The commentator suggested that she could have been 12..etc well to be honest some of the non Chinese gymnasts looked VERY young as well.

Its kinda funny how this NBC team question her age but in TF , EF , they really like Jiang Yuyuan in FX. More, she already compete at WC 2007. If there is no issue during 2007, why her age want to be brag during Olympic Year in 2008?
shar - ky Shawn Johnson, Ksenia Semonva are both just as small and neither of them look sixteen either.. There is not advantage in being underage or small if you lack power, when for team medals and in the AA you need a strong vault which scores higher then beam and floor.
shar - ky actually, back in 2000, dong fangxiao and yang yun were both underage but competed anyway, and dong actually competed in the world championships the year before, so it has happened before
people don't think they're ten... they just like to be annoying to say that.... The controversy was whether they were 14 or 16. I personally don't think they cheated, but a 14 year old could do it

if she was in worlds 2007 then how will she be underage? same with yang yilin and there was no proof for deng linlin. He kexin was the only questionable ine but looking at her now she looks 18

@emmyjo720 hell go back to 1980 Davydova looks 10..lol..I know the age requirements were different but I mean you can't just go based on looks...Gutsu and Shannon Miller both looked very young in 92...in fact the North Korean that was proved to be too young looked older lol...be happy that the next olympics is in 2012 and we can put this aside.

96horseluvr Deng Linlin didn't look much bigger or older four years later in London. She is just tiny. In Rio, Flavia Saraiva, Amy Tinkler, Rebeca Andrade, Zheng Chusong, where just as tiny and under developed for their age. Look at Morgan Hurd now, smaller that Deng Linlin and He Kexin.

After seeing this, I don't care if she's 16 or 6 or fucking 60... She's irrefutably awesome and it was a blessing for the Olympics that she competed.
