He's exaggerating, I feel. I thought, this movie was just okay like many that came before. There are questionable choices for making this movie though. Lol.
That is hilarious given every other characterization I have ever heard of Kraven the Hunter. Usually he is instead a crazy, obsessive hunter constantly testing himself against the most dangerous game he can find, including villains and heroes. I guess if you are trying to make him more sympathetic you go with the PETA angle, but it goes against everything people know about him.

This great review, along with your enthusiastic belief in finding [at least some] good in every movie, reminds me of critic Wilfrid Sheed, who once wrote that “no film is ever so bad that you can’t find some virtue in it”. After Otto Preminger’s "Hurry Sundown" was released in 1967, fellow critic Rex Reed reminded Sheed of this statement, suggesting he must not have seen "Hurry Sundown". In response, Sheed simply remarked that “to criticize it would be like tripping a dwarf.”
I had only listened to the first few minutes of the review when I made my last comment, but I felt the need to come back after the review and say that I'm so glad Dan became a critic. I know movies like this are challenging, but I'm so happy to have someone I have come to trust who will subject themselves to horror shows like Kraven so we don't have to.
Hi Dan! Just found your channel just recently. I loved your work back with Screen Junkies back in the early 2010's and it's refreshing that you've carved out your own little content stream here on your own personal channel. Cheers!
At least there's a translation barrier and a weird plot that (kind of) explains that one. Is Sony going to claim their movies are better in the original Japanese?
“This also contains one of the worst lines of dialogue that I’ve ever heard in any movie.” To be fair, “He was in the Amazon with my mom when she was researching spiders right before she died” didn’t make it into the Madame Web theatrical cut.
I really think that Sony is just trying to retain the film rights to Spider-Man and the related villains/characters, quality of films be damned - they will do all they can to milk it dry to avoid it reverting back to Disney.
Kraven having Dan questioning his life choices is on a whole other platform of bad 😅 While it was a rough road trip, your viewers appreciate your honest reviews and I hope you get worthwhile views on this video to make up for the crazy experience.

I hate how they are now turning the DC and Marvel bad guys into movies. In other words these companies have run out of ideas and interesting super heroes so they are now scraping the barrel for anything in their inventory to expand their "universe" and make more money.
Sometimes I think so. Revenge against Marvel or somesuch. The Netflix Daredevil showrunner had started working on the Sinister Six idea...the current Sony product is without any overall good creator control. The producers treat them worse than the old comic book movies. I remember Red Letter Media accusing Adam Sandler of deliberately making bad movies as a scam, and that's what the Sony movies feel like.
