Also I have in no way been told to do this, but the Ultimate Driving Course is definitely well worth the money. £30 now could save you a fortune in the future, I progressed quickly after buying the driving course, always revising before my lesson on the things that I would be completing. On any test move your head to check the mirrors so the examiner can see the observation. With HGVs / PSVs now called LGVs / PCVs I believe, it used to be every third lamppost check the mirror. After you pass just move your eyes. I have driven and past car, bike, taxi, bus, coach and truck test this way first time.. Apart from large motorbikes and riding them abroad I find the larger the vehicle the easier it is to drive and park. Generally speaking cars have shitty mirrors, way too small length ways for good observation and crap blind spot mirrors usually as well as being too low and near the road. Urgh.

for the people that are worrying about driving tests and lessons, firstly don't let yourself get ripped off by the teacher. I had many lessons with a teacher and all he spoke about was how my life was going, he never really spoke about the driving too much, however I still passed first time. I also taught myself how to be comfortable with a vehicle, but other than that. The driving test is a bag of piss. Just be nice to your examiner and have some self belief, remember you can do anything you want to do if you put your mind to something.

    • @ceesmith
      @ceesmith 2 года назад +3

You've got this backside forward Steven. Instructors are never short of learners. If they need more driving time to prepare for the test then it's only in the interest of the learner. And it's up to you to ask the instructor if you have a question. As for the test, it does not matter if you're Mr personality or super attractive - the test is the test and they will do you no favours if you're not up to it. The best advice I can give anyone is research their instructor, get a batch of lessons and learn the Highway Code word for word. Practice it to the point you can simply recite it. Back in my test day that part of the test was done on the day and in the car and it's a massive edge to go into the test fully prepped.

If he's the first car at a set of traffic lights he feels so much pressure to set off quickly so as to not slow the drivers behind down. But when he focuses too much on setting off quickly he then stalls and stresses out even more. I have to remind him that he needs to drive at his own pace and not concern himself with the cars behind

When he figured he was right cuz they responded to him back in turkish we just sat there as he talked to them for five minutes before saying that we should move off. I seriously dont understand. There's a very serious problem with society because everyone wants to have a driving license no matter how good they actually are. There are naturally people who have a talent and drive well but the majority aren't so fortunate and cause huge danger for the rest. In my opinion people who aren't as gifted in driving as others should restrain themselves from driving as this problem is serious and dangerous. For example, young students don't drive very well, due to the lack of practise, however yet there are some that do unjustified, unwise and not logical actions that isn't caused by the lack of practise. Many drivers do this and therefore the rules and regulations should be stricter about who should be allowed to drive.

Outcome? 2 minor mistakes and 1 serious for hesitation (stress). After that got 2nd attempt as fast as it was possible with less than 5 hours of a "refresher" and passed with couple more minors mainly caused by stress, not lack of knowledge. That means I got my licence from beggining to an end in a month. My point? Believe in yourself as you can do it as quick and well as you wish. Also try to forget about stress as he isn't your friend.

3 Lessons is pretty standard, at least where I live. You just get your permit to practice driving with someone who has a drivers licence and they teach you how to drive. Then you take maybe 1 or 2 lessons with a professional teacher who can see if there is anything you need to practice on. If he/she approves, you can take the driving test.

I’m sure people realise this but checking your blind spot when moving off from stationary traffic is unnecessary but you shouldn’t be penalised unless you make another mistake eg if you pull away too slowly and delay traffic behind.
Same for excessive observations, they were unnecessary but other than wasting time she wasn’t doing anything wrong. She should have spotted traffic but excessive observations alone is what I’d call due diligence rather than a fault.
Pin highlighted this but as embarrassing as it is to realise you’re in the wrong lane and have misheard or misunderstood instructions, misrouting safely and legally isn’t a driving fault. Eg I signalled too early approaching a roundabout because there was a small road to the left before it but I took the turn and the examiner glared at me but didn’t fault me for it and redirected me.

Blind spots don't exist anyway, 98% of people just set their door mirrors incorrectly. You shouldn't be able to see your door in the wing mirror.
Speak to police officers, they'll show you how to set your wing mirrors correctly.
You think cops check their blind spot if they're darting between traffic?

Thanos What’s the area called that you can’t see in your door mirror?

Thanos regardless of whether police officers or any drivers choose to be observant or adjust their mirrors, that doesn’t justify you being unsafe by not performing the necessary observations.

Just watching this and hearing just the little sounds brought back so many memories of how nervous I was on my test. So glad I don’t ever have to do anything like that again

She's having to move her head across a bit to see in the left wing mirror. Would have needed adjusting.

Mya Pinion That might just be to make clear she’s looking, my driving instructor told me to do that because examiners are really picky about mirror checks and if its not inherently clear they will mark you down for it

@@bethan1904 Oh, l see. It just looks like the pupil would be taking their eyes off the road a bit too long each time in order to do this. Every milli-second of eyes on road is so precious when you're only learning. Thanks for the info, l didn't know. 😊

It's a mock test not a lesson. And so long as you have proper control of the car you wont get a fault. Crossing hands, not being at 9 and 3 or 10 and 2. Aren't actually faults on the test. So long as you are safe
