    That chunk of debris (can't even call it dust) on the Pelagos crystal would drive me insane...in addition to it being completely inexcusable on a watch in that price range.

    Although the Seiko is thicker than de Tudor, it doesn't look that way because of the "massive" looking sides of the Tudor. I find that plain ugly. The Seiko looks much more refined with its beveled sides.

  • @NofaceCat
    @NofaceCat 2 месяца назад +7

    The spec under the crystal should not absolutely not happen to a $4600 watch never should go out the door. It should’ve been caught in final inspection.
    Are used to manufacture, medical instruments and the box with shipped to Germany they would open up the box. Take a few out take them out of the packaging and inspect them visually if they found so much is one fingerprint they would go 100% through every instrument in that box And I would hear about it if that would’ve happened, but it never happened. There’s no excuse for this to happen even with today’s quality control. They got visual inspection with cameras and computers. That should pick it up. It’s not a good sign. San Martin has a quality control problem like that. It’s OK it’s a $200 watch not a $4600 watch not excusable.

    Always look at a watch before buying it, be careful and inspect it don’t let emotion get in the way of logical thinking. I own both of these and have contemplated selling my SPB143 but find they both fit a purpose as the pelagos is very much a tool watch where the spb143 is vintage inspired with more elegance…also, I can swap between bracelets and straps on the SPB easier than the pelagos.

    Here the thing you can get the spb for $700 used $870 new. The price difference puts these so far apart it’s not really fair to compare. The Tudor no doubt is a better watch but at that price range for a couple grand more now you are in Rolex territory where with the seiko for two grand more you still aren’t even in Tudor territory. If you truly value your dollar it’s tough to not choose the seiko. If you want a better movement and possibly the prestige and ok with spending 2k more then get the Tudor or save and get a no date sub.

    I love the Tudor but, given everything Rob has mentioned, I would go for the Seiko as it is cheap as chips to have serviced. P.S. Why Seiko doesn’t sign their crowns is mind-boggling… it will cost Pennie’s to do that, if at all.

    At those prices I would go with the Seiko. When one gets over 2.5K, the Longines Hydroconquest GMT is hard to beat. What model is the yellow Seiko on your wrist?

    The Tudor is in a far higher class & having held both; it’s blatant. The materials and quality of the Tudor are elite, while the Seiko is a good value as a beater or entry level watch.

    I'd go for the Tudor and I'm actually looking into buying it soon.
    I have a gilt version of that Seiko and it's probably the worst watch I've ever purchased. The inaccurate timekeeping is just garbage.
    Im sure there was some regulation done to the Seiko on this vid.

    So bored of the 62000 dive watches available.
    One is vastly overrated and overpriced and the other has ugly square hands.

    You can see how flat the caseback on the Pelagos is vs the domed caseback on the seiko. I can't stress this enough, the difference in comfort that makes is enormous. Slim whatches with flat casebacks are exponentially more comfortable.

    Whoever designed that hour hand on the Tudor needs to be fired and blackballed from the watch industry forever.
