Best Hyundai Venue review I have seen yet. I especially appreciated the detailed explanation of the exterior design details and features. To be frank, my husband and I both drive Mercedes. There is something about the Venue that I find fascinating and appealing. I keep watching RUclips reviews about it. I think, “Could I somehow use this fun little vehicle in my life? Extra car for guests? Beach car?” 🤷🏻♂️ I’m intrigued that I’m literally trying to find a reason to justify purchasing a Venue.

I picked up the car 3 days ago and I’m loving it. I am active in the Knights of Columbus and needed a car that could carry large boxes of food or clothing that get distributed in the community and the Venue fits the bill. It’s big enough for the cargo and compact enough to get around the city. Also fun to drive.

After watching a bunch of videos, I went out and drove one of these. The biggest issue I see is that the low power makes it frustrating in an urban environment. Stopping at a light every two minutes is possibly the worst situation for this car. For the price difference, the Kia Soul was better in every possible way and barely more money.

Hi, Rita! Thank you so much for checking out this video. This truly comes down to personal preference. Here is my mini breakdown, let me know if you need any further clarification: SIZE: The Kona is larger, thus it boasts slightly more interior volume and cargo space than the Venue. PRICE: Due to the Kona being larger than the Venue, it carries a higher price tag. The Kona SEL Plus is approx. $24.5, and Venue SEL Premium is approx. $22.2. GENERAL TECH & FEATURES: When considering these particular trim levels, you will be experiencing different tech advantages. Some key differences are: -The Venue doesn't feature power adjustable seats (only manual adjustability) versus the Kona's 8-way power adjustment with power lumbar support. -But, the Venue SEL Premium offers a larger 8-inch touchscreen with built-in navigation versus the smaller 7-inch without navigation on the Kona SEL Plus. -Also, if you're an audiophile, you'll probably favor the Kona because it comes standard with Infinity Premium Audio system with the SEL Plus trim. -Both have Android Auto and Apple CarPlay for your smartphone. -But, the Kona is the one to get if you value wireless charging (since the Venue doesn't offer that at all). POWERTRAIN & FUEL EFFICIENCY: This is probably one of the main differences between the two models. If you need AWD, go for the Kona, because the Venue only offers a "Snow Mode" with FWD. Also, the Kona will be more powerful (and arguably quicker) because it has a larger engine than the Venue. But, the Venue has the upper hand when it comes to fuel efficiency! Agreed! The 2020 Venue should be a strong competitor in the sub-compact utility vehicle segment. Not only is it priced just rights, but it is also stylish. Very nice 👍 video. A couple of things, 1. A Lincoln limousine probably has 34 inches knee room in back seat, but a Hyundai Venue sure doesn't. 2. I've been driving 55 years without a center armrest.

Hey there! Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed this review! Also, I absolutely love the styling of the Venue. It's modern, chic, and not overdone. But, honestly, I totally see where you are coming from. The base Corolla is a solid vehicle, but the Venue offers lots of things that the base-model Corolla doesn't. Of course, it comes down to personal taste, but I am the type that loves to stand out, and I feel like that can be more easily achieved with a comparably priced Venue SEL in a bright color like this Apple Green. Moreover, you get a handy hatch with this model at a respectably low pricepoint... Especially once you consider the amount of tech and usable space available; it's a pretty well-rounded vehicle with a modest price tag. Hyundai actually recently send me one of these for a week of testing. So, please stay tuned for that. Working on those videos now. Can't wait to share a follow-up video (here in my hometown) since this video was filmed at a media launch event earlier this year. The biggest problem with this vehicle is that Hyundai put a very low quality battery in it. If you turn the engine off and in accessory mode your battery will be dead in about 6 minutes with nothing plugged in. Hyundai refuses to fix the problem. I would not recommend this vehicle.. I bought it new and had to replace the battery immediately. The tires are also garbage and you will be replacing them at about 28000 miles. If you don't drive much that might be 2 years of driving but due to my business I have to drive alot and unfortunately will only be about a year for me. Expect lotS of problems.

I totally agree, Carol! I am really digging the front fascia on the Venue. I think Hyundai really knocked it out of the park with the basketweave design. Moreover, I love the ninja-star-like rims too! For the price tag, Hyundai definitely put their design team to work with this one. Oh yes! Even the weaving in the lower bumpers is a neat touch!

I picked up the car 3 days ago and I’m loving it. I am active in the Knights of Columbus and needed a car that could carry large boxes of food or clothing that get distributed in the community and the Venue fits the bill. It’s big enough for the cargo and compact enough to get around the city. Also fun to drive.

After watching a bunch of videos, I went out and drove one of these. The biggest issue I see is that the low power makes it frustrating in an urban environment. Stopping at a light every two minutes is possibly the worst situation for this car. For the price difference, the Kia Soul was better in every possible way and barely more money.

Would you still recommend the Venue SEL premium package over the Kona SEL plus?
Hi, Rita! Thank you so much for checking out this video. This truly comes down to personal preference. Here is my mini breakdown, let me know if you need any further clarification:
SIZE:
The Kona is larger, thus it boasts slightly more interior volume and cargo space than the Venue.
PRICE:
Due to the Kona being larger than the Venue, it carries a higher price tag. The Kona SEL Plus is approx. $24.5, and Venue SEL Premium is approx. $22.2.
GENERAL TECH & FEATURES:
When considering these particular trim levels, you will be experiencing different tech advantages. Some key differences are:
-The Venue doesn't feature power adjustable seats (only manual adjustability) versus the Kona's 8-way power adjustment with power lumbar support.
-But, the Venue SEL Premium offers a larger 8-inch touchscreen with built-in navigation versus the smaller 7-inch without navigation on the Kona SEL Plus.
-Also, if you're an audiophile, you'll probably favor the Kona because it comes standard with Infinity Premium Audio system with the SEL Plus trim.
-Both have Android Auto and Apple CarPlay for your smartphone.
-But, the Kona is the one to get if you value wireless charging (since the Venue doesn't offer that at all).
POWERTRAIN & FUEL EFFICIENCY:
This is probably one of the main differences between the two models. If you need AWD, go for the Kona, because the Venue only offers a "Snow Mode" with FWD. Also, the Kona will be more powerful (and arguably quicker) because it has a larger engine than the Venue. But, the Venue has the upper hand when it comes to fuel efficiency! So, it depends on what you value most.

Agreed! The 2020 Venue should be a strong competitor in the sub-compact utility vehicle segment. Not only is it priced just rights, but it is also stylish. Not to mention, it is still spacious and rather fuel-efficient.

Also, I absolutely love the styling of the Venue. It's modern, chic, and not overdone.
But, honestly, I totally see where you are coming from. The base Corolla is a solid vehicle, but the Venue offers lots of things that the base-model Corolla doesn't. Of course, it comes down to personal taste, but I am the type that loves to stand out, and I feel like that can be more easily achieved with a comparably priced Venue SEL in a bright color like this Apple Green.
Moreover, you get a handy hatch with this model at a respectably low pricepoint... Especially once you consider the amount of tech and usable space available; it's a pretty well-rounded vehicle with a modest price tag.
Hyundai actually recently send me one of these for a week of testing. So, please stay tuned for that. Working on those videos now. Can't wait to share a follow-up video (here in my hometown) since this video was filmed at a media launch event earlier this year.

The biggest problem with this vehicle is that Hyundai put a very low quality battery in it. If you turn the engine off and in accessory mode your battery will be dead in about 6 minutes with nothing plugged in. Hyundai refuses to fix the problem. I would not recommend this vehicle.. I bought it new and had to replace the battery immediately. The tires are also garbage and you will be replacing them at about 28000 miles. If you don't drive much that might be 2 years of driving but due to my business I have to drive alot and unfortunately will only be about a year for me. Expect lotS of problems.
