      Döner is a German-Turkish dish invented by Turkish immigrants living in Germany. It’s definetly also German.

      Lamb döner kebab served on a plate with rice and grilled vegetables existed in Turkey for at least 100 years before that.

Nichts am Döner ist türkisch-deutsch. Das Ding ist türkisch. Punkt. Es gibt jedoch einen deutschen Spin-off des Döners. In der Türkei (oder Arabien Shawarma) ist üblicherweise keine Soße und kein Kraut drinnen. Brot, Fleisch, bissl Salat (viel weniger, dafür mehr fleisch) ist der original türkische Döner. Schmeckt auch ehrlicherweise geiler.

      ​​@@lazrseagull54nein, selbst Dönerfleisch in Brot ist türkisch und gabs auf den Straßen Istanbuls bereits Jahrzehnte bevor es den ersten in Berlin gab. NUR die Soße ist Deutsch aber das ist so als ob ich sagen würde, Spaghetti Bolognese ist Deutsch weil ich keinen Mozarella sondern Deutschen Käse drauf mache. Ne ist trotzdem italienisch.
      Es ist leider aber eine Übertreigung Berliner Stolzes. (Selbst Berliner). Döner ist nicht Deutsch, trotz des vielzitierten Gründermythos. Es gibt aber die deutsche Dönervariante, ja. Also wenn man mit deutschem Döner wirbt weißt du, es ist soßenlastig.

      The one in London is a different chain called GDK (German Döner Kebab). Both these chains are replicating how Turks in Germany serve döner in the crispy Turkish bread with the sauces and salad.

      French Hamburgers (sub with burger patties, letuce onion tomato carrot, fries and sauce)
      Kapsalon (the food one, cuz kapsalon means barbershop also, the food one is kebab meat in a aluminium dish, then fries, then a bunch of cheese, and put in the oven so the cheese is molten with a little orange hue to it, and on top of that, letuce onion tomato carrot, and sauce)
      So the French sub is the sub one, the Kapsalon dish is the contents of it.

    well there are too many ways to make a doner in my city of cologne it is mostly served with Tzatziki (greece sauce) with cocktail sauce or Yogurt Sauce and usaly it comes after the Meat because that way the turkish Bread can absorb the juices from the meat in other part of Germany they add pineapple or corn to it They are so much kinds of Doner

      @@Lawliet_____ The German döner kebab is nothing like the kebabs you get in Turkey. I have eaten kebabs all over in both countries, and they are very different. Hence the term German döner (or Berliner döner). Turkish immigrants invented that style of kebab in Berlin, just like Italian immigrants invented the American styles of pizza (New York style and Chicago). It's like saying Temsa, Otokar and BMCare not Turkish because cars, busses etc was not invented in Turkey.

Different sauces and vegetables. Even the bread and meat combination is different. Now you will find similar in Turkey, but that is because it has spead from Germany to Turkey. Look up any food historian you want, they will claim the same. I get that you have patriotic feelings, but your feelings do not change facts.

      German. Turkish Döners are completely different. This is one, that's part of Germanys street food culture. Germany represents this style of Döner and it can't be compared to Turkish ones, because the sauces, bread type and ingredients differ. There are several Pizza styles around the world. NYC style and so on. No one claims them to be Italian. The same way German Döners should be respected for being German Food.
