  • Hall of Fame member Max Dercum donated many items to the Colorado Snowsports Museum since it was founded in 1975. Many of these items include film reels, containing a slice of Colorado's snow sports history and heritage. This digitized footage from the 1950s, in particular, shows the little things that make for the perfect ski day. At Aspen, this film shows sunbathing, riding the lift, the Sundeck, starting that first run, and a woman enjoying what looks like the perfect cheeseburger on the mountain.
Thank you Max Dercum for allowing us to look back and enjoy these moments in ski history.

I was glad to have met Max and Edna during my time as a photographer in Summit. Even more honored to own a pair of Max's skis and deliver a pair of them to the Ski Tip Lodge.
