposite.
Wayne Knight lost weight.
Gay Thugs were a great invention.
I also only just got the joke with why the Soup Nazi went to Argentina.
They give credit to Casa Del Mar at the end, but the Julia Louis Dreyfus inteview was done in suite 803 at the Georgian Hotel on Ocean Avenue. Look at the little railing outside the Window, that's on the 8th floor of the Georgian, there are no windows with railings like that at Casa Del Mar.
Ha! Wow, that's some serious messup right there. Thanks for pointing that out!
No credit for you!
I can't believe the Soup Nazi's real name Larry Thomas
Crazy Joe Davola The actor who plays the Soup Nazi is Larry Thomas, not the actual Soup Nazi
Excellent!
Holy shit, Newman really got into shape
Oh, man, that's perfect!
God I miss that show. Brilliant writing and acting.
Larry Thomas 'The Soup Nazi' is an awesome guy
Probably the best ever episode in probably the best ever American sitcom.
One of the funniest episodes of ANY show ever!
Larry Thomas is actually a pretty nice guy, He used the character to promote soup kitchens for the homeless. He drove the "Seinfeld Food Truck" across America and handed out free soup along with other Seinfeld-related food items: Snapple, Twix, Junior Mints, black and white cookies and muffin tops.
Wow really?
My favorite Seinfeld’s episode
oooooohhh haaaa, no soup. One year ! Best ep ever
Probably my favorite episode
This whole thing is just pure gold! Fkn love Seinfeld & the whole crew
I need a good soup, now it's rainy season. It keeps you warm and happy.
Love it Love it Great Show!
this is ART
U guys are great .
Their impersonations of Jerry are spot on XD
What makes it even better is, he really looks like the Soup Nazi.
Jerry and Larry built an amazing team of writers for sure
I'll never forget that episode. It was so funny! Unless I get Alzheimers.
fav episode.
Jerry had to go through a mindset shift to go from broke, struggling comedian to becoming the world's wealthiest actor. He sits atop the list of world's wealthiest actors with his net worth of $860 million
Yeh and he isn't even that funny, but then that is American dollars which theyd throw at anyone, look at what the cast of The Big Bang Theory make and that show is mediocre.
@@optimisticwhovian1726 WELL HE MUST HAVE SOMETHING TO MAKE THAT CASH LOL
True @@DeHirvilammi
@@optimisticwhovian1726 They must be doing something right. If it's so easy, why don't you go get your own mound of cash?
@@publicopinion3596 No kidding. I'd always assumed he was Indonesian.
Funny Stuff!!..it was a great show..and the Soup Nazi..
priceless 😂
genius genius genius ,,, they make many many people laugh , and over and over
Jambalaya !
I remember seeing him at Video Game Live on 10/19/2007.
Newman is one role where the actor has to be fat. A thin Newman does not work..
Newman always goes on a strict sugar-only diet before working. He drops the weight between performances.
I had all these dvds not anymore I used to honeslty like watching the documentaries.
Wayne Knight you look great, good job on the weight loss.
i know the chunky thats been eating all these chunkies - newman!!!!
Favourite Seinfeld episode
This makes me happy!
The Armoire scene!!
Kramer gave me the armoire and it is sooo BEAUTIFUL! I can't tell you how much I appreciate it.... YOU? If I knew it was for you, I wouldn't have given it to him in the first place! I would have taken a hatchet and SMASHED IT TO PIECES! NOW, who wants soup!? Next! Speak up!!! lmao
The look on the poor guy's face who was next in line...
And by the way, where is that armoire now? (I heard it was moved to LA, where two gay drug dealers destroyed it in a bitch gun-fight!).
That was awesome
Probaly the most famous Seinfeld episode of all time!!
Wayne Knight ( Newman ) looks fantastic , healthy and full of life...and clearly was good with his money. Well deserved sir.
"Bob" is unbelievable. Such a great character.
Spike sounds a lot like Jerry, those couple impressions he did were just about perfect
We had a middle-eastern convenience store owner/clerk who always had a short fuse when it came to transactions being more complicated than they couldve been. I began referring to *him* as the soup nazi.
2:23... the cashier lady looked like a *Vulcan.*
Newman, Kramer, George and maybe Elaine are the best characters
If you watch closely at 2:20 the soup nazi can't stop himself from laughing while he's arguing with george about the bread.
Brilliant actor. No soup for you!!!
