My guess is that there is more pressure to up the scale, but at the end of the day constant escalation is super difficult to sustain. Unless you have good writers and self control to stick the landing. We see that problem with modern marvel movies. The fight scenes need to be bigger and better than the last. The heroes, stronger than ever before. CGI needs to be more grand. The stakes? Gotta save the city, no, the earth, no, the infinite earths in the multi-verse now! Also see the Fast and Furious movies. Not really a trilogy, but it's a prime example of unchecked escalation.

But the thing is, unless it’s like LoTR where the three books are already written and the screenplay knew all along it’s been a trilogy, that third movie’s narrative can be pretty cobbled together.

They left out so many good parts of the book and replaced them with some random side stories and very unfitting action.

Yeah I think people who like iron man the most watched it around when it came as it was a lot more unique and interesting at that point. In 2008 the oldest gen z were 9 so people who like iron man the most tend to be young millennial or old gen z. There also tends to be a disconnect between the oldest members of gen z and those about 5 years younger to the point where they don't always feel like the same generation due to the rapid proliferation of internet during that time and how that affected people differently growing up.

So you could be watching and reacting to the movie with this link on screen, and anyone who wants to join you just enters it. By John Wick 5 he'll be like "ah ha it's a Tuesday evening and my right shoe has it's laces untied so you can't touch me for 15 minutes" and then the enemy will be like "but John, it's me the Constipator and I have no obligation to follow rules plus my top button is blue" and then they walk away from eachother before a new person with a scythe shows up.
For what is actually on this list, its pretty solid.. only major miss is need to swap Spiderman and Back to the Future. Sounds like we'd be in the same place overall on Die Hard too, although I personally rate them in order (obviously with 1 the best, 5 the worst)

I actually bought the special edetion of the hobbit on dvd. I thought: maybe their second chance at editing this is better. Biggest mistake of my life. I swear, the extendet edition of 3 has another themepark ride on a giant goat in it. And the commentary track is like: The giant cgi goat wasn't finished for the theatrical release, but now, finaly we can put it in the movie.

I swear, the extendet edition of 3 has another themepark ride on a giant goat in it. And the commentary track is like: The giant cgi goat wasn't finished for the theatrical release, but now, finaly we can put it in the movie.

Kung Fu Panda trilogy would be god tier if it wasnt for the third movie, it was decent but man the second film does so much with everything they had in the first one. The perfect sequel.
