1st run //M caught up & passed by a little bit before tapping off.
2nd run //M reeled him in again & GTR tapped off as he was being passed.
I think more runs are in order😬

@@uponscore I know you can't be that dense. "shut down" means cops are patrolling that section 24/7 and cracking down in the general area so how far you want to drive to do street racing? I saw it happen in TPA back in the day on the courtney campbell so this is not idle speculation.

I love GTRs, but that's a lot of money and mods for not a lot of HP.
I'm glad they were mass produced for so long because that means there will be no shortage of them for decades to come, but it's time for a major update.

@@95regShamil well not bmw as a car it’s more bmw community, mostly the b58 and n54 mfs, you know how they are “down pipe tune il gap you” and most of them pay a shop to put on an intake, mostly from experience especially because I drive a vr30, love the f80s and g80s tho

Went how I guessed. Pretty much a drivers reaction race. Put some modern day turbos on a GTR and it evens the playing field on the G80’s a bit.

Why is it impressive? Everything on this g80 is modern. The stock turbo’s on the g80 is making the same boost as the upgraded turbo’s on the r35. They weight the same and both on e85 so it’s pretty much a wash race. So what is so impressive about a modern car tying with a car from 2012 making the same boost?

No it doesn't. No stock turbo gtr touches a stock turbos g80. Even if the g80 is on e50 the gte won't come close. They need hybrids to compete. This isn't my first g80 vs gtr race.

@3yar1983 then your racing a OTS tuned g80s not custom tuned. No stock turbo GTRs are running in 5s 60-130! Not 1! G80s on e50 are doing high 5s and e85 ones doing mid 5s. I know whay im talking about. Stock turbo g80s make more power than stock turbo gtrs mod for mod and fuel for fuel with OEM turbos. I didn't lose any credibility by stating such claims. You sound like a major gtr fan boy. I post bmws winning and losing on this channel. But facts are facts. Do some research b4 blowing up on me.

@@aimxdy8680gtrs have had some more time sort out kinks and the develop the platform than g8x. first 7 second gtr was in 2013, took like 4 years for that to happen. g80s came out in 2020 are pretty close for being out for 3-4 years Fastest s58 is a 8.07 in the 1/4, not a 7 but it's pretty close. Just give the s58s some to cook a little bit

maybe it can be as fast as an RS3 with 4 doors. But it will need to get a lot faster as there is new development on the RS3 and IROZ have publicly said they expect to go deep into the 7’s this year

I usually laugh at the delusional bmw fanboys but I have to admit, the G80 was the faster car.
The bmw fanboys have taken so many losses recently so it’s good for them to get a win now and again, even if it’s by a very small margin. They still don’t learn that if you want a fast European car, you buy an Audi, Porsche or Lambo. It cracks me up how they think their cars are ‘nutty’ 😂😂
