Someone pointed out Andre has Magneto's powers and Professor X's morals, but Cate has Professor X's powers and Magneto's morals
A bit of a dated reference, since Magneto has been good-ish for quite a while in the comics, while Xavier's been revealed to be more and more of a manipulative bastard over the years.
…Now that you mention it, yes.
I always saw more of a Jean Grey with Rogue mix in Cate since she also has that "glove off" thing like Rogue. But what you said makes of course also sense.
I almost don’t blame her. Almost. She certainly carries more trauma than Homelander.
@@beldin2987 And the fact that her powers were being diminished, which also relates to some versions of X-men where Jean's powers are purposefully put in check.
18:54 I think Sam literally made her "feel small." And she shrank.
Yeah. Her power is a reflection of her self-esteem, not actually connected to eating or purging.
It is shame or guilt/happiness.
Angela, if you like Anthony Star, you should totally check out his series "Banshee." An ex-con assumes the identity of a murdered sheriff in the small town of Banshee, Pennsylvania, where he has some unfinished business. It's an amazing show that flew under the radar for years. 4 seasons total (38 episodes), and would make a great reaction series as well.
Exactly what i was gonna write. Great actions, solid cast playing unique characters. Yes i think Angela is ready for "Banshee"
crazy series lol
Even try Outrageous Fortune, if you can find it. Kiwi show he was on almost 20 years ago, crime comedy - he plays twin brothers, one a total idiot petty crim with heart of gold, the other is the exact opposite.
The first 3 seasons of Banshee are amazing and I wish more people reacted to it.
Have you thought about watching The Boys: Diabolical? It’s an 8 episode animated series of short stories that take place in the Boys’ Universe. Each episode is different in animation style and themes. Some episodes are funny and some are just heartbreaking so I imagine you’ll find enjoyment.
Guess you can say Marie disarmed Cate... The way your anger, horror, frustration and tears built up towards the end... Yeah, that's pretty much how i felt. But this was SUCH a well done finale.
Making Sam and Cate the final antagonists of the season was dark, tragic, but given everything that's they've done and that's been done to them... it makes sense.
"Please be Hughie or Starlight. If it's Butcher, I feel so bad for the kids."
The saddest part of this was realizing that Emma shrank because Sam made her feel small. Seems her powers are tied to her emotions.
How many supes has Homelander killed? I f*ck*ng hate hypocrites.
Antony Starr is amazing in Banshee btw.
Zander is amazing for doing the thing! We appreciate u
The editing of your show is pretty great, and very unique, so Xander deserves all the hosannas for that.
On the show...I don't understand why Vought would make Cate and Sam-the two people most likely to kill all the humans at Vought, like Ashley-the "heroes" of the situation.
I’m sure Homelander scared them into it
"Meth head" is code for "escapee from the woods."
So if Homelander decides to bring Cate and Sam into The Seven... Wondering if Homelander is going to hide Black Noir's death by putting Sam in the costume... 🤔
Woah.. that is a wild but very real possibility. Sam has similar hallucinations as Black Noir, so the dark irony is there
Thanks, Xander Congrats on the over 100K Angela (yup, I'm part of that)!
Anthony Star is such a good actor!
Here it becomes clear that Emma does not necessarily have to vomit to become small. It could even be that she only needs to feel small to become small. But I think both ways lead to the goal for her. If the emotional part could replace the physical part, Emma wouldn't have been able to become small when Andre asked her to break into the woods. She had felt really good, like a hero. The emotional part do not replace the vomiting or eating, at least not yet.
The security guards *DO* know what’s going on.
From the moment I saw how much you loved Emma, my mind kept playing that scene with Sam in my head and imagined how you were gonna react to it. And... yeah, i felt the hurt second hand too. But it seems that Emma's powers can be used based on how she feels...
I love the Cate/Andre dynamic. It’s such a shame what happened to Andre’s actor, truly tragic. Cate is basically evil Professor X and Andre is basically good Magneto, so I would have loved to see Andre make a helmet to shield his thoughts/mind from Cate’s powers in season 2.
Also a lot of supes have heightened durability. Annie tanked a .50 cal round to the chest and Stormfront took Homelander’s lasers as a kink.
But Cates powers works like Rogues, she has to touch a person so thats why she always wears gloves normally. A helmet wouldn't help here at all. Just some kind of full body suit.
@@beldin2987 I think it’s implied she is way more powerful but the meds have been keeping her powers down to a minimum, thus needing touch. I believe there is a scene where she describes hearing other peoples thoughts, and she wasn’t touching them then.
@@Etticos. Just hearing thoughts is still a big difference to manipulating them. Just look at the end where Marie "unarmed" her by letting her arm explode so she couldn't manipulate Jordan. If she had the power already to manipulate through the air, she didn't had to bother with that.
Of course its also possible that she just isn't aware of it, but i hope thats not the fact else she would be really too powerful.
Seeing Marie give that supe a heart attack just shows me Neuman just likes to be messy LOL I get blowing the head of the CIA lady and congress (to send a message) but she didn't have to pop the doctors head in episode 7.
Also I wonder if she will blame Marie for things she has done.
12:43 "Sam..!"
hehe you really pulled out the disappointed mom-tone there xD
Thank you Angela and Xander!!
Such a shocking ending to a FANTASTIC season. Can't wait for the upcoming season of The Boys to see how this ties in!
I WAS WAITING FOR YOU TO SEE THE ARM SCENE FOR SOOOO LONG 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Congrats for 100k!!!
10:02 Jordan was the ONLY supe who could stand up against Sam until Emma held him down. 18:07 Sam wouldnt be free if Emma hadnt saved him and he has the GALL to say "you're not a hero", BS!
Well she broke a dangerous psychopath out of a mental institution and he murdered like two dozen people.
Omg congrats on 100k!!! You completely deserve it + more!
"I was very upset when somone told me he was the voice of Bolin"
Sorry for doing it, but if I had know so did everyone else hahah
I swear I do that with voice actors all the time where I don’t find out until WAY late into a show that someone I’m familiar with voices a character. It took me until this most recent season of invincible to realize that Cecil is voiced by Walton Goggins
He is?! I did not know that either. Walton is almost everyone now
„Fuck you, Sam.“
I had the exact same reaction. In that moment he stopped being a victim for me and became an aggressor. Hurting Emma like that? No, sir! 😢
But he's not wrong.
So all the murders he committed, totally fine.
@@redrick8900 Didn’t say that. But I have no problems with the guards in the woods, they had it more than coming. They were well aware what happens there and the very first interaction with a civilian we see is them how they slide his throat. So yeah, that’s defense, not murder.
@@Frank-Voight-Kampff All the guards in the woods know is that they are guarding mentally disturbed super humans. He slaughters the guards that come for him at the dive in even though they have no capability of hurting him. He's a classic psycho super villain.
@@redrick8900
remember in episode 2 when those same guards murdered an innocent school guard
Homelander is 100% moving his ches pieces into place to kill all the non-supe humans in The Boys S4...
The Boys and Gen V show a world that is so structurally flawed, that any attempt to fix it merely breaks it in a different way.
They need an Eren to initiate a rumbling to do a hard reset.
I'm so excited to see your reactions to the new season of The Boys and you have done an amazing job with this series!! Thank you so much :)
Emma's power has probably always been purely mental, purging and eating have just been the triggers for it.
Congrats on getting to 100k.
Marie tanked a blast from Homelander. Now that adds some context to interactions between Victoria Neuman and Homelander. Also Sam and Emma just aren't meant to be. She gravitates to him because they're both broken, but in ways that are too different to reconcile. Sam had everything he cared about weaponized and used against him and spent most of his life deliberately broken to see what he could physically take. It turned him into a cold person who is just beyond Emma's help. I foresee Sam's only redemption being to sacrifice himself. I don't think he could ever be normal again after what he has endured.
The show doesn't say it but it's important to note that it's not normal to become a psycho because you've had a terrible life. Sam is wrong. There are tons of people who've been tortured and wrongly imprisoned that go on to be highly moral and upstanding people.
I think a portion of that is simply acceptance. The world is the way it is and there’s very little any of us can do about it as individuals. We have very little choice but to suck it up because we’re mostly impotent. He’s broken to a massive degree AND I’d say when especially broken people get power, it’s rarely to anyone’s benefit. Not even their own, ultimately. There are plenty of real world examples.
He has far fewer restraints in general than most people. He doesn’t have to suck it up. So he doesn’t. It’s telling that he had to artificially silence his conscience. He KNOWS it’s wrong on a fundamental level. He’s just fucked up enough that he doesn’t care, doesn’t want to challenge his pain and rage. He wants to ride it because he can.
After all, he didn’t make HIMSELF into a monster. They did that. He’s just “accepting his fate.”
@@Saje3D Most people who go through horrible things aren't broken. Nelson Mandela, John McCain, James Stockdale. Plenty of people with traumatic pasts get power without being monsters.
I can't unhear Bolin now😂 ignorance really is bliss sometimes😂😂😂
Why are people so caught up with that? I mean, I get why but I guess I also don't😂
Chance :( They said they wont recast his role
THANK YOU XANDER! CLAP CLAP CLACLAPCLAP!!
Thanks Xander 🙏
This is the last time we saw Chance Perdomo in the first season of this show before he died. And also they’re not gonna recast him (confirmed by the producers of Gen V). Atleast I’m hyped for The Boys Season 4 after this.
*In Memory of Chance Perdomo*
October 19th, 1996-March 30th, 2024
🙌👏XANDER! 👏🙌
Lookin' great, Angela! I hope you're doing well! Nice reaction, btw.
I can't wait for The Boys S4! Only few days left!
Thank you Xander
Love ur hair like this! 🩵🩵
It's gonna be a hell of a time soon with all these shows and movies coming out and for me trying to keep up with great reactors like you. 2 days until The Boys!
I would 100% watch every episode of you reacting to Supernatural. I also know that 15 seasons might be problematic..😏
It kinda bothered me how long it took for Marie to improve her powers but I fcking screamed when she pulled the blood out of the dead bodies xD
Thats what I wanted to see the whole time, since I found out there is a blood bender in the TheBoys Universe.
I don’t think the young adults in The Woods were students who thought they were going to college.
I think they were people in trouble with the law because of something they did with their abilities (some with mental health issues) and that is how they wound up in The Woods.
Funnylilgalreacts Awesome Video Today!!🔥🐐🐐💎
I have a wild theory that Stormfront is not dead...she faked it so that she could get away from Homelander. Her eventual recovery will be linked to experiments being performed on Gecko (the nerdy lab supe who could grow back limbs) way back in season 2 of The Boys..!
🤔
Idk why but i find it funny when Jordan tells them to calm down and access the situation even though there's very clearly no point of return from this 😂
Stormfront says in the boys that Ryan is the first naturally born supe. I'm not sure that she's correct, but as far as we know it seems to be the case
I'ts a plot hole, the creator obviously didn't had all this universe planned out at that time.
@@reynaldolorenzo8409 Why would that be a plot hole?
@reynaldolorenzo8409 It's not a plot hole at all. When a supe gives birth, their child doesn't have their powers. So they also inject them with V and because their kid's DNA is similar to that their parents, they get the same powers. Ryan truly is the first naturally born supe
@@WaltDevil060 When does the show say that? You just invented that yourself. Andre and Maverick are two that are naturally born; the show never said they weren't, and that their parents gave them compound v, so it is a plot hole until the show explicitly says that they were given compound v.
@@alphanerd7221 Because Andre and Maverick are also natural born.
Remember that both Sam, and Cate, are both psychopaths.
Can’t wait for the Fallout episode 8 reaction holy dooley just finished it last night
good reaction
There are a couple of xmen characters who can store the psyches of other people in their own mind, usually when they die. One is actually a character with multiple personalities I think.
Be nice to Emma or we war!
Please react to The Bear; it's a masterpiece, and S3 releases on June 27. The episodes are 30 minutes, so you have time to finish it.
HI ZANDER! ❤
HI
Star is just born for that role. when is the new season?
This Thursday
I doubt they're in a mind prison...by this point you've seen The Boys 401 and know how Marie can survive getting lasered by Homelander. It probably didn't do a thing to her except knock her out due to the concussive force of the blast.
Who here thinks The Bear will be great for Angela to react to?
Nice
Really to bad about Sam. I liked him, pretty sympathetic character, been through alot of trauma, so I didn't mind the violent instability or the bloody dismemberings. But then he had to go and be mean to Emma, and that's crossing the line, so now he's dead to me. Such a shame
Cool with the mass murderer, not cool with him saying mean things to his girlfriend.
Great!
RIP to Chance Perdomo who played Andre
Gratz on your 100k, and to Xander and yourself for your anniversary!
Exploding arm man... god i loved Gen V. And i still hate kate but not sam...
The soundrack was especially killer...
r.i.p Chance 🕊
''You are superior to them''
Okay Magneto, slow down.
I just realized how Sam and Butcher's stories with their brothers are similar, albeit inverted in some ways.
❤
Brazil here 🤩
Hope The Bear is the next on the List!
couple of things about This show - Love it.
Loved the reaction Also.
The Guards At the ''School'' In episode One when Sam Broke Out Of the Forest
Code name for that was ''Meth head'' I believe that is for Supe Escapee and Those who Start freaking out. ie attacking other's
Another Thing ''Cate'' Is Very Much Like ''Emma Frost'' From the Brotherhood of evil''-X-man.
And Sam is Suffering From a form of Schizophrenia ( My childhood friend Got it at 18-20 years Old-)
Sam Seeing thing's-People and puppets that are not there. Out of touch with reality. And easily Confused. One Minute he Believe's he is Doing the right thing then shortly after He Tells Emma Hurtful Shit. That is the Mental health disorder (And I do Not think Sam is evil....He Needs Medication and to be around (Positive People) Cate is the Last person Sam should be around when He is Confused, Angry, Having disorganized thoughts and Hallucinations!
I think Emma Shrinking after the break up. Her power is From a place of feeling down (Going small) possibly feeling happy going Big. After all Bulimia is Coming from a feeling of Negative Image ...Thats just some thoughts ( My opinion's i maybe wrong)
emma might shrank because she feels so small and wanted to disapear, just like when she did the other thing
Head gaius
Jim Beaver first, then Jenson Ackles, now Jeffrey Dean Morgan .. i just wait for Jared Padalecki in season 5, so we will have "The boys" all together again 😄😄
They aren't going to recast Andre, they decided that Andre has to die and the trio who are left will mourn him just like the cast did. But that said, your idea that they are in a mind prison (also what I am still holding out hope Scott Lang was in after Quantumania) might be the way they can still return to their situation. The hospital gowns they are all in had Vs on them so most people have figured that Ashley jumped out of the helicopter and encouraged Homelander to not kill them but let her take them in because, also Marie and Emma have useful powers and they are still freshmen so Ashley could argue they are still malleable. I had imagined before that Andre was key to at least one escape attempt but that might be when Victoria is able to convince the Boys that she is more or less on their side re Homelander that the ladies of the Boys set out on a rescue mission to save these supes that they believe could be allies.
There is a confusing theory that Sam will don the Black Noir costume which is supported by the fact in the trailer Billy is fighting BN but he is not fighting in the same way, more like Sam. But the confusion lies in that the guy who used to play Black Noir is still a cast member but he also is still the guy in the age range from the flashback to the 80s. So I am guessing he plays his son and we might learned that Ryan isn't the first natural born supe.
But yeah, the major thought coming out of this was that the Boys managed to do a live action Xmen story long before Marvel. They just had Xavier have Magneto's default position and Magento more in Charles's camp though Marie is more the leader of that side.
Angela, the eye thing is a hint from Kripke. No spoilers, watch Supernatural and you'll get it.
Just two things: I think Cate, Sam, and the Woods escapees were only killing non-supes not “their own”and I’m pretty sure Homelander intentionally did not kill Marie, probably for some twisted reason that will assuredly be revealed before Season 2
X: 👏
This show actually made me turn coat and root for the supes 😂
This episode made my blood boil. I loved Cate and Sam so much but now, I’m ACHING for them to get what they deserve. They became the very things they tried not to be and were perfectly ok with it. In other words, they’re dead to me.
P.S: 26:09 was hilarious.
HOMELANDER IS THE BEST.
You should watch Banshee. It's Anthony Starr showtime series it is crazy
✊️
"I don't know why you're watching this if you haven't watched The Boys" -- so, I gave The Boys a shot when it came out, and it just wasn't really working for me, personally. After that first episode, that was it for me. But I have loved Gen V. Go figure! ;-)
I think this show is doing x-men but reverse.
I know people are saying Andre and Kate are the reverse Magneto and Professor X. Which they are on the surface.
But imo Marie and Kate are the Magneto and Professor X. There are so many similarities between them that i remember thinking they would be great best friends or great enemies/rivals.
I think Marie's brotherhood will be the ones to want to protect the younger generations of supes and protect humans and go against the school.
i think s4 of the boys will have the school create their own heros aka xmen that Marie, Emma, Jordan and whoever else joins them will have to go against.
RIP Chance Perdomo aka Andre
please consider checking out antony starr in banshee someday. so many awesome characters, so many unusual circumstances
Damn.
Hi hi
The Boys season 1 Maverick mention starting at 2 minute mark: /watch?v=WD5_Gp1Kkm0
I saw an ad with The Deep or some random clip where he told off his agent and said f*** fresca. I would say f*** Le Croix instead more often than not as I've tried a lot of their flavors but I bought a minute maid agua fresca mango drink. It tastes exactly like Jumex. I'm practically gonna call it delicious. I just assumed it would be like a soda because it's in a can but it's not. it's juice. It's straight up apple juice and mango juice. Maybe there is other frescas that aren't so tasty but I haven't branched out enough to know. The Deep is wrong, so far as I know.
The director is bolin???? What . And rip chance I wonder what season 2 looks like
really hate how this last ep flipped Sam.
They replace actors that pass away all the time. It's rough, but it happens...Dumbledore was replaced...it takes a moment to adjust but then you go on
It’s not gonna happen. The showrunner already confirmed that they are going to kill his character, obviously going to use the storyline of using his powers can kill him, so probably whatever they are being keeled they made the character use his powers and that got him killed, done.
Dumbledore is a crucial character from a well stablished franchise, not a secondary character from a fly by the seat of its pants round robin murder show.
Bob absolutely deserved that and worse they tortured sam for years
It's sad what happened to Chance. I looked it up tonight and it seems like he's not getting recast. I agree with this. Swapping actors is something I'd rather not see. Just write them out with something better than a line about how they died offscreen. Newsradio was a sitcom that did a full length episode sendoff where everyone read letters from our departed actor. It was the right kind of sendoff. The next episode they brought in a permanent replacement, another person with a handful of his character traits but was so obnoxious I didn't think it was worth the comedy he brought to the table, but I rolled with it to keep watching the show.
Of course they [the sups] shouldn't be killing indiscriminately; that should go without saying. It's not that hard, from a secular humanist perspective, to view this content and root for the four that ended up in the windowless cell (who knows where). I believe that is what the screenwriter(s) intend for us to do. That there are some persons who may revel in the violence of revenge fantasies without regard to consequences is one reason our current society is in its fragile state. My personal view is that they are flawed individuals, perhaps sociopaths. Yet they exist; and they have been given implicit permission lately to display their sociopathy freely; even encouraged to do so. We who believe ourselves to be rational and sane, non-fascistic humans must stand firmly against them. Otherwise society will crumble before our eyes. The "'Great Experiment" of U.S. democracy is at a tipping point, pushed by hostile actors with a wish for us to be destroyed through mistrust. The Boys is a mirror held up to us, an allegory of our times. Let us hope that non-dystopian forces prevail against the assault of shallow minded, anti-intellectual idiocy.
You should react to the arcane season 2 teaser trailer🙏🙏
