Today we visit one of the many abandoned houses in France. The story underlying this property is rather sad. It was lived in by the French family "Forgot": the eternal loving couple Maurice and Jeanette, with their son Jules. Maurice and Jeanette were already married for more than 50 years when disconsolately Maurice passed away. When a few years later also Jeanette departed this earth, it was all up to the son Jules to maintain the upkeep of the house or sell it. Gloomily enough, Jules became disabled in a work-related accident short hereafter and was not able to. As the day of today, 9 years later, nature has reclaimed the front garden and seems to become the new owner of this French family's home.

Well, we were born into this world with nothing, and we leave with nothing. I don't think either one has lingered there in their home. I think they are together again. The only thing we can take with us, is Love. Thank you for this beautiful video.

Hi Maureno, the 19th century is actually 1800 - 1899 and the 20th century is from 1900 - 1999. The thing on the wall at 32:50 was a butterfly, moths don't fold their wings like that. Such a beautiful home and a real shame what happened to their son. Fifty years married is a very long time for any couple so they must have been deeply in love. Thank you for sharing, much love to you and Remon. xx💖

1:50 Even though the son is disabled, I wonder why he cannot sell or rent the house. Did the son become disabled before the parents died?
4:49 That is not much dust on the table for 10 years. I get more than that in my home after a month. :)
7:20 Looks like someone has emptied all the valuables from the drawers. No other relatives?
13:03 Push the button and it spins around pushing the ashes inside. My parents had one of these.
    21:02 Good advice.

You can tell how cozy and loving this home was. This home is still in great condition. Some mildew here and there, and some collapsing of roof, this can still be sold as is!
Have someone go through EVERYTHING! All paperwork, photographs and other things of importants, donate the clothing with the son's permission. Once removed, sell the house with the furnishings.
This is still a good home for any family, it just needs a little help.💕

Hi Maureno from winning team Explomo, Again another lovely video, which I enjoyed watching. - You were showing so much empathy, when you
told the really sad story about the son becoming disabled due to a work accident and his parents passing away. - Nevertheless is it wonderful to
see the still completely intact house with surprisingly pristine rooms. - The furniture and the interior decoration is quite beautiful and is looking
somehow fairly wealthy but still very cozy. - I especially liked the typical French style curtains. - On the other hand it was also sad to see the
forgotten items of a lifetime from this couple, the once beloved artefacts of their life. - I wonder if these items could tell stories?? All these
papers, the photographs, the many small things like souvenirs, the plates on the wall, saying, that they were 50 years in love together,.. and
so on . - Maureno again your wonderful and entirely sensitive words of living the life to your full potential, to be aware about the impermanence
of life, .. touched me once more so deeply! - These highly thoughtful reflections with a clear philosophical touch are always adding a very unique
quality to your videos. - Simply awesome! - Great video, beautifully presented and narrated, dear Maureno! - Wishing you all the best, much love
and lots of blessings! - Stay safe, bro - peace and kindest regards! - Hope to see you again!

What a well-worded comment once again, Sir. Maybe you could teach these Dutch people how to speak better English. A Dutch accent is clearly audible in their videos. You, however, write without any accent. I guess, that they would be very happy to learn from you.

So sad about the son, but an exceptionally beautiful home. I never miss a video. You find the best places. Thank you 😊 close the curtains are called Tie Backs. That is called resin art with the flowers 🌺 inside, my father use to do it. The woman probably did the tapestry art for a hobby. My kitchen cabinets are that design, called Cathedral. It’s true I started watching abandoned after my husband passed away, tomorrow is not promised and you can’t take it with you. I don’t know what my children are going to do with all my stuff. Probably keep some but hold an auction for the rest. I saw crochet thread in the closet, I bet she crocheted the ones on her dresser in the bedroom and around the house. I like how you take your time and show us everything, good camera work.

@@Explomo I finished watching the video. What a treasure of a house, but with a tragedy thrown in. It's a shame that some vandals/thieves got inside. I honestly could picture myself living there. I wonder if the Son was able to spend time in the family home before his accident. I noticed unused rolls of insulation and wondered if he was going to do some home repairs.
Thanks for taking us with you on your magnificent journeys, Maureno. Wishing you and Remon good health and safe travels. It'll be nice to see you both together again in the future. And I'm really excited about the chandeliers yet to come!

What a lovely home, some small repair and cleaning that home is savable.. I have restored 3 Victorians in my life, 2 Queen Anne's ( one is my current home) and a Craftsman Cottage, that were in much worse shape than this home when I started.. Its so sad to see these places having become so lonely. Thank you for this wonderful tour.. I have a question?.. I know you guys are not like a lot of other explorers who say every explore they do turns out to be a place that is creepy and haunted which I find hard to believe... but is there one place that sticks out in your mind as having a odd or strange feel to you? or made you uncomfortable? I wonder because I have looked at many old homes to restore, and there were a couple I just couldn't bring myself to buy, because they gave me chills, though I don't believe in ghost per se, some places just have a feeling about them.

Also as you said she must of knitted her lovely cardigans/ jumpers as well. The indented blocks you found in the little box on the dining room sideboard were rests for chinese chopsticks. Hence the chinese takeaway cardboard in the basement. It was poignant and sad too, yes its hard to remember to live our lives for each day when we are caught up in this crazy world. Sad story about this home. I can't believe how over grown it is outside. The inside though was nice. Love the cabinetry. You sounded sad Maureno until the end but I have to say you did make me laugh when you came back in from the attic and the first room we see you said it's a dump lol. Idk just made me laugh. Take care my friend and stay safe. 🙂💖🙏

Surprisingly the place WAS not in SUCH bad shape. With some TLC, it would be a great place for someone to occupy.(NOT ME ‼️) BUT SOMEONE ELSE. I'M WONDERING WHY SOME OF THEIR OTHER FAMILY MEMBERS DIDN'T CLEAN THE PLACE OUT ❓ GOOD VIDEO 📸.

The box on the sideboard has knife rests in it. They are the little pieces with flowers suspended in them. People would rest their dinner knives on them so as not to get any food on the tablecloth. Thanks for this wonderful tour!

What a beautiful home. The chairs in the dining room are gorgeous. It has been a long long time since I've seen knife holders for the dining room table!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pretty too. I love the balcony. That was sad - the lady's slippers next to the men's slippers... Where is the son????? The woman had great taste in clothes. It might just be me but the upstairs looks like it has been trashed. Same with the basement. When I was a child my mother had an old kerosene stove in the basement where she would just cook lobsters. (We lived in Maine) Back then lobsters were quite large. Excellent video as usual. ;)

I am surprised the neighbors do not complain about the house (it looks close to others) and that the city does not take it over and sell it for the owner.

Beautiful home. They had collected a lot of cherished items. I love the way some items are from old and some are more modern. You are so correct in saying that life is fleeting very quickly for all of us, and may end soon. It makes me sad to see things like eye glasses, false teeth and things that was so needed when they were alive, and certainly not needed anymore. Thank you for an interesting tour. Take care good care of yourself. We want to keep you around for a long time. You are such a gentle person.

The balconies served more than one thing . 1. For relaxation and 2. Mosquitoes only fly so high so people would sit on their balconies..usually higher than 2nd floor or there were special places on top of the roofs on their houses where they would sit in the evenings. Those areas were flat and usually had a iron fences around the edges so they wouldn't fall.
