Watching this, I almost cried at how happy she and all the ladies must have felt to win gold in their country in front of the world. THE PRESSURE MUST HAVE BEEN MORE THAN EVER IMAGINED!!!!!!!!!! In my opinion, Cheng Fei showed the heart of a champion as great as any athlete in History that day. I am American Black Man and I can tell she has heart like Micheal Jordan only Chinese version!

I remember this. I had no idea at the time that underage competitors meant more flexibility and less prone to injury. Once gymnasts hit their older teens+ they basically become ancient and unable to complete these kinds of maneuvers with ease.
The age restrictions was eventually done away with altogether. Even if the Chinese gymnasts were underage, it’s kind of irrelevant now since the Olympics no longer sees an athlete’s age as a form of an advantage or cheating. Underage or not, the Chinese Team won their gold medals on merit.
