Ullaasam is mind-blowing music. I was stunned when it was released and felt that Karthik Raja identified himself as the genuine heir of Ilaiyaraja but Yuvan took that mantle later. Yuvan is a mixture of Ilaiyaraja and AR Rahman, but Karthik is the true inheritor of Ilaiyaraja's music, maybe that's his drawback too, like SPB Charan who has similar voice tone as his father but was ignored as long as SPB was alive.
