V69 multitasking is fantastic, its such a great feature. I use it inside Contractors Showdown whilst i am waiting in the lobbies. I watch Netflix or RUclips and my team members cannot hear it which is great.

Definitely makes a huge difference, and be able to use Spotify and Discord is great too

If you're on the PTC you can get access to it now, but there are trade-offs with that. If you ever leave the public test channel, then your headset gets factory reset before going back to the standard updates.
For me it makes sense because I do content on the headset, so I always try to be on the latest update.
As for if the public test channel is too risky for you, usually the updates hit the headset official Channel within 2 to 4 weeks. But v69 has been getting reported on for about a week or so before I made this video so I'm going to guess at the latest 2 weeks out. Meta has been doing a great job of getting updates out monthly and that would pretty much make sense timeline wise.

Nothing about the Contrast Adaptive Brightness?.....

I saw mentions of it when researching, but it seemed to be developer specific for certain games for my understanding.

@@bc_labs No. It works for the entire operating system. It is best to check in very dark scenes. I definitely have the effect in Doom 3 VR, which runs natively, through the Quest 3 hardware. It is best to go to a very dark section of the level, where there is no lighting at all. In this case, the dark areas become almost truly black. But as soon as you turn your gaze to the light source, the dark areas turn gray. The game definitely did not have any updates (for the adaptive contrast feature). So it definitely works for the entire system.
But for some reason, Content Adaptive Brightness does not work through Airlink, at least I did not see the effect in Phasmofobia. Dark areas are usually gray, as they should be in normal LCD screen.
On Reddit, people say that on the contrary, it works for them in Airlink and does not work in native games. Perhaps it is not configured quite correctly yet. For example, for the color 0:0:0 the feature is enabled, but not for 30:30:30.

@@real_ddmxm that's good to know. I'll have to dig into that a little bit deeper. Maybe I can get some gameplay footage to show it off because it's a game changer I'd say, too bad the display doesn't have tons of backlighting zones to give some of the improvements did an OLED would give without spending the money on an OLED

@@bc_labs I noticed that this feature changes brightness and gamma at the same time, this combo looks pretty good. Definitely not OLED, but better than typical IPS contrast.

It's important to remember that a lot of the features unfortunately roll out over the span of time. I'm guessing meta either throws some switches on accounts in batches or to headset serials in batches, that way smaller groups of people test each feature before they roll out.
Over the next few days they should start rolling out to other headsets

You can get big curved windows or at least a singular big curve window if you switch into theater mode.

I believe quest one no longer gets any updates to this scale, as it's out of support
