The hate towards a7x stemmed from bandwagon mentality and ignorance in my opinion, " oh these metal heads hate it, I better not give it a chance and open my mind or else I'll be branded a poser and not a true metal head. A7x are a band that doesn't self identify so seriously with genre, they write purely from mixed influence. No trying to be something. They aren't pure yeah, but they aren't pretentious like many "true metal" bands. I love metal, but the over serious, hypocritical and ignorant nature of the sub culture I find to be gay as hell. Yeah I said gay, protest me.
