God I love RUclips......I was at this show, and here I am checking out the whole damn thing 35 years later! I was eighteen years old and high as a kite....what a great night.
It would take 10 more years for me to watch the amazing Rod show...meanwhile, this is the time tracklist 00:00 Classic Rod Intro: The Stripper 01:06 Hot Legs 06:25 Tonight's The Night (It's Gonna Be Alright) 10:39 Da Ya Think I'm Sexy? 17:17 I Just Want to Make Love to You (Rolling Stones cover) 21:55 Blondes Have More Fun 25:56 Maggie May 32:00 If Loving You Is Wrong I Don't Want to Be Right 37:45 Wild Side Of Life 42:32 You're In My Heart (Final Acclaim) 46:55 Sweet Little Rock N Roller 51:07 Stay With Me (The Faces song) 55:42 Twisting The Night Away
Now these are the performances I love to watch. Rod is actually smiling from ear to ear as he does what he does best, entertaining his audience while enjoying being on stage and showing off 😘😘😘
I saw the Hot Leggs Tour in Louisville Kentucky at Freedom Hall Rod was awesome he gave me a night I have never forgotten Thanks Rod and GOD bless JIMMIE D in KY.
I saw this line up at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl in Melbourne, Australia. Best line up and Phil Chen is a great pocket bass player, coming out to shine when needed. That is the sign of someone on top of his craft.
I LOVE all of Rod’s music, but my all time fav song is on this concert, and the very song that made me a fan since i was 10 years old! If lovin you is wrong!! Best Rod song ever! ❤️
The 1st time I saw RS was on this tour. Love him or hate him, this is a dramatic show opener into a great rocking tune! Unfortunately, this was the highlight! I saw him in Philadelphia. Instead of singing You'll Wear It Well, they played "Do ya Think I'm Sexy," TWICE! I never forgave him for it
He was and is a showman. I saw him this same year in Birmingham, AL. Most impressive concert I had every been to. So thankful he had the foresight to record this. It's a national treasure. Love you Rod then and now!
Rod and Da ya think I am sexy were HUGE late 78 to about March of 79. How that dreck by the knack beat Da ya think...for the top song of 1979 just shows the disco backlash. Like another comment says being around music at this time was a great time indeed. We will never get artists like this again.
Saw this show at Madison Square Garden. I remember the crowd booing when the lights went on right after this one hour set. No encore, nothing extra, just one hour of music.
Had Enough man I'm not trying to top your story but I saw Faces 1974 and they played exactly 50 minutes and BAM up go the lights. I was a huge Faces fan and I was like WTF? still a big fan but boy was that ever a short show
In all fairness. The amount of energy he puts into performing coupled with hitting all of the promotional events, researching the area in order to interject local interest into your set, practice, warm up, sound check, tour bus repair, bailing roadies out of jail so you can skip town, etc. He put out a lot of value for a one hour performance.
I've heard so many groups try to do it. Exactly what Rod's doing right now as the whole arena is singing each word exactly as it should be to sung he's singing. Rumor has it. He was too drunk and forgot the lines and so the audience would sing those verses Yet. All in all I have to say Rod Stewart's the only one that really got full 100% participation from his audiences. Today. People just still try to do it but they never measure up. How much enthusiasm and the memory that these audiences knew all the words to all the songs. I'll just have tried but only Rod Stewart really succeed in that area. Why I have no idea?
Saw this show in Detroit. If i remember right when they did stay with me Rod was kicking soccer balls out into the crowd. Great show. Would have loved to see the Faces tour A nod is as good as a wink....I was a little young.
Had a great backing band at the time. Pretty amusing how Phil Chen (Bass) and Rod sang Hot Legs together on his mike and how the way Phil Chen and Billy Peek (Guitar). Sang along with Rod on Sweet Little Rock And Roller. Gary Grainger(Guitar) only sang with Rod on the song Wild Side Of Life. Jim Cregan (Guitar) and Carmine Appice (Drums) did most of the backup singing.
Thank you so much for this, I taped it off the telly onto VHS many years ago and must be 15 years since I've watched this great show. Got to see Rod at Birmingham NEC either 81 or 82.
My/our generation (over 45ish to under 65ish) is/was so blessed to live through an era of amazing bands and personalities...I mean can anyone name 3 current relevant bands or personalities that can fill arenas night after night...and no you cant use the Stones or Springsteen or the Who...see my point...
I was there, not shure if it was that exact night because he sold out 2 or 3 nights, but for sure that tour at the forum. I loved the sound quality, the stage, etc.
was there all nights - last night center 5th row - got my good camera in on my ex's pregnant tummy. later showed the photos to his manager. AND he is still going and great.
Rock on.. :-) As a fan of yours. It´s been great to follow every of your steps. Remember when your trucks got stuck in the snow in Norway. You just requstested a new one. Loaded the most important stuff onto the new one. Yup you was half an hour late on stage. But there was ALSO free bar of champagne in the lobby for 2000 people when you took a brake.. To keep the party going. :-) Thank´s
RIP to bassist Phil Chen. Passed away today from cancer at age 75. Thanks 😊 for the lifetime memories.
This is the Rod Stewart that I miss!
God I love RUclips......I was at this show, and here I am checking out the whole damn thing 35 years later! I was eighteen years old and high as a kite....what a great night.

St. Louis' own Billy Peek on the Flying V..... I've been playing bass with Billy for over 20 years now and He's still Rockin' !
Without a doubt, one of the best 5 rock frontmen of all times. Charisma and attitude, with a voice no-one can even match.
No arguments here...
Right up there with Mick Jagger ....
I think one of the things about Rod that I love... seeking to be good, but a sense of humor about himself
He was horrible on this night I was there
I'm here ❤I love Sir Rod Stewart everlasting KAZUYO TORII FROM KOBE CITY JAPAN ❤️
What a great way to open a show. HOT LEGS!

THE 1970s BABY ,, BEST DECADE EVER ,,
"I just want to make love to you" is a cover of Muddy Waters, even if the Stones covered it too ;)
@@MontgomeryGrant if anything the stones cover rod hehe
You rule! !! Thank you.
I saw this concert in NC & got so excited over Rod that I passed out.
Now these are the performances I love to watch. Rod is actually smiling from ear to ear as he does what he does best, entertaining his audience while enjoying being on stage and showing off 😘😘😘
I love watching all his videos and listening to his music
Rod at his best. This is his greatest band he ever had.
@@ThreeSixNineNatureamazing how few get this unfgbelievable
… apart from THE FACES 😉
Rod s great voice along with great guitar work make this fantastic!
Rod Stewart humping the stage gets this old heart of mine pumping!
It’s cool getting to see behind the curtain before the show starts.
Carmine appice is absolutely phenomenal!!
The craziest pockets ever
Besides the Faces this was Rod's best band.
I have seen him about 10x and he was like this most of them. One of my favorites. So much fun!
His voice is thrashed
Seen Rod live 3 times (80's). The man is a legend. This concert is great......he's great!......luv ya Rod :)
Rod performing always loving and so fabulous, fantastic 👉👍💜💓💙💘😍😍😍👉⭐⭐⭐🎸🎸🎸
I have seen them all literally ..Rod stacked up with the greatest of the greats
2 guitars, a great rhythm section and an awesome voice, what's not to love?
I saw the Hot Leggs Tour in Louisville Kentucky at Freedom Hall Rod was awesome he gave me a night I have never forgotten Thanks Rod and GOD bless

THANK YOU for sharing this GEM! Rod at his late 70's Peak! Looks like 37 people are in desperate need of hearing aids!
I saw this line up at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl in Melbourne, Australia. Best line up and Phil Chen is a great pocket bass player, coming out to shine when needed. That is the sign of someone on top of his craft.
Rod Stewart’s best musical lineup ever!👏👏👏
Spoken from true ignorance
I LOVE all of Rod’s music, but my all time fav song is on this concert, and the very song that made me a fan since i was 10 years old! If lovin you is wrong!! Best Rod song ever! ❤️

He is one of my favorite singer! he is amazing
I love the man .....the best of this. music. My Dream. ...... to do. ..love with. You....Dream......

I was at this show! SO glad I can re-live it thanks to youtube!
I love Carmine’s drumming so much. Groove central.
100%. People with ears know
Just superbly performed...this is when everyone in a band is major league talent.
I think there may only be 5 guys at this show..Rod's the man..
I remember taking my girlfriend to see Rod in 1979. My ears rang for three weeks. The screams from the women were deafening. 😁
No wonder theres a big smile on his face.........20,000 women screaming for him. I'm pretty sure Heaven isn't even like that
I'm jealous Melody Mains! Rod is one of my faves, but just about the only R&R star I haven't seen!
I had this on video after it was on TV so long ago. Wonderful to see this again.
I remember watching this on laser disc. Its one of my fondest memories!!! Had to be in the early 80's... dam this makes me feel old...
AAAAAAH NOOOOO IT WAS 1979 It will NEVER BE THE 80s lol
Rod stewart ...big front-man in all of time
I saw this tour in Chicago. Good show.
