Half step down I guess which makes it easier to sing live. The recorded version has very high vocal parts. Lifehouse rocks! I'll be seein them on the 26th!
I was young but I wasn't naive I watched helpless as he turned around to leave And still I have the pain I have to carry A past so deep that even you could not bury if you tried After all this time I never thought we'd be here Never thought we'd be here When my love for you was blind But I couldn't make you see it Couldn't make you see it That I loved you more than you'll ever know A part of me died when I let you go I would fall asleep Only in hopes of dreaming That everything would be like is was before But nights like this it seems are slowly fleeting They disappear as reality is crashing to the floor After all this time I never thought we'd be here Never thought we'd be here When my love for you was blind But I couldn't make you see it Couldn't make you see it That I loved you more than you'll ever know A part of me died when I let you go After all this time Would you ever want to leave it Maybe you could not believe it That my love for you was blind But I couldn't make you see it Couldn't make you see it That I loved you more than you will ever know A part of me died when I let you go And I loved you more than you'll ever know A part of me dies when I let you go
@glooer - YOU ARE SO RIGHT EVERY WORD...THANK YOU! I believe Jason wrote these songs for the same reason you just noted... he talked about this earlier on...eventually, he stopped telling the real reason behind these songs like Breathing and Everything. he started saying he is leaving it up to the listeners to interpret the song how ever they want to. I understand why, to make it less complicated specially when the subject is about God, Christianity and religion. it becomes an issue to some.
Lol the crowd reminds me of the crowd in Weezer's perfect situation video where he comes up on stage the very first time and the audience just looked confused. Still, this song is amazing, and it relates to anyone of if not, everyone, that we have loved and lost before.
@Xallia621 That's probably the real reason, but I want to believe it's real emotion. It's like, when you have a favorite band, sportsclub, etc. they can't do anything bad, even a bombed note ;). So everything they sing, or how they sing, it's good. Even the dission for not putting crash and burn on the last CD ;)
I'm pretty sure there is more than 1% of fans who are neither gay nor female.. Considering I'm neither, and I think that I am definately NOT the only straight dude who appreciates their music.
relate to man, and so we honour God by following this precedent whether we are communicating about exclusively spiritual things or not. I would expect, then, that a Christian band would recognize the value human relations, and so ensure they sung about them. I would also expect that they would not be criticized about this from a fellow Christian, since they are only performing that which God would have them do.
@justse2006 You really have no idea do you. These are probably the most down to earth rock stars you could come across. This song isn't even about a girl. Jason writes a lot of music about his relationship with is father and a lot of faith based music to be interpreted in different ways. Really, I think he could care less about "cashing in". He makes music for the fans. If they would have done if just for the money, he'd be trying to write another "hanging by a moment" or "you and me".
yeah this is at a lower key coz it really hard to hit the high notes saying "I" in the chorus of the song.. jason's voice cracked at around 3:52 at that high pitch. nevertheless lifehouse rocks yeeaahh...
relate to his fellow man soured. So when the second Adam died for out sins, he restored our ability to renew correct interaction amongst ourselves. If you think God views our relationships as a mere ''earthly'' matter, you are mistaken. Our ability to relate is based on the fact and communicative ability of the the Trinity itself. For this reason, man, being made in the image of God; will always value, as does God, his relations with his fellow humans. God made man to relate (cont above^
@holybringer A lot of people see Lifehouse as a band with a mostly female fan base, so I get ridiculed sometimes for liking them. That's all I was saying, not that it was a problem.
@justse2006 They were a Christian worship leading team, and many of the songs have spiritual contents, and not necessarily about girls but rather about the love based relationships with God. Songs such as Breathing, Broken, Storm still show their Christianity core. But the world tends to deny those aspects of them and put them as mere earthly relationships and about girls, which is pretty sad to me.
This song defines perfection!
This song always makes me tear up. Reminds me of my first love... so beautiful.
They are great in recording same as live... God Bless Lifehouse...
I am also a straight guy who enjoys Lifehouse's music, everyone is different...

i love this song!!!!
I was young but I wasn't naive
I watched helpless as he turned around to leave
And still I have the pain I have to carry
A past so deep that even you could not bury if you tried
After all this time
I never thought we'd be here
Never thought we'd be here
When my love for you was blind
But I couldn't make you see it
Couldn't make you see it
That I loved you more than you'll ever know
A part of me died when I let you go
I would fall asleep
Only in hopes of dreaming
That everything would be like is was before
But nights like this it seems are slowly fleeting
They disappear as reality is crashing to the floor
After all this time
I never thought we'd be here
Never thought we'd be here
When my love for you was blind
But I couldn't make you see it
Couldn't make you see it
That I loved you more than you'll ever know
A part of me died when I let you go
After all this time
Would you ever want to leave it
Maybe you could not believe it
That my love for you was blind
But I couldn't make you see it
Couldn't make you see it
That I loved you more than you will ever know
A part of me died when I let you go
And I loved you more than you'll ever know
A part of me dies when I let you go
a perfect ban, a perfect music;)

Who is that guy in black shirt
See the music video?

Does it seem like the key is a little lower than the original?
@LinkVink Ähm there is no 3:62 xD ?

God made man to relate (cont above^
These days, the main reason to make music, is to make money.
The second reason is to express yourself.....
@holybringer It's all good :)
@holybringer A lot of people see Lifehouse as a band with a mostly female fan base, so I get ridiculed sometimes for liking them. That's all I was saying, not that it was a problem.
is the public stoned or what? they'd have to restrain me from jumping on stage!!
its part of me died when i let you go :)
2:36 sounds like he's saying, "Part of me died when I let you down." Is that the lyric?
Gman325 let you go
@johnnylarkin
lol 3:62 ??
wo is that other guy to wades right
