@@ItsJustLisa a friend of mine wanted to try this during a game night. It went all over the sodastream, has been a mess and tasted awful xD. 10/10 fun though. No regrets
For the popcorn bowl, I think it would have been easier to mix the popcorn and chocolate together in a separate bowl and then put into your mold to set.
You can cook sweet potatoes in the microwave for roughly 5 minutes when covered with a damp paper towel. Just poke holes on them as normal , wrap in damp paper towels and place in the microwave for 5 min and then 30 second increments after. Works like a charm
I think that the benefit to the toaster method is the browning. You aren't going to get that with microwaving. I'm super excited to try this method because my favorite way to eat sweet potatoes is to cube them up, toss them in olive oil and salt, pepper, garlic, and a little smoked paprika and roast them in a hot oven. HEAVEN. Feel like I could "roast" the slices to get similar exterior texture in the toaster and then brush with some butter or olive oil and dust with my spices and get a reasonable facsimile with far less effort. I think. I hope. We'll see?
You can also cube them and put them in an air fryer. I personally don't have an air fryer, but I have an acti-fry so it tosses them for you, so no need to flip in the middle, but works well and doesn't take as long!
I feel like sometimes Rachel only half watches the tik toks before she makes them 😂 the sweet potato video literally said to cook at the highest setting three times, which ended up being what she did anyway
Yaaaaas! Friar Tuck! Friar Tuck! Friar Tuck! I screamed when I saw the shirt. Can't think of the last thing that brought me that much joy! I live Chris' energy and support this 100%!
I love that the TikTok showed to toast the sweet potato on the highest setting 3 times and Rachel thought once at half would work. You're forever the optimist! 😊
When Chris walked in with that shirt and that huge mischievous grin, he looked like an adorable child. Bet his mother had to chase the girls away in first grade!
Chris eats stale pasta chips. “Everyone is wrong.” Chris goes in for more stale pasta chips.“No, these are bad.” Chris gets a little more stale pasta… Hilarious. Please let the man name that air fryer. 😂
First of all, your toaster looked magical! I have the most basic toaster and I totally gasped when it slowly lowered the sweet potato for you. Second, have you tried microwaving sweet potato? It takes 6 to 9 minutes at around 800-900W to microwave a whole potato and you just need to prick it with a fork before you microwave it x

I must say I never liked the crispy parts of noodle casserole, but the pasta chips are sooo yummy! I think maybe Rach burnt them too much... My friend has an air fryer so we tried the air fryer pasta a few weeks ago and it was so good! We used Farfalle (bow tie) and just a little oil, italian herb mix and the tiniest amount of chili. Her air fryer is really small so we had to do it in two batches and if you flip it well enough and make sure you have an even layer (just at the bottom) they do get more evenly done. I didn't mind though that some parts were more crispy and some more al dente, but I definitely preferred the crispier parts. My friend didn't like them as much when they were starting to cool a bit and I admit, they're best hot, but I still really liked them as they were cooling down too. I also didn't think they tasted of stale pasta.
Maybe tumble/fold the popcorn in a stand mixer on the slowest setting while you add the white chocolate, caramel or candy melts. That will help to more fully coat the popcorn and make it more like a rice crispy than a shell of white chocolate ganache dripped over popcorn.
You should try Gnocchi in the airfryer. A spray of oil, salt 8-12 mins. I make a dip of warmed Napoli sauce with melted cheese on top (on microwave). To die for. Love you two.
I wonder if you cut the cinnamon roll to a half-depth, then, when you unroll/re-roll it, attach the tail, then fill with the pancake batter. You may not need to steam it, since it’s not as thick.
With chocolate chips you add oil to melt them better. Dark chocolate needs a little bit like 1/2 tbs, Milk chocolate needs a tbs and white needs about a tbs and a 1/2. Mix the oil in before you melt it and stir it really well until it starts have more melted chocolate then chocolate chips.
Two things: first, Chris's T-shirt ROCKS!!! How funny is he??!?! Second, you are the third person on utube that I have seen test the pasta chips and it has never worked out. We live you Rachel!!! (And Chris. How does anyone not love Chris?)
Hi Rach! Absolutely loving this channel after coming over from your makeup channel. The content is great, I love to cook as well, but my favourite thing is the dynamic between you and Chris. It comes across so well how much you two like each other, respect each other, make each other laugh. It's obvious that you love each other but the friendship between you is just beautiful and really sets your channel apart 👍🏾❤️
That shirt made my week, Chris. I can't believe he did it. When she asked and Chris said it would come to him I was thinking, how could he forget the perfect name. I was not disappointed with the surprise!
I don’t have a TikTok account so the only people I’ve seen make the pasta chips have been RUclipsrs. Every single person I’ve seen attempt this recipe has HATED it. Why are you lying, TikTok?
You could make the cinnamon roll pancakes and put them in a warm oven to keep them hot while you make more. I’m thinking butter and syrup but skip the frosting … they look delish! I think you could slice a sweet potato and then bake them in the oven which would still be faster than a whole sweet potato and easier than the toaster method. Now I want a sweet potato! 😝
And/or just cutting the sweet potato into smaller bits and then throwing them into the water to cook, they take maybe 3-4 more minutes then than normal potatoes do. We sometimes make mashed potatoes out of a mix of sweet and normal potato and just cut the sweet one first, throw it in, and then cut the normal ones. It comes out alright then!
Me too. It really is hard. Hang in there though if you have a good reason to do it! I can report that my inflammation markers did go down a bit since then.
I really miss those too. So far I haven't seen a gluten-free version. I also liked to bake those cookies that would come in on the holidays by Pillsbury that had the little design in the middle and I would really love to see a gluten-free version of those. In fact Pillsbury used to have a tub of chocolate chip cookie dough that was gluten free that you could bake your own chocolate chip cookies and that was really good and then I stopped seeing it and I miss it. It was a lot of fun and it was really good too.
Tip: microwave the icing in its plastic container for a few seconds then you can pour it rather than smear. I hate that it tears up my cinnamon rolls so I like to pour it hot over the top. Then it stays hot too. And if you add butter before frosting it melts the butter.
I used to do that, but I realized I hate how liquidy the icing gets. I just leave it on the stove while cooking so its soft but not pourable and smear it on. I've never tore up my cinnamon bun.
You’ve got to try to potato bag!! It’s a red bag you get from Amazon. My husband and I use it almost every week and we make baked sweet potatoes in it! 4 minutes for 1 potato, about 8 min for 2!!. Just cut the ends off, pop the potato in the bag and microwave it. Life changing. You can even do mini potatoes with seasonings in the bag. We wash the bag in the washing machine with the kitchen towels
Tik-Tok is obsessed with cooking things in toasters. It's almost never actually easier than doing it in a more traditional way. Also, toaster manufacturers are pretty clear that a lot of the things people put in there really, really shouldn't be put in there. I can just imagine if some soft chunk of sweet potato getting stuck to the coils... #TeamFriarTuck

For the pasta chips, I am pretty sure you need to dehydrate the pasta after cooking it. In Cuba we had something similar, crunchy pasta with salt for the children and people would dehydrate the pasta on the sun for hours and then deep fry it. This was before air fryers where a thing.
best way I have found to cook sweet potatoes is whole, wrapped in damp paper towels for like 8 minutes in the microwave. soft and fully cooked everytime.
My grocery store has fresh sweet potatoes wrapped in plastic, to be popped in the microwave for 8 minutes. It's a faster baked sweet potato without the oven...and bonus, it's not a premade gross version. Just raw potato for lazy cooking, and so worth it. I cut it open, mash, and sometimes add sour cream.
For the popcorn bowl I would use marshmallow as the binding agent like rice crispy squares. You could add choc chips to it and/or coat it in chocolate after.
I stab my sweet potatoes with a fork a few times and cook it in the microwave for 5-6 minutes. I check it and cook it a few minutes more if it needs it. I love watching you and Chris!!😻
A local cafe here in Texas does cinnamon roll pancakes, but they just add a buttery cinnamon swirl to the pancake batter. It saves a lot more time and money than buying cinnamon roll dough and going through all that hassle… just pour the batter in the pan and spoon a swirl of buttery cinnamon sugar on top, then flip, serve, and enjoy!
There is a restaurant: Old Chicago. It’s a pizza type place with lots of other items in the menu. They have an appetizer called Italian nachos. It’s pasta chips topped with mozzarella, pepperoni, sausage, and pepperocinis , served with marinara for dipping. This is the only way to have the pasta chips! ☺️ oh yea, #teamfriartuck 😂
For the cinnamon pancake you could use multiple cinnamon rolls and twist them round and then cover the whole pan with pancake batter and it could be a big tear n’ share feast with friends/family! (Would still be able to have a lid on etc)
if you use a griddle for the cinnamon cakes you can take any pan lid, and cover it in the griddle, Mom of 7 here. did it all the time while cooking for them.
for the cinnamon roll pancakes, tbh i like to make normal pancake batter then cinnamon roll filling (the buttery cinnamon brown sugar mixture) and then just pipe it into the pancakes on the stove. then u can make the glaze if u want but it’s still super simple i usually just have it with shrup
I know there's a way to do a cute cinnamon swirl in a pancake. You can put some melted butter mixed with brown sugar so it create a paste and after you just put it in a squeezing bottle or ziplock bag and create a swirl on top of your pancakes when you are cooking it. may seems like lots of work but it's worth it :D
White chocolate and popcorn are great together! Make air-popped popcorn (6-8 cups), add salt, and then toss with a 12 ounce bag of melted white chocolate chips and 1-2 TBS of sprinkles. Ta-da!!! 🎉Yummy popcorn snack! If you can find red and green sprinkles it becomes a holiday snack! You’re welcome! 😄
What kind of toaster is that? I like it. New subscriber. I was so confused when in one of your videos you mentioned President's Choice products, then realized you are Canadian. So much more helpful to follow a Canadian RUclipsr.
What I would do for the popcorn bowl is turn the small bowl upside down and line with plastic wrap and lightly grease it. Them mix the popcorn and white chocolate thoroughly in a seperate bowl and once slightly cooled but not set mould it over the small bowl.
Easy ways to cook sweet potatoes: poke with holes and cover with wet paper towels in the microwave, in the air fryer, in the crockpot (takes awhile, but you don't have to mess with them), peel and cut in chunks drizzle with olive oil and spices of choice and roast in oven.
For the popcorn bowl I think if you did layers of white chocolate and popcorn you should be able to omit the coconut oil. Unless you want to use the coconut oil to grease the bowls but I would use parchment paper or wax paper.
A tip for sweet potato lover, what I do is I either cut it in half and put it in the oven to roast for about half an hour OR!! I cut it up as fries and rub them with olive oil, salt and italian seasoning, put it in the air fryer for about 15 - 20 minutes and they are delicious!!!

I stab my sweet potatoes with a fork a few times and cook it in the microwave for 5-6 minutes. I check it and cook it a few minutes more if it needs it. I love watching you and Chris!!😻
At first I thought how could chris forget friar tuck...then I saw the shirt and almost spit out my coffee lol
That sweet potato going into the toaster by the push of a button was so bougy and satisfying to watch!! 😂
Rachel is great and all but let's be honest, Chris is the star of this channel
I only cook pancakes on my Griddle. That is the best thing I bought having 5 kids (all boys). You get so many done at once!
“I would eat this at home feeling sad” I felt that in my soul. That’s exactly how I would eat that.
You have the always pan too ☺ My mom loves the one I got her for Christmas last year.
The tshirt moment was awesome 😂❤️😂
For the cinnamon pancake you could use multiple cinnamon rolls and twist them round and then cover the whole pan with pancake batter and it could be a big tear n’ share feast with friends/family! (Would still be able to have a lid on etc)
Best tools we have are our hands. Thank you for your hard work for us.
Watching you two makes my day- thanks🥰🤩😘
if you use a griddle for the cinnamon cakes you can take any pan lid, and cover it in the griddle, Mom of 7 here. did it all the time while cooking for them.
for the cinnamon roll pancakes, tbh i like to make normal pancake batter then cinnamon roll filling (the buttery cinnamon brown sugar mixture) and then just pipe it into the pancakes on the stove. then u can make the glaze if u want but it’s still super simple i usually just have it with shrup
Totally relatable “it’s going to scare me” when opening the cinnamon rolls lol
