@@PaperMario64 yes. From my primary. He is a DO. I did have consults with a vein doctor and have had MLD with an OT. So I had comorbidity diagnoses which helped me get approved. It took quite a few months to get approval but once I did, it has been easy.
I would be curious to try a GLP-1 to see if it helps with my Lipedema, but I know my insurance doesn't cover them for off label diagnosis. They don't cover weight loss drugs either. If funding was available to help with the drug cost for the study, I would be happy to participate!😊 I am finding some pain relief from duloxetine, but that doesn't address the inflammation.
I was diagnosed with stage 2 lipedema/lymphedema in June 2023. I do not need to lose weight but am extremely interested in reducing inflammation. I feel excessive swelling mid day and moreso after exercising. I have a very rigorous maintenance schedule to keep it manageable. This has greatly impacted my previous daily routine and social life. Would I be considered to be a candidate in this study?
@@bduncan3827 Yes , however, we follow best practices including having patients to visit the office at least once to ensure a complete and proper diagnosis. Have fluid and body composition measurements and make sure other nonsurgical treatments are prescribed.
Vespersongs, we are so sorry to hear you had a bad experience with these medications. These medications, like all medications, have side effects. While they help many women, they are not for everyone.
I have lipedema and started glp therapy along with a keto diet and it has been a game changer. 100% life changing.
So glad to hear that. Did you get it from your primary doctor? Not sure where to start.

I have Lipedema and am on Mounjaro as I’m also type 2 diabetic. I have noticed it does definitely help my inflammation and Lipedema.
Thank you for sharing your insight.
I really appreciate you advocating for those of us that have Lipedema. Thank you so much!
Thank you for your kind words and support.
I have heard both good and bad side effects with it. The inflammation reduction sounds great.
We agree.

Our current study is completely self funded but we are trying to get pharma interested in funding this study so far no interest.
I fully agree with Dr. Wright on knee replacement ❤

Yes you would. At this time, we are limiting the study participant to established patients of Dr Wright. However he is accepting new patients.
@@lipedemainfoDoes he treat patients virtually?

I’m interested in trying it with keto.
@@PaperMario64 winner! Keto along with GLP is phenomenal. 💯 life changing for inflammation. I’m down 72 pounds using keto and tirzepatide
How do we join the study?

I tried ozempic ,6 months. Lost weight
Then it stopped. Quit. Gained back more. I have lipedema highest stage.
These meds were a total fail for my lipedema, and landed me in the ER with stomach pain so severe, I literally thought I was going to die.

Hi, IDENTICAL TWINS with LIPEDEMA here- interested with research studies for LIPEDEMA. We want to be a help for a cure.
