- The Rev was an excellent drummer. The whole band is very talented. I think people hate them because they're cute. Regardless, they get my nod of approval.
I decided to learn this song 3 days ago. I studied the song, had a few attempts at it, and threw in some ear candy in a few spots.

I agree The Rev was an excellent drummer and as a drummer I can say that double ride thing he played was the most innovative drum fill I have heard for a long, long time. The Rev circa 2005 is probably making teenage drummers feel the way I did when I first heard Led Zep 1 in the early 90's and Bonzo's bass drum technique blew me away and spent most of the 90's trying to copy those 16th notes on Good Times Bad Times. I imagine The Rev's double ride is doing that to drummers today. It is such a great fill.

Mitch Barron Yes but it was fresh and unique and even now if I see anyone incorporating the double ride thingy I think instantly of The Rev.
Sean reinert did the "double ride thing" with death way back in 91. Not taking anything away from the rev he's a great drummer, just giving credit where it's due.

Anyway, I know that you've changed your drum setup over the years, but I'll have you know, that your videos, your kit, is the best sounding kit I've ever heard, and your mix with the music is spot on, especially this one when it's almost a decade ago. And speaking of long time ago, I just recently reunited with their song Chapter Four, Waking the Fallen is one of their best OG album to me and somehow I forgot about that song for a while, I would love you to take a spin on that song.
