Ep6 to 7 is where the show draws the depressing and violent line that it's set in the Boys universe, and the show, and probably the characters, are catapulted from the nice everyday college-life to the scary, chaotic and deadly adult-Boys life. Wouldn't have minded more college fun, but life doesn't ask you when you're ready for adult life.
Senator Robert Singer is played by Jim Beaver, aka Bobby Singer from Supernatural. Who was originally named after the producer of Supernatural Robert Singer. Its intentional and wonderful. Jim Beaver is awesome.
ok hear me out, idea, idea... what if, they take the virus... discard the lethality part, understand how it latches onto the compound v (mentioned last ep) and then take samples from soldier boy to understand how his power fries the v out of their systems, and pair the two... so then you would have the virus able to target and remove the compound v from every supe exposed to it without ending their lives?
You are describing almost the same plot device used in the X-men The Last Stand movie, a mutant cure, just in a different package. I don't think it would end well as in X-men (and unlike X-men, in the Boys universe, there are very few good Supes). Developing anti-viral and even vaccines are pretty quick (as we experienced in the past couple of years IRL, and the Boys universe has even more advanced medical and bio-techs). And with Vought's resources, and their business in leveraging Supes, and stuckpiles of compound V, Vought can just cure them and re-enact the Supes who get infected. And say if Homelander doesn't get infected in the first wave of infection, how do you think he would react when he hears the news of such virus spreading?
Maverick being Translucent's son shouldn't be a spoiler, as back in The Boys season 1 Starlight told Hughie that Translucent had a son named "Hunter or Maverick or something like that" when they were bowling. You just had to connect the dots when you heard the name "Maverick" again in Gen V.
I can’t wait for the next episode as final ep of Gen V on next Tuesday, it’s gonna be exited, Angela. Oh yeah one more thing, if you saw Homelander trailer in Mortal Kombat 1, yes he is released today as the DLC character.
As a reminder, as part of their deal last season, Homelander had the Deep kill the actual contender for VP and it just either happened or from previous machinations that she was next in line. I am of several minds about Newman and what her game actually is, I feel like that discussion with Marie might have been the most honest we have seen her, she probably wants to keep it on ice, but to have it for the same general reason that it was created, to kill Homelander. But also if her powers are so similar to Marie's, and they might just be weaker, Marie has already used her powers in a lot of different ways (and she has some cool moments in the next one) that you wonder if Newman only has the last resort. When this aired, what was funny is people were so confused by Cate and Shetty's last interaction that they thought a scene was cut or it was an illusion. They didn't pay attention to the look on Shetty's face once Cate had her head laid down, she relaxed her mental guards for a moment and forgot exactly what Cate's power level was at because the last she heard, Cate had taken her medication. As a note I believe the medication was surpressing her powers, kind of taking her down to the level Emma Frost bothers to use her push abilities, but I think she is in withdrawal so her powers kind of bounce really high but they have to level out.
This has been such an amazing series to see you react to! Thank you so much, and I'm so excited for if you reaction videos to the new season of The Boys coming mid June :)
@@redrick8900 Rewatch the series... They did name him... twice... Once you finish the finale to Gen V, then you can watch the official trailer to The Boys season 4, because it follows up Gen V's story. The virus plays a big part in the new season, not sure how but we'll find out soon.

I don't watch The Boys, but I loved Gen V. I never understood why Neuman exploded his head, when she apparently possesses the skills to cause a brain aneurysm or heart attack, which could be explained as natural causes. Leaving behind a headless corpse on the other hand, means it's a lot more likely to be connected back to her. Felt like something that was done more because it looked cool than because it's what a smart character would do.

No one is ever truly all bad, in the same way that no one has ever truly all good. Most of us are equal parts good and bad, and there are definitely moments that one side outshines the other. I actually find it pretty easy to understand where most of these characters are coming from, well... Definitely not Tek Knight, never really been attracted to trees, lol, but the rest of their motivations are fairly compelling and understandable. They're all just so deeply flawed that it makes them very human, no matter what kind of powers they have. Real villains don't sit in their layer rubbing their hands together and plotting world destruction like Dr Evil. Real villains never see themselves as the bad guy, and I love that most of the humans in the show are just as bad as the supes, if not worse. So we have two blood benders now, what does anyone really think that they'll be able to get on the same page for long enough to pop Homelanders head like a zit? I can't wait to find out, lolz. I have a speculation, not a spoiler so if it's okay I will post it here. Spaced down in case you might consider it a spoiler... Shetty is not dead. She said to Cate that she had one more push to do, then they could be free. I believe that they got the shapeshifter over to Shetty's, Cate pushed him to become Shetty and pushed him to share the info about Godolkin, then to unalive himself. Now this will allow Shetty to disappear and complete her nefarious work from the shadows. It's a thought.
Kate wouldn't murder some random supe. I would totally buy that she pushed all the people in the room to remember it that way. I support of my theory when Jordon tries to save Shetty he gets blood on his sleeves but later she's wearing the same shirt running around campus, no blood. Could be a continuity error.
The detail about Maverick isn't a plot point and it's something we _could_ have connected the dots before it's mentioned, so I'd say it's a rare occurrence of a harmless spoiler. Though it should have been avoided here if the goal was to get a reaction to it.
Shetty is no different from Butcher. Have you ever thought about it? Both on a revenge tour, both have lost loved ones, both use sup's when they need them and both have absolutely no problem killing them and exterminating them all. Both do not distinguish between good and bad ones and both manipulate people/sups to get what they want. The only reasons we like Butcher and not Shetty is that we hardly know Shetty, her family is not well known to us, they were never shown to us and Butcher is funny and he is surrounded by likeable characters. We are well manipulated by the writers who have invented a show in which manipulation is one of the main topics.
I find it interesting that the two Gen V kids to turn straight up “it’s us or them, so I choose us” are the two arguably the most directly abused, manipulated, powerful, cisgendered, hetero, and white.
