      Yes and no. I don't like how he worded his comment...as if she didn't accomplish anything. It was kind of a back-handed comment in my opinion. Yes, it is a shame she didn't grab more medals, but she had a brilliant career, which included two Olympic games. She IS phenomenal. This floor routine was amazing. She was 4th in the 2004 all-around and 7th in the 2008 all-around. That is phenomenal in my eyes. Everyone focuses too much on the medals. Tim's comment, whether intentional or not, had a negative spin on it and really at that particular time his comments should have been focused on this beautiful floor routine and her amazing artistry and skills. I'm sick of Tim and now sick of Nastia. They need better commentators. The top picks should be Bart Connor, Kathy Johnson, and Amanda Borden. I believe they are stronger.

      @@pappysprite Yes but I think Anna had a case of being unlucky and then just making uncharacteristic mistakes during finals: beam Athens 2004 EF, Beijing beam EF (even though she still should've gotten bronze over Fei), vault Beijing 2008, floor Beijing 2008, two huge mistakes in Team EF Beijing. Don't get me wrong she's still an amazingly accomplished gymnast, but she also has let the nerves get to her at the most inconvenient times which is frustrating but you know she still gave us beautiful performances to rewatch.

      @saragrant9749 Год назад

      @@You-dh1dushe’d have likely taken bronze in beam finals in 2008 if not for one thing- start value. Even though Fei had several bobbles she still accomplished all of her SV. Anna lost on SV when she missed that element, along with the deduction for the error. While her routine certainly seemed cleaner in the long run, that was a big deal in a time when SV counted so much- especially when hers was bronze medal sized WITH the element. I’d have loved to have seen her get it, but also understand how it didn’t.

    • @alexanderortizcruz7986
      @alexanderortizcruz7986 7 лет назад +4

      Komova tuvo gran dificultad en 2012. En particular, y después de seguirlas un buen tiempo, creo que la gimnasia rusa hace a sus chicas propensas al fallo y a las lesiones debido a la extensión que alcanzan sus articulaciones, la altura que obtienen en sus elementos, las perfectas puntas y la postura corporal tan bella que hace a cualquiera morir por esa gimnasia preciosa que luce sin esfuerzo y es a la vez impactante. Ojalá las condiciones de las rusas, y otras escuelas más plásticas como la china, se valoraran más y no fuesen vistas solo como "divas" (tal y como incansablemente las llaman los comentadores americanos) pero al parecer la gimnasia de nuestro tiempo es todo músculos y agitar las manos, hacer saltos y giros "aceptables" y apostar siempre por la acrobacia explosiva.

    Pavlova should be considered as a reference of the beauty of the sport. She put herself in another league with those lines, amplitude and choreo. She should be considered just as great as Lilia, Nadia, SIlivas, Nellie, Maria Filatova, Baraksanova and even Kuchinskaya. All of them took their gymnatics to another dimension with this kind of quality.

She had a 10 SV on FOUR events, not three like Anna. Same with silver and bronze. You want an AA medal at the Olympics? Have routines that can compete with the very best ACROSS THE BOARD.

Pavlova should walked out of Beijing with 1 bronze for beam, and a bronze or silver medal in 2004 in the AA. They should really call this acrobatic gymnastics and not artistic gymnastics anymore. All she had to do was up her difficulty with some different tumbling. She could have kept much of the dance, incorporated a bit more challenging turns and been in contention. Not that difficult and certainly not on the judges for how she chose to compose her routine.
