  • Digitized from 16mm film, this footage shows Arapahoe Basin Ski Area, Steamboat, and Aspen during the 1950 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships. At the end of the film, it credits Adolf Coors Company. The subject is Colorado skiing. It starts with approximately three minutes at Arapahoe Basin. Then for two minutes, it shows Steamboat Springs downtown parade, ski band, horse skijoring, and Howelsen Hill ski jumpers. Then the rest of the film is at Aspen documenting the 1950 FIS World Ski Championships.
The donor found this old film at an estate sale near Lakewood, Colorado. The date of their purchase was between 2010-2015. They did not know what was on the film, so in 2024 they paid to have it professionally restored, cleaned, repaired, and digitally transferred to a digital file 1080p high definition.
